A NoTW source who cannot be named said that when Rebekah Brooks announced the newspaper was closing she was not crying, and was accompanied by security.
She is said to have told shocked staff she was proud of the newspaper's long history but that they were closing. She was said to have been out of the door again within a couple of minutes.
The source wasn't in the meeting, but has been told what happened by colleagues.

the only language people like this understand is money. I have never bought the NOTW but joined the campaign against its advertisers. I have signed a petition against Murdoch's bskyb takeover and I won't be buying the Times or the Sun. But now I need to investigate just what else is in the Murdoch empire and how I ensure I don't contribute to his finances.
