I would say not at all. If I were trying to change your views on censorship I might be upset by that.
So, do you think that having my posts censored was a success then? You haven't changed my view, and you've not improved the thread in any measurable way by having my posts removed. All people have to go on now is your and my counterclaims about the deleted posts.
Does it not make sense to leave the 'terrible offence' visible so that others can observe how evil I am for writing out the 'terrible, terrible word' in full? Then we could all bask in the glory of your moral superiority.
Do you think that by using offensive and racist language you have convinced anyone that you have a rational or moderate view?
Unfortunately, since you decided that the combined intellect of Mumsnet was incapable of viewing a 'bad word' without immediately becoming members of the BNP, most people who read this thread will never know. They will be able to tell that you've decided that anyone who disagrees with you is a racist. There's an excellent word for people who are intolerant of the views of others and convinced of the infallibility of their worldview.
I have to say I'm more than a little surprised to find that people are willing to defend the use of one of the most offensive words in the English language but hey each to their own.
I haven't seen anyone 'defend' its use. What I have seen is you roll up, bellow at us all about how evil all Tories are because one councillor used an outdated phrase, and then persistently misunderstand and misinterpret every single valid argument made to you.
