Daily Mail link
Not arrested by Yewtree officers but the allegations came through that probe.

Bloody hell, who next ?

Rulesgirl · 06/05/2013 23:02

God its just one after the other. His daughter will be horrified.( I imagine)

BOF · 06/05/2013 23:04

Good lord. And I didn't realise they'd picked up Jim Davidson either...do you think he was nicked twice? Wink

It's horrible though, isn't it? Basically all the blokes in any seventies edition of the Radio Times.

NotMostPeople · 06/05/2013 23:07

Didn't see that one coming!

50shadesofbrown · 06/05/2013 23:08

That is so depressing. It's like a house of cards, they are all going.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 06/05/2013 23:09

Oh no, I really like Tarby. And I love his daughter Lisa.

This is a witch hunt.

Obv I hope it's not true. Sad

Booyhoo · 06/05/2013 23:11

i'm sure all of his family will be horrified rulesgirl

Witco · 07/05/2013 15:06

I'm shocked. It seems like a who's who of the slebs I grew up with.

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 07/05/2013 15:12

A witch hunt? I'd say it is a hunt for the truth and justice.

Sparhawk · 07/05/2013 15:17

I agree with Kitty this whole 'it's a witch hunt' pisses me off. The victims of celebrity pedophiles have finally realized they will be believed and are coming forward and people are complaining about it.

I'll reserve my sympathy for when he's shown to be guilty or innocent, besides, when Stuart Hall was arrested people were going on about how nice he was and how they couldn't believe it. As if niceness has never been used as a cover to abuse.

monica77798 · 07/05/2013 15:22

I am wondering who will be next.

noddyholder · 07/05/2013 15:24

I agree spar it is not a witch hunt it is a criminal investigation where the victims have suffered in silence for years! I sometimes get the impression that it is inconvenient for the general public to have to accept that these 'heroes' are in fact abusers. Niceness/fame/comedic value do not mean they aren't guilty

scaevola · 07/05/2013 15:25

It does seem like it's one after another.

But all there is at this stage is an arrest.

Sparhawk · 07/05/2013 15:27

noddyholder As unpopular as my opinion may be, I think it's just another symptom of a rape culture.

Bramshott · 07/05/2013 15:28

Holy crap - they were ALL at it!!

noddyholder · 07/05/2013 15:30

I feel the more they are exposed the less people believe it rather than the other way round Sad. It is like compassion fatigue with disasters and war etc soon people will barely register it which is what I think they are hoping for before they have to expose the big guns (politics)

Wishiwasanheiress · 07/05/2013 15:30

I think people miss the point that these are well loved individuals. They are trusted. They are liked. It's betrayal of all of us not just the victims.

Therefore if its them, who else could it be? Mum? Dad? Uncle? Etc?

It's shocking because these wolves were in our living rooms. A lot. Even after writing all that part of me still hopes its not true. As of course monsters are other nasty looking things, not nice men. So hard, I know it, still hope otherwise though...

SageBush · 07/05/2013 15:31

I agree with Sparhawk.

Sparhawk · 07/05/2013 15:36

I suppose as a young person [I'm 23] I didn't grow up with these people as some others did.

DreamsTurnToGoldDust · 07/05/2013 15:38

witch hunt Hmm Angry

No, its about victims of abuse finally being heard and believed, the men arrested may or may not be guilty but they are not above being abusers, they are not above being questioned just because they were some sort of celeb back in the day.

Im glad to see arrests and Im glad that women and men who have had to live with this horrible secret of being abused are being taken seriously.

Booyhoo · 07/05/2013 16:48

i agree noddy and spar

if this was a 'non celeb' paedophile ring being exposed and more and more people being arrested, people would be shocked yes but you wouldn't hear these cries of 'witch-hunt' (which seems to be 'the phrase' for this whole thing).

so whist i accept it is difficult for people to come to terms with the fact that people they grew up in awe of might be involved i think people need to be realistic about this and stop romanticising these people as if it's impossible for them to be guilty because you 'knew' them.

if allegations are made the police have to investigate. the police dont just decide to rock up at the homes of whatever celebs names they can remember from the 70's and arrest them to fill a quota.

Sparhawk · 07/05/2013 17:14

Exactly Booyhoo, the reason why people didn't want to come forwards if exactly for those 'well he's so nice' reasons. Who's going to believe that this lovely entertainer sexually abused me?'

lisaro · 07/05/2013 17:46

I cant believe some of what I've read on here. Sad Would it be a 'witch hunt' if the victim was you or one of your family? That stupid, uneducated attitude sickens me.
However, do bear in mind that nobody has been convicted yet, apart from the repulsive Stuart Hall.

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 07/05/2013 17:49

I grew up watching these people. I don't think it is a witch hunt. I think justice is better late than never. I just wish savile hadn't got away with it.

Keep hunting out these criminals.

Brave people, keep reporting your experiences-you will now, finally, be heard.

Booyhoo · 07/05/2013 17:57

well said lisaro and kitty
