The last thread says all I need to know about those in the system. It also the most legally dangerous thread I have ever seen on mumsnet. I hope someone has been through the posts for libel risk. It also entirely one sided and biased and makes me laugh.

The defensiveness of those involved in this area will hopefully disappear once we have the openness that JH and indeed many others are seeking and obtaining as the judges increasingly accept that it helps everyone to understand what are very difficult decisions - parents, children and lawyers and social workers and expert witnesses in this field.

It will continue to be important always to get to the facts and where possible publish the facts. I continue to believe that almost any of us could have our children removed if the state set its mind to that. If publishing more decisions and giving rights to parents and those involved and the children to write what they like on twitter, facebook and the like and to let parents and children even when separated communicate and talk about any issues they choose will help then let us hope the law continues down that course.

"The research suggests that managing on a low income
makes good family functioning more difficult and can
affect the quality of parent–child relationships. Whether
or not poverty itself causes stress, it can affect parents’
ability to manage other stressful events and difficulties.
While there is no clear-cut evidence to show that
parents in poverty are more likely to engage in practices
such as physical violence against their children, a
correlation has been identified between family income
and children being removed from their parents’ care
(Barth et al., 2006)"

Er... I know maryz, that exactly what I said in my post (did that not come across?)

Spero · 10/12/2013 22:29

ENOUGH.

some less tired than I must continue this weary battle.
Will check my email tomorrow.

Good night.

MadameDefarge · 10/12/2013 22:29

no John, if you want to suggest something on this thread, you must provide the evidence, or a link to it on this thread.

Unless you do I will just assume you are making it up. Again.

If I say for example, John Hemming had an affair while married and got a woman pregnant, who then had the baby, then had an tussle with his LA about it I would obviously link to the documentary evidence for that assertion.

Do you want me to link to it John? And the rather sad cat-stealing story too?

Also, as an aside, how did you manage to conduct 26 affairs during your 30 year marriage? As your wife alleged in her trial.

You have stamina. I give you that.

johnhemming · 10/12/2013 22:29

If Spero emails me for the stats on children adopted in the year to 31st march 2011 who were taken into care because the parents had a low income I will send it. Not many, but it does happen.

Lilka · 10/12/2013 22:30

Actually forget 'probably', calling your child Joycelynn Aryan Nation IS abusive

cestlavielife · 10/12/2013 22:30

It is very hard to believe that the only reason behind a care order is low income. Unless the parents chose to spend that low income. Only onnThemselves and fail to feed clothe and take their kids to school... In which case the reason is not low income is it?

Spero · 10/12/2013 22:31

Claw - I agree with every word of that.

It is a more elegant way of saying what I said I few posts back. Low income can lead to stress which can lead to child abuse which can lead to care proceedings.

Low income is NOT BY ITSELF a reason for care proceedings. But this is what JH alleges.

MadameDefarge · 10/12/2013 22:31

you is such a tease, John.

Spero · 10/12/2013 22:33

Why do I have to email you?

I am asking right now. If you have the proof, send it.

If I am a mad hysterical harridan who is wrong about you, prove it.

Or please just shut up and go away.

Spero · 10/12/2013 22:33

Really good night now.

cestlavielife · 10/12/2013 22:33

Mostl parents will sacrifice themselves to give their children what they need. www.jrf.org.uk/media-centre/parents-make-sacrifices-cover-high-costs-child-rearing

MadameDefarge · 10/12/2013 22:36

will no one think of my poor child? please someone, call ss on me. I'm on benefits, I have MH issues, surely my gorgeous 13 year old 13 month ds is a candidate for adoption? I am a single parent. Atm we live on benefits.

And after all, I only feed him porridge for breakfast, not caviar.

Bits of his school uniform are even second hand (gasp of horror)

Sometimes I force him out of our mice infested home (this is true!) to go to the evil place on the corner and get books gin.

Occasionally I have been known to tell him to make his own sandwich.

The shame. The shame.

CarpeVinum · 10/12/2013 22:40

John, please explain your claim that children are taken into care solely based on their parents political views?

It may have something to do with this....

there's a bit of dark muttering at the bottom that says....

Perhaps you can detect some purpose in ' the Gestapo' targeting of John Hemmings MP !

(the GESTAPO bit refers to SS wanting to put John Hemming's first child with his mistress on the at risk register)

All our elected representatives are similarly at risk.

Perhaps some of our politicians will now wake up from their deep slumber.

It sounds like somebody has a bad case of Illuminati-itus to me.

claw2 · 10/12/2013 22:40

Spero, I wouldn't read it like that, I read it as there is no clear cut evidence that parents in poverty are more likely to engage in practices such as child abuse. However a correlation has been identified between family income and children being removed from their parents’ care.

Why?

Lilka · 10/12/2013 22:42

I receive some benefits. I'm single. I'm low income. I've had depression in the past. I'm in contact with social services on a pretty regular basis! Oh good God, I'm a great candidate to have my kids kidnapped. Now you're all panicking about me!!

Oh no wait, I'm left wing. It's all okay people, you can stop worrying now

MadameDefarge · 10/12/2013 22:46

lilka, don't worry about it. I just promise to vote for whatever party looks like winning and they promise to leave me alone.

Because that would work, wouldn't it?

MadameDefarge · 10/12/2013 22:47

In fact Lilka, maybe we should start a joint blog about how scared we are that SS might one day become interested in stealing our great lumpen teenagers babies.

MadameDefarge · 10/12/2013 22:48

Because who knows, maybe being left wing will be a sign of child abuse in the very near future????

MadameDefarge · 10/12/2013 22:49

Maryz is going to come and tell me to go to bed soon. Grin

Am I at risk with my alligence to the Vote For The Senile Hamster party ?

johnhemming · 10/12/2013 22:52

The ssda903 tracks the reason children are taken into care and can be used to analyse those adopted. Hence there are stats on those adopted that were taken into care because of low parental income.
