apparently by deleting Milly's messages her family still had some hope that she might still be alive

luckily we pay for the guardian direct - although i'm sure if they could ban the guardian they would try Wink

headfairy · 07/07/2011 19:02

Oh they'd find a way... not sure it would be legal but they'd find a way :o

Ah right headfairy. It was being reported on the guardian as part of NOTW coverage, hence my assumption.

headfairy · 07/07/2011 19:35

Well certainly the NUJ have balloted for strike action on those dates because of compulsory redundancies.

flippinada · 07/07/2011 19:44

I see. Obviously nothing to do with NOTW then.

bkgirl · 07/07/2011 19:44

You are right Andy Coulson, Rebekah Brooks, James Murdoch.....perverting the course of justice etc

ThisIsANiceCage · 07/07/2011 19:46

Loving James Murdoch. He's just bound himself and NI more closely to Rebekah Brooks. They don't get it do they?

This is like the MPs just before they understood what the expenses scandal really meant. That some of them would be going to jail.

thederkinsdame · 07/07/2011 19:48

So... The fact that the business has been closed down presumably means they can start shredding any paperwork they no longer need... Will it give them any legal protection if the paper no longer exists can they be investigated by the police? Have no idea how the law stands on such things.

Once again the bigwigs seem to think we've all had put brains fried. This is not going to appease most people.

Tolalola · 07/07/2011 19:52

From a BBC report here:

"BBC business editor Robert Peston said before the news broke that some of the companies that had been pulling their advertising from the News of the World were shifting it to its sister daily paper, the Sun.

That would suggest that the Sun has not been sullied by the scandal."

flippinada · 07/07/2011 19:54

Breaking news from the Guardian... Andy Coulson about to be arrested and a former senior journalists to be arrested within the next few days.

flippinada · 07/07/2011 19:56

Sorry, rogue 's'...senior journalist.

happygilmore · 07/07/2011 19:57

7 day sun confirmed by bbc

IvyAndGold · 07/07/2011 19:57

a seven day sun. won't be buying that either!

HerBeX · 07/07/2011 19:58

How thick do they think the public are?

How thick are the public?

happygilmore · 07/07/2011 19:59

it'll take over I bet from next week. outrageous

HerBeX · 07/07/2011 20:01

But are the public/ NOTW/ Sun reading public, stupid enough to fall for this? Will it work? Or are even sun readers not that thick?

mrsdonkeybucket · 07/07/2011 20:09

Should there now be a 'campaign' to ask companies not to advertise in The Sun ?

I would also quite like to see the public demand that all newspapers are investigated for this kind of 'journalism'.

happygilmore · 07/07/2011 20:12

Coulson to be arrested tomorrow

Empusa · 07/07/2011 20:22

"How thick do they think the public are?

How thick are the public?"

Er... Confused

I have a horrible feeling that they might actually be that thick.

flippinada · 07/07/2011 20:26

Oi happygilmore you nicked my 'scoop'!

Although no-one noticed it anyway Grin

AwesomePan · 07/07/2011 20:27

Go on then. Scale of 1 to 10. How thick are we as a nation? (can you tell I've been playing with dd?).

1 is where dribbling down one's front is the highest of daily acheivements.

10 is where we are just dead clever.

I am reckoning 4.5.

flippinada · 07/07/2011 20:28

This is a very cynical move on behalf of NI.

And lets not forget that Cameron is in it up to his neck, of course.

headfairy · 07/07/2011 20:29

Awesome I'm definitely a 9.5 :o

OP posts:
AwesomePan · 07/07/2011 20:30

yes and you score 10.0 on delusional abilities.Smile

LucaBrasi · 07/07/2011 20:30

Fuck me, it was Grant Mitchell wot did it.

I forgot Rebekka Wade was married to him, and she battered him too.

She'd better watch, Peggy is still 'anging aboooouuut
