I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for it all and I look forward to hearing it at 2.30pm today.

Obviously EdB isn't in the cabinet and neither was AndyC I was just thinking about scandals this parliament.

Solo, I'm not sure what AW did apart from lobbying and his right wing interests. I got this off wiki (I know :/) as his business interests but I don't know what the ones that aren't obvious, mean, or what they involved.

Todiha Ltd ? active
Danscotia Consulting Ltd ? active
UK Health Ltd ? active
Security Futures ? dissolved
UK Health Supply Services Ltd ? dissolved
UK Health Group Ltd ? dissolved
Fox and Werritty are both shareholders in UK Health Ltd.

starrywillow, go and watch for yourself the BBC interview of Boulter on 11 Oct. He actually says something quite different from your cite from the Evening Standard.

Meeting with Werrity was pre-planned and organised through named lobbying group. According to Boulter in that interview.

But then, Boulter is "a very poor witness and lacking in credibility", according to Fox in the same written article.

So who knows what actually happened, but one thing is sure: no one's off the hook here. Or anywhere near.

starrywillow · 12/10/2011 23:49

It wouldn't work. :( There's just a spinning red circle. Will have another look tomorrow. Maybe LF and the far right wing conspiracy have scuppered the BBC ;)

The inquiry's due on 21st, I should think there'll have to be a statement from DC about it in the Commons.

I have a job which affords me access to sensitive information relating to criminal activity and national security. My husband is very interested in my work and I suppose on rare occasions may be able to offer some helpful insights. But, he has no official clearance, so I do not discuss sensitive information with him and I certainly do not take him along to meetings with me. If I did, I would expect to be sacked and possibly arrested!

I don't think people thinking he is gay is anything to do with distracting from the issue of his "friend" it adds to it, the man is married, if this "friend" is his boyfriend then the marriage was a sham to make him appear more likable to the voters, for some reason MPs seems to think we give a damn about their families, look at Cameron all ways dragging his wife and kids out into the media for no good reason because no one cares, it's got nothing to do with policy.

Misleading the electorate with a sham marriage would be yet another damning insight into what a disgusting little piggy he clearly is.

And Cameron is clearly a complete fucking fool, after the phone hacking you would have thought he'd learn not to jump to the defense of his staff so damn quickly, the longer he keeps him in his job and supports him the more he comes across as a clueless idiot in charge of nothing.

starrywillow · 13/10/2011 11:30

I think you'll find it was EM who was seen at his conference carting about his children, not DC.

Plus, Let's say LF sleeps or has slept with men, how do you know that his wife isn't perfectly ok with it? How do you know that they don't have threesomes? It's none of the electorate's business, it's between him and his wife.

starrywillow · 13/10/2011 11:31

Tianc, still a spinning red circle. :/

Tianc · 13/10/2011 11:36

'Tis downloading in seconds here, starrywillow, I checked now and after your post last night too. Sorry, not a techie so don't know what to suggest.

starrywillow · 13/10/2011 11:42

Me neither. Grin I could probably have a look for another page with it on a little later, but it doesn't really matter so I'll just believe you and wonder why the standard got it wrong.

Solopower · 13/10/2011 21:18

Thanks, Starrywillow (for finding out about AW's companies). Looks like I was wrong about his 'defence' company - don't know where I got that from ...

\link{http://ianbone.wordpress.com/2007/04/15/liam-the-liar/\this from 2007 is interesting} (& very scathing)

LF is a total fantasist apparently Hmm

'During his time as a junior hospital doctor in Glasgow Liam claims to have worked a 94 hour shift during which he performed nine caesareans with no sleep at all. Often this goes up or down a few hours but remarkable, all the same, to have performed nine non-elective caesareans in casualty in so few hours. But it was even more dramatic. He was working there at the time of the notorious Glasgow ice-cream wars and dealt with the horrific casualties. Whether this was at the same time as the caesareans is not clear ? but, by golly, you wouldn?t put it past the fellow! Dr.Kildare meets Quincy!'

MooncupGoddess · 13/10/2011 21:38

Great link Ponders. The most distressing image of all is:

'At her 80th birthday party the ever-pushy Dr. Fox tried to take over the lead singing of Happy Birthday to Thatcher from David Davis. Tory Blair had to step in to separate the squabbling brown nosers and lead the singing himself!'

Can you imagine?

Ponders · 13/10/2011 21:55

I actually couldn't believe that one, mooncup - it was too spitting image to be borne [gag]

GeorgeEliot · 14/10/2011 16:32

well he's gone now.

Teetik · 14/10/2011 16:34

I remember seeing Fox talking, ages ago, whilst in opposition, and thought 'he is an absolute delusional nutter' so I feel very vindicated to read about his gobshitedness.
I couldn't believe it when he got a position in cabinet. He's a classic delusional.

GeorgeEliot · 14/10/2011 16:35

"As you know, I have always placed a great deal of importance on accountability and responsibility. As I said in the House of Commons on Monday, I mistakenly allowed the distinction between my personal interest and my government activities to become blurred. The consequences of this have become clearer in recent days. I am very sorry for this.

I have also repeatedly said that the national interest must always come before personal interest. I now have to hold myself to my own standard. I have therefore decided, with great sadness, to resign from my post as secretary of state for defence ? a position which I have been immensely proud and honoured to have held."

vigglewiggle · 14/10/2011 16:37

Phew!

CatIsSleepy · 14/10/2011 20:30
