I need to pop out for the paper, now I'll have to time it around the Politics Show.

anyone watch andy marr? imho Ed Milliband was making all the right noises until he said Tom Baldwin (his ex NI spin doctor) has given him assurances that he was not part of hacking - when he (EM) had said only moments earlier that you can't trust the assurances given by NI people. Errrr - bit of a fail there, EM...

sorry, Norman, but NOTW sell women and sex everyday. Ok, they might not traffic women, but they publish glamour shots and (used to?) have pages of adverts at the back for escorts (and similar).

They're part of a system that puts the sexualisation and objectification of women right at the centre of what they do, from their sleb pages to their sex scandals.

teej · 10/07/2011 10:05

Oh before I take the dogs kids to the park for a runaround - good luck Katie! will hopefully catch it on iplayer later.
to quote another brilliant poster upthread - when MNers can't agree whether or not breast is best, the fact we are unanimous on this speaks volumes...

That sleazy tabloid hack (Paul Macmullen) is on again, Sunday Morning Live, BBC1. Why is he on every fucking programme?
Surely there must be other sleazy hacks that they can bring in.

freybean · 10/07/2011 10:10

and why does he keep wearing the same fucking suit????

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:10

The Far-Too-Much-Greater-Spotted Paul McMullen is sullying the BBC airwaves again.

Any chance that a complaint to the Beeb on his every presence this week would actually get shot of him?

NormanTebbit · 10/07/2011 10:15

Ach I know, but it's Sunday morning and I'm feeling sentimental. Will be back to normal after my fourth cup of coffee

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:19

bless ye norman!

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:21

letter to beeb:

Paul McMullen has been interviewed on far too many BBC programmes this week with reference to phone hacking. It seems that every time I turn on the News or a news programme, Paul McMullen is there running the same arguments and antagonising other interviewees. He has not been employed by the News of the World for several years and has extremely limited knowledge of the current state of affairs.

He seems to be being wheeled out to provide a tabloid journalism perspective to every argument, but is objectionable, hateful and lacks coherence.

I think the BBC is guilty of bias, by employing him so regularly this week (no less than 10 appearances so far); poor standards of interviewing and presenting, as too often his abhorrent views go unchallenged; Too Much Coverage - for someone who is so far removed from the current activities it seems disproportionate and unecessary to have his view on the situation repeated over and over again.

I would be grateful if you would stop featuring this man in your programming.

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:23

*and he keeps wearing the same jeffing suit!!!

freybean · 10/07/2011 10:32

did i just hear that right?

mcmullen has been asked by scotland yard 3 times to be arrested? as he feels he has done nothing wrong?

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:33

well, well, well...

paul mcmullen just admitted on Sunday Morning Live that he has been asked 3 times this week to present himself to the police to be arrested. he said he didn't want to go, so hasn't... yet. apparently, that also explains (according to him) why he has only worn that beige suit - he said he hasn't been home for five days.

live on air arrest? please!

freybean · 10/07/2011 10:34

should i call crimestoppers and tell them he can be found at the bbc

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:37

Observer headline:

"McMullen shielded from arrest by Beeb"

NormanTebbit · 10/07/2011 10:38

His actions seem unhinged, don't they

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:40

he seems desperate to share his delusional "goodness" and gossip with the world before he's banged up.

what's the chances his trying to wreck his potential trial by putting out too much info into the public domain, so there's bias from potential future jurors?

Empusa · 10/07/2011 10:43

Bloody hell!

NormanTebbit · 10/07/2011 10:43

I don't think his behaviour is that rational. he seems to be seeking some kind of absolution on national tv

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:44

ooh, has the beeb just removed mcmullen from the programme. he's disappeared

BornSicky · 10/07/2011 10:45

i think you might be right norman.
