The Grillo case (AKA Nigella & Saatchi)

So the last thread on the Grillo case is full.

I have taken the liberty of starting a new one here for people's thoughts as the case unfolds.

Then I don't understand how you can be anything other than # team nigella

Headline on BBC news reads Nigella could face civil action by Saatchi!

Ooh I'm sure she's so scared !!

Good grief what an idiot he looks.

He's like a villain from a book really - Trinny must love the fact that he is so very clearly not over Nigella.

So she may have to pay him £600,000. She may not be scared, but she isnt going to want to have to do that.
Perhaps just best if she just gets on and does that quietly.

He seems relentless I can't see a quiet cheque in the post style transaction satisfying him.

He has already said he doesn't care about money and it is obvious from the evidence that this is the case. If he cared he would have kept track of it. She is not going to get him out of her hair by paying him off.

To be fair the BBC seemed to be speculating about what CS might do, not referring to something he has actually threatened since the trial finished. Has he said anything publicly since yesterday?

My BIL was in a car with CS and a couple of others, when a white van cut the car up. CS got the chaffer to pursue the white van, did a hard stop on it, and CS wound down the window, and said to the van driver 'if you ever do that to me again, I will hunt you down and have you killed.'

My BIL said there wasn't a single person in the car who didn't absolutely believe him when he said it.

Beryl Mooney wrote a page of sanctimonious judgmental nonsense about Nigella today in the Daily Fail- nauseating the way these post menopausal old bag writers ride on the coat tails of a more successful woman.

I am post menopausal. I don't go about making nasty capital out of a younger and more successful woman poorly disguised as 'concern for the children'.

And it always seems to be sourer older women and men who write the most sanctimonious columns. They seem to have a memory wipe about their own often misspent younger days.

You can say that again. Ever since those photos at Scott's in the summer, everything that Saatchi has said or done has made me think, "When in a hole, stop digging."

You can imagine how popular he's going to be if he brings a civil case against Nigella. But it makes me wonder if this is how he leant on her to report the Grillos to the police: "If you don't report them, then I will go after you for the money." (I realise the reporting to the police predates them splitting up but you can still imagine him using it as leverage.) And so the whole case played out with her as an unwilling witness against two people she was once quite fond of. And him at the same time stuck between wanting to destroy her and wanting the Grillos to be found guilty - but not able to do both.
