Just seen this on the news. She was queuing for lunch when three other girls in her class stabbed her with scissors.

I think her cuts are superficial but still shocking. The school has a good reputation locally too.

Waiting for local news to find out more.

I was really shocked at this, dp works in camberley and we were thinkign of moving there.

children today and the respect they have for each other and anyone really is just getting worse. Children have to much leniency these days. Something needs to be done.

NomDePlume · 11/11/2005 13:18

Terrifying. I saw it on the tv news about an hour ago, they said that one of the wounds was 4cm deep, that's far from superficial ! I think her injuries are serious but not life threatening.

homemama · 11/11/2005 13:19

Yes Kelly, I had posted and sent you a CAT to say how nice it was.

We're about 15min drive from Camberley but I try to avoid it cause it's always so busy.

Gosh NomDePlum, I thought they said 5cm long.

And where did the scissors come from? It sounds horribly pre-arranged to me.

The latest report I heard said that she needed surgery.

Kelly1978 · 11/11/2005 13:21

homemamma - I never got your cat. Thanks for sending it though. We ended up in ascot, most of the suitable places available in camberley seemed to be in the old dean area.

Poor girl prob scarred for life. I heard somewhere it was in her eye.

homemama · 11/11/2005 13:22

Yes, she's in surgery now it said. Though they hope to release her later today or tomorrow morning.

Kelly, We're in Hartley Wintney which is a really pretty village to visit on a Sunday for a walk. They play cricket on the green on Sundays too.

Sorry to hijack my own thread!

Apparently the girl had a history of being bullied and the attacker and her gang grouped around the victim with the scissors and said 'I'm either going to cut your hair, or cut you' (paraphrasing). Then she stabbed this poor young girl several times.

Miaou · 11/11/2005 13:28

here

Kathlean · 11/11/2005 13:34

And the government are planning to make under 16's not responsible for their actions.

These girls knew exactly what they were doing.

It's not even a one off, they were bullies and should be punished as fully as possible.

Caligula · 11/11/2005 13:35

"According to Natashia there was only one teacher in the area and they were trying to deal with a fight elsewhere in the cafeteria."

Understaffing, underfunding.

Such an attack can only take place where supervision isn't happening.

Caligula · 11/11/2005 21:24

this poor girl has been so unfortunate

The poor girl. I bet her parents could kill the girls involved - I know what I would want to do to anyone who did that to mine.

I'd really like to know what the mothers of the attackers think. I'd be horrified if my child did that to someone else. I know most people don't think about the parents of the perpetrators, but I always feel really sorry for them as well, in case they're decent people who are trying their hardest and find that their child has done something as dreadful as this. And of course, no-one ever has any sympathy for them, people assume it must be their fault because they've brought their children up badly. I just wonder?

Caligula · 11/11/2005 21:34

And Camberley's such a posh area, isn't it? Not the sort of thing you expect to happen in a leafy Surrey school.

Kathlean · 11/11/2005 22:00

posh lol I live there (-:

monkeytrousers · 11/11/2005 22:01

Poor poor girl!

..but I really think her dad should change his name. God, what kind of childhood did he have?

It is very bad form for the headmaster to word the statement like that, isn't it? There's no excuse, it's just psychopathic behavior.

beckybrastraps · 11/11/2005 22:52

Oh thank god I'm not the only one who was thinking that about the dad's name. I just couldn't concentrate on the news when the caption came up. I feel wicked!

ruty · 12/11/2005 09:36

headmaster sounds awful.

Blandmum · 12/11/2005 09:48

The very worrying thing is that this girl attacked another in a very public place.....she must have known that she would be caught but I assume thought there would be no consequences to her following the attack.

Which is very worrying
