In the trial prosecution evidence. Aha.

OP posts:

Evidence that she married him for his wonga, other than you not liking her?

TheDoctrineOfWho · 27/11/2013 18:06

Interesting username, mrswarbuoys, what inspired it?

mrswarbouys · 27/11/2013 18:25

If you read and understood my previous post you'd have an idea what I think her motivations to marry the awful CS were. Also, I wouldn't lose any sleep over poor Nige if I were you. She'll come out of it with a nice few quid.

I for one will be thinking of her stuffing her face in her Caribbean Vila while I'm in the queue at the post office - worried whether I can afford to put a slice of ham in my children's pasta tonight.

areyoutheregoditsmemargaret · 27/11/2013 18:37

lala My understanding is John Diamond was a popular chap but was not always terribly nice to Nigella, especially when he was ill. It's very common, sadly, for people with terminal cancer to lash out at those they love. Again, I feel sorry for her, and those who think because she's rich she's not allowed to have problems are not showing much empathy.

TheDoctrineOfWho · 27/11/2013 18:59

You made some comment about being uaddicted to fame etc. Still no evidence. She's famous for being her, not for being Mrs Saatchi, and I think wasn't short of a bob or two from her own earnings.

Anyhow, whatever motivated their marriage doesn't justify him assaulting her.

Golddigger · 27/11/2013 19:09

This thread doesnt make a whole lot of sense anymore.

VenusDeWillendorf · 27/11/2013 19:18

I agree gold digger. This thread is strange with some very large axes being relentlessly ground.

I have no idea why my previous comment was deleted.

Trinnys drug abuse is in the public record, and whether nigella uses prescription or illegal drugs or not, Charles Satcchi violently attacked her, and that is in the public record also, and it doesn't excuse him.

I think Trinny could do much better, but maybe not.

Golddigger · 27/11/2013 19:23

I sort of meant that I have only now seen it, and there are so many deletions that it doesnt make a whole heap of sense.

But you could be right too!

HomeHelpMeGawd · 27/11/2013 20:01

Mrswarbuoys, it is horrible to be worried about how to feed your kids, and it is also horrible to be publicly attacked by an abusive man - physically and mentally. Being rich does not compensate for the latter any way

HomeHelpMeGawd · 27/11/2013 20:01

Should have said "in any way"

Jellykat · 27/11/2013 22:55

This whole business is peeing me off now.. it's everywhere, poor Nigella.

The way i read it, the 2 sisters are accused of fraud, they say Nigella let them have the money to keep quiet about her being a heavy drug user, and surprise surprise CS jumps on it and says he believes them, and it's immediately in every paper and news cast for days as if factual.

Odd that he didn't notice anything over the last 10 years, whilst under the same roof.. odd that it's only coming to light under these circumstances and odd that he was fine about having Nigella involved in his daughters life Hmm

He must've wet himself with glee when he heard the sisters accusations. At last, a chance to sling some shit!

Mellowandfruitful · 28/11/2013 00:02

mrswarbouys it has been noted earlier in the thread that the couple had a prenup which they are abiding by, so Nigella won't 'walk away' with any of Saatchi's money; only her own, which seems fair enough to me. Of course her own wealth is far greater than that of the average person, but she won't profit as such from the divorce.

I can't give a source for this but I'm sure I'd read that John Diamond and Charles Saatchi were friends and that JD had accepted, and even agreed to, the notion of his friend stepping into his shoes after his death. In that light, it starts to make me wonder about Nigella as someone who was badly treated as a child, and then effectively passed from one man to another. I can feel some sympathy for that. Does this ring any bells with anyone else?

mathanxiety · 28/11/2013 00:59

Dervel, the thing about what Nigella stands accused of by the sisters, with CS piling into the ruck (that she used drugs) isn't what the sisters' trial is about. She is being painted as a 'bad character' by their lawyer in order to contribute to the sisters' defence. Only if the jury finds the sisters guilty on all counts they are charged with will NL ever get any sense that she has been believed. She herself is not on trial for drug use, though, and will not have the satisfaction or the shame of a formal verdict on that matter (this time around anyway). AFAIK she can't even go after them for libel due to the context of this allegation about her character and activities. So there will always be some doubt about her in the public eye, gleefully fuelled by her loathsome former husband.

mathanxiety · 28/11/2013 01:01

Mellowandfruitful that sad thought had also occurred to me about NL and her successive husbands.

mathanxiety · 28/11/2013 01:02

MrsWarbuoys, why did you marry MrWarbuoys?

Why not MrWindowCleaner, or MrLord of theRealm, or PrinceHarry?

mrswarbouys · 28/11/2013 09:09

Yes, well I'm bound to meet a Lord Snot' are on my estate in Bermondsey aren't I? Would you like Proof of that too?? Plenty of window cleaners and mini cab drivers mind you..

claig · 28/11/2013 09:31

I don't get the reference to 'Warbuoys'. Can someone explain it please? Is it a character from some soap or other that I refuse to watch on TV?

areyoutheregoditsmemargaret · 28/11/2013 10:14

Mellowandfruitful, bang on and Nigella and CS were seen publicly (no doubt in Scotts) well before JD died. Before she married JD there were some fairly disastrous relationships too Sad

mrswarbouys · 28/11/2013 10:43

Passed from man to man?? Get a grip will you!! She's married twice for fairly long periods and a few relationships before. Obviously abuse and neglect in her background eh?

Mellowandfruitful · 28/11/2013 14:13

Mrswarbouys (from Keeping Up Appearances I assume?) Nigella has said herself she was caused by her mother. I'm not assuming that because of her relationships. Watch out for your own assumptions here.

PestoFlashissimos · 28/11/2013 14:20

Mrs Warbuoys was in One Foot in the Grave wasn't she?

Mellowandfruitful · 28/11/2013 14:51

Abused by her mother, not caused. Gah.

Mellowandfruitful · 28/11/2013 14:53

Oh yes of course, Pesto, wrong sitcom. Double gah.

sloppydrawers · 28/11/2013 16:32

What is the evidence for DV in their relationship, other than the incident at the restaurant?

claig · 28/11/2013 16:49

Thanks for that about Warbuoys. I never watched One Foot in the Grave
