I despair at Israel sometimes

Well, often really. I have family out there who have a bomb shelter in their house and have had to evacuate for weeks at a time so I have great sympathy for ordinary Israelis trying to go about their lives. What happened to 3 sch

Karen read the stats. Over 80% of the casualties are women and children. I'm glad you're angry, now direct your anger at the right people. TThe IDF is notorious for arresting children.

Can you explain how it's completely untrue?

KareninsGirl · 16/07/2014 16:53

There will never be peace with Hamas as they are a terrorist group. Would you expect any other country to deal with a terrorist organisation who was sworn to their destruction? The answer is not as simple as you think.

The Jews only have one state to call their own in the whole world. If it all goes tits up again for the Jewish people, they have somewhere to flee to.

Jews were actually living in Israel before 1948. Borders were won as part of wars - just like anywhere else.

I do not condone killing on either side but if Israel does not show strength they will be destroyed. I hate the fact people are dying - hate it.

If the bomb

JanineStHubbins · 16/07/2014 16:57

The insistence that Hamas are a terrorist group and therefore BAD rather glosses over the fact that the IDF itself originated as a terrorist group. They are just a few more decades down the line.

cleanmean · 16/07/2014 17:01

Hamas are an elected government whether you like it or not. Maybe if Israel hadn't have created such a desperate situation for the palestinians then Hamas would not have come into power. . I consider the IDF terrorists.

Israel cannot steal another nations land just in case things go 'it's up'. Sorry.

There are millions of Jews living around the world happily and do not feel the need to rape and degrade another nation to achieve their own sense of safety.

cleanmean · 16/07/2014 17:02

That should say 'tips up'

cleanmean · 16/07/2014 17:03

Sorry 'tits up' ffs.

cleanmean · 16/07/2014 17:10

Four casualties today.

Ahed atif baker. Aged 10.
ZZakria Ahed baker. Aged 10
Muhammed ramiz baker. Aged 11.
Ismael muhammad baker. Aged 9.

These 4 children were playing on a beach before they died. Just like many children in the UK might be doing today. The IDF will have seen they were children before they shot them down. The incident was caught by the international media and spread like wildfire through social media.

Now what was that you were saying about self defence.....

Springheeled · 16/07/2014 17:15

I thought it couldn't affect me any more, then I read the guardian article about the killing of these four children, about the same age as ds, playing football like ds. The level of white hot hatred and disgust I feel is intense. Thank heavens there's a demo on Saturday so that voices can be seen and heard to condemn this.
Where are our politicians? Whose voice will speak? I feel sick to the stomach.

cleanmean · 16/07/2014 17:18

Yes just when you think you are absolutely desensitised to the brutality of Israel a story like this appears. I am still shaking. Maybe it's because I have twin boys aged 10 like the two boys killed, maybe it's that 4 innocent children were taken from 1 family, or maybe it's because these kids tried to find some minutes of normality in the middle of a war zone. Well Israel made sure to make them pay.

Springheeled · 16/07/2014 17:20

Hey Israeli apologists- what have they done today to make you feel proud?

cleanmean · 16/07/2014 17:22

There was a huge demo outside the BBC last week in Manchester. Totally unreported.

There is a demo outside the BBC in London right now. Not a whisper of it on any news channel.

Read those names of the 4 brothers. Now read them again.

KareninsGirl · 16/07/2014 17:26

Bombing stopped and the talking starts. That's the right thing to do.

cleanmean · 16/07/2014 17:29

It's too late for Israel. It will never stop being despised for its occupation and degradation of palestine. The world will not wipe it's memory of what we have all seen this week.

MaliceInWonderland78 · 16/07/2014 17:30

Where are our politicians? They can't run this country. Icertainly wouldn't advocate them sticking their noses (on our behalf) any furether into the middle east.

The situation is terrible, the solution is a two-state one.

Spring Not supported a terrorist group which calls for the destruction of an entire people.

Backinthering · 16/07/2014 17:40

Pity the supporters of Israel are so focused on what Hamas may or may not do in a parallel universe, that they won't adress what Israel is doing, as an observed fact, in this one.
Which is blowing innocent children to bits.

Springheeled · 16/07/2014 17:52

Blowing innocent children to bits
Destroying their houses
Stealing their land
Imprisoning them
Using the people of Palestine to test America's latest weaponry
To be honest, Hamas is the lesser of two evils and what's more, Israel's actions created Hamas and continue to perpetuate it.

justasecond · 16/07/2014 19:53

I am no fan of the DM but look at these images. How can anyone justify this? I would like to know too what the Israel apologists say abut the murder of the 4 boys while playing on the beach, I suppose they were hiding Hamas rockets in sandcastles?

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2694011/Israel-leaflet-drops-Gaza-warning-Palestinians-evacuate-army-intensifies-airstrikes.html

cleanmean · 16/07/2014 20:14

And yet Israel demands again that people evacuate. And go where?? And why should they? The irony of course is that if anyone should be evacuating it's Israel.

I'm sure the apologists will deem these 4 children collateral damage and blame Hamas. Again. What exactly were Israel defending themselves against when using precision missiles on these 4 kids?

Would any apologists on this thread like to comment without misdirecting the blame back at palestinians?

amals1 · 16/07/2014 20:42

Rot in hell Netanyahu and the government of Israel. They are inhumane and should be charged with war crimes.

jonicomelately · 16/07/2014 20:45

The death is those four boys has really affected me. I've been looking for where my nearest demo is.

KareninsGirl · 16/07/2014 20:56

The UN has asked both Israel and Hamas to cease fire in order to give talks a chance. Israel has. Hamas is continuing to fire rockets at tel aviv.

The death of those four children is awful - all war is awful, it's never nice. If you looked as closely at any war it would be horrific. But Israel wants to talk and biece it or not find a way forward. But even at the request and intervention of the UN, Hamas will not stop. Until both sides cease fire and get round a table things will not get better.

I want Hamas to comply with the UN so that things can change. This is not just about Israel.

winkywinkola · 16/07/2014 20:59

Hamas needs to stop firing rockets. It is always firing rockets. Hamas are also murderous bastards who think nothing of sacrificing their own innocent people.
