Mudoch will fly in this weekend to as he is "deeply concerned that the campaign against his company led by the Mumsnet website and the Church of England"

Fuck me. 1500 posts are capable of bringing down a billionaire operation!!!!! Who would have thought it?

Or perhaps.... it's the UK in general, bloggers, twitterers, facebookers, decent journalists and decent people voting with their wallet and the like who are united in condemnation of his vile empire. Mumsnet is fab of course, who can doubt that!

But maybe then, good ladies of Islington, we can do somefink about removing the red red shoes of the Wicked Witch of the Sun? Wink

"deeply concerned that the campaign against his company led by the Mumsnet website and the Church of England"

Oh for fuck's sake Grin

BenHer · 09/07/2011 21:24

What a pathetic old bastard. The emperors new clothes have completely disintegrated.

freybean · 09/07/2011 21:25

when did the CoE get involved?

stupefy · 09/07/2011 21:25

"deeply concerned that the campaign against his company led by the Mumsnet website and the Church of England"

Shock
Ormirian · 09/07/2011 21:40

Paul Mullen seems to be an entirely objectionable individual..... Hmm Shouldn't be surprised.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 09/07/2011 21:41

Well I hope he read my posts about what it feels like to have your dead child's stuff messed with.

Not that the old git would feel a whit of remorse.

How odd that he mentions Mumsnet and the CoE (cripes I am a member of both) but leaves out Facebook and Twitter. Hardly fair on all those cyber warriors wearing their fingers to the bone over the last week.

He's decided to try to whip up feeling against women with the MN bit and from those who are opposed to religion in an attempt to get everyone arguing amongst themselves to deflect the focus on NI.

piprabbit · 09/07/2011 21:47

I think RM has confused Mumsnet with the Mother's Union.

freybean · 09/07/2011 21:49

but mumsnet and the church

thats his excuse???

Empusa · 09/07/2011 21:51

Yep, far more reasonable to suggest MN and the church have caused the problems, rather than his own company breaking the law and forgetting about these little things like morals.

LucaBrasi · 09/07/2011 21:52

So now, who has a good recipe for toad in the hole?

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 09/07/2011 21:53

Well things aren't going to plan fit him are they, he would have got away with it if it wasn't for us meddling women (sorry, have watched too much Scooby Doo)

freybean · 09/07/2011 21:54

milly dowlers family and hugh grant are meeting clegg on monday

franke · 09/07/2011 22:03

Err, this is getting a bit surreal now. Does RM seriously think we have that much influence? Or are NI trying to pin this on the Guardian through its connection with Justine? It's all got a bit weird.

freybean · 09/07/2011 22:06

i'm starting to think that too franke

freybean · 09/07/2011 22:11

why is the end on notw being treated like its something sad, yet we've been told 'there is worst to come?'

Nancy66 · 09/07/2011 22:13

The very idea that RM has the faintest idea that Mumsnet even exists is laughable...

Ponders · 09/07/2011 22:15

the mumsnet bit isn't in quotes so who knows if he actually thinks that?

(or if the writers just thought it made a better story Hmm)

mrsdonkeybucket · 09/07/2011 22:16

I am Shock

Does RM really think, what with FB and Twitter and goodness knows how many other websites and forums, that our little thread was the sole reason (along with the C of E ? what ?!) that the NOTW has ended ?

If that's the case, why is RB telling (now ex) NOTW staff that there is "worse to come" ?

Have a feeling the Police have a very hard job on their hands though, trying to find any evidence to actually charge anyone with anything.

mrsdonkeybucket · 09/07/2011 22:17

And I am not sad at all that the NOTW has ended.

And I do wryly smile at the thought of Milly's parents meeting 'the Deputy PM' on Monday, for what purpose ?

What will he do, exactly ? Apologise ?

Oooh, it makes me Angry.

OhYouBadBadCrookshanks · 09/07/2011 22:19

very surreal.

the campaign against the bskyb bid started a long time before mumsnet got involved.
