Well, often really. I have family out there who have a bomb shelter in their house and have had to evacuate for weeks at a time so I have great sympathy for ordinary Israelis trying to go about their lives. What happened to 3 sch

Someone up thread mentioned that during this offensive photos and videos and accounts of Israel aggression has been all over social media. I know this has really opened the eyes of a lot of people. The disproportion, the inequality, the imbalance , the inhumanity, the unfairness is clear for the whole world to see.

israel cannot expect to gain or retain sympathisers whilst images of dead children are beamed to the world. And someone somewhere needs to try and end this offensive. I can't call it a war because for me and much of the world it is too one sided to so .

"For Fuck's sake, the difference between the Palestinians and Israelis is that the Palestinians have no military base - the struggle is akin to David and Goliath. WE I and other colluders) - 'gave away Palestinian land in 1948 - when we had no right whatsoever to do so - it was underhand shenanigans - and as it has turned out highly dangerous and volatile.

The recent attacks by Israel have been described as COMBAT?
A funny form of COMBAT, because where for instance are the Palestinian warplanes? Where is the Palestinian army? Where are the Palestinian tanks?

At the end of the day Israel murders and the world's governments are silent ( not just silent but complicit in it from the start - the US arming Israel to the teeth so as to have another strong Military in the Middle East?
Don't look at the BBC to find this out, they will not point out that a society that supposedly values and is apparently prepared for peace, it's people celebrate the murder of innocent civilians.

The mainstream media, wants us to demonise the victims. Israel denies and ignores all international law, continues to steal land, the Palestinians, those on the other side so to speak, remain imprisoned. bombarded by air, sea, and land.

So mum and dad if you have read this far, this is why I wont shut up. All human but the real difference between Israel and Palestine should not go by unnoticed. These are the real barriers to peace.

Remember too, that civilians are dying. Israeli airstrikes in the past few days have killed at least 83 people, including 21 children aged 16 and younger.

More than enough reasons for us not to remain silent.

from here

this stuff is OBVIOUS!!! no one is buying this shit anymore. israel needs to wake up and come into the 21st century and know that the world is watching you and they're not buying your bs anymore.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/07/2014 13:37

you know what it's been really hard for south africans and botwsanans and such to deal with having to enter this century and accept things have changed. it's obviously going to be really hard for israelis too. but it is going to have to happen.

it's kind of like the rest of the world has moved into the post-colonial era and had to deal with the consequences whilst israel has been allowed a free pass. thinking, justice, geopolitics, awareness of history, reparations etc etc etc have been engaged with everywhere except israel. israel still determinedly wants to hang onto the victim status even whilst it's aggression is beamed live to us all around the world. it can't go on.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/07/2014 13:44

quivering it's quite clear that deliberate or otherwise the loss of palestinian life doesn't register as an issue for israel. they're happy to justify it. for example: a petrol station, that stuff's flammable you know!?

palestinian life is cheap it seems. way cheaper than a petrol station or finding a different solution than bombing hundreds of homes.

can you imagine if we rounded up the welsh in bangor with a big fence round them and took over their land and left them caged in like animals and then when they threw a few rockets and one hit a petrol station we said LOOOK! see their demons, poor us, we're so victimised let's bomb the fuck out of bangor but hey, we gave them a call first to tell them.

god and then if we said well, scotland should step in and make them stop fighting back, better yet scotland should let all the welsh move in there with them so we can just have the whole of wales. bastards. they should deal with it and just trust that we won't be after stealing land from them AGAIN next.

just try looking at this rationally.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/07/2014 13:49

of course it's deliberate - you throw bombs into residential areas you're not unaware you're going to kill people even you say ahhh but they weren't the target.

and an occupied people fighting back is not the same as the occupier bombing the fuck out of them some more for fighting back.

really - try and get some global perspective.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/07/2014 13:51

that's like me throwing a tiger into the lounge when my son is in there and when my son is mauled to death saying oh but it wasn't my fault, i sent the tiger to get the mouse. goodness me.

cleanmean · 11/07/2014 13:54

The loss of life is deliberate! Barricaded in 1.5 million people in a 25 mile strip of barricaded land and then bombing them literally to death is deliberate.

The mother who died with her 6 children was asleep so do forgive her for not having the time to read the leaflets kindly sent down by Israel as a forewarning. Warning people before you murder them does not absolve Israel of culpability.

The deaths on BOTH sides are deliberate. How can you say they are not?

and both motivated by vengence rather than any meaningful military strategy.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/07/2014 13:57

no - the analogy would be welsh people entering wales, not england. because wales was theirs till we came and occupied it.

TheHoneyBadger · 11/07/2014 13:59

i can't believe in a way that i'm bothering to try and rationalise against genocidal practices with someone who wanted to ask for a white midwife. obviously this would be rolling a rock up a hill type endeavours.

quivering you sound like you genuinely want to understand Palestinians and admit that that some parts of your upbringing/life has been entrenched in racism and ignorance ( hence the aibu for asking for white midwife post). That is why i ask that you put yourself in the shoes of a Palestinian mother and her child and now tell me what would you do!

You also ask why would Israel murder children. The answer.....because it can! It denies palestinian children permission to leave for Egypt for life saving treatment. Children are left to die. This is on a good day when it is not bombing them! I can post links for these if you want.

You wanted sources for the stats that i wrote earlier. I shall post them shortly. Out of interest, is that because you didnt know this was going on or is there a different reason?

Yruapita · 11/07/2014 14:22

Quivering the analogy you are using does not work. I am shocked by the lack of compassion and understanding extended to Palestinians. It is very frustrating watching such injustices and vile genocide like practices and watching the oppressor blame the victim.

ShineSmile · 11/07/2014 14:33

One thing I can never get my head round is how Israelis and the world has justified throwing Palestinians off their own land and homes?!

Imagine if the French for example came to Britain and said to everyone living in England (most of us on here), 'well you guys, we lived here thousands of years ago, therefore we have a right to your homes and land, so get lost, find somewhere else to live, we are going to live here now'. Using weapons they then drove us all out, out of our homes. Some of us escaped to the refugee camps in Scotland, some to refugee camps in Wales. People in the south east coast managed to keep hold of their land but are now under siege.

Have a think about that ... I can't get my head round it. What right do people have to take away others homes and land?

this has nothing whatsoever to do with being jewish and it was disingenuous of you to throw that in there.

plenty of jewish people are not palestinian hating xionists. plenty of xionists are not jewish.
