Sperm donor children win right to trace their fathers

What are your thoughts on this .

I feel for the children that may trace their natural birth fathers, but how will it impact them if they are rejected by someone who doesnt want to be known. Or should you then not donate. It will now make a mans decision to donate that much harder. Why do families then have to suffer the consequences of loosing a child they may have waited a long time for.
I am interested in other views on this.

Paula, in theory all children born as a result of donations of either kind are given their genetic history at 18 so it shouldn't happen, but apparently a lot of them don't know they are donor children, so don't ask, so it could happen. Which is a scary thought.

OMYGOD you go out for the day and create a monster!!! A good discussion had by all and I missed most of it. Taken me nearly an hour to read every post. I must say that I am in no way as articulate and well read as some of you here. But it has been very interesting reading , if not confusing after a long day.
Funny how you start the day with one view and then read another persons take on the subject and you feel different.Especially with regards to the basis of your indentity.I am curious about the nature nurture side of identity and feel that obviously conditioning and upbringing are heavily influential , but I do believe some traits are defo inherited. My Dh is has many similar bahvioys as his father and his father didnt really bring him up at all.

The thought that you could possibly marry your sister, brother was a scary. Or find out you have siblings all over the country eqaully strange.
