And not long to go. I'm so delighted for her - what excellent news :). I can't wait to see what sort of a father ToryBoy makes.

Please don't let me be the only Lucy Mangan fan here.

Glad to come across fellow fans :). I saw the piece yesterday - I feel so pathetically involved at this stage that I do hope she keeps writing about becoming a parent etc. Zoe Williams did an entertaining column along similar lines - and she knew when to stop, as well, which is always a good thing.

Ah hassled- here is your thread. we are two of her biggest fans, clearly !

Hassled · 01/05/2011 20:58

I'm a bit embarrassed about quite how much of a fan I am. This is the closest I've ever come to a celeb crush; must be some mid-life menopausal thing :o.

Me too, I secretly wish that LM was my best friend Blush Her column is the first thing I read in my Saturday Guardian.

MmeLindt · 03/05/2011 11:25

I follow her on Twitter so knew that she was pregnant. She does not gush on about it a la that irritating actress whose name I have forgotten.

herbaltea · 04/05/2011 14:24

I find her writing annoying to be honest (I usually give up during the first meandering paragraph) but all respect to her for not mining her own pregnancy for column-fodder. I get the feeling she isn't exactly smitten by the whole pregnancy thang (and being on crutches with SPD, who can blame her!) She' s planning on being as drugged up as possible for the birth and it looks like it's something she's not terribly keen on over-sharing with people.

goodegg · 07/05/2011 11:47

Ooh thanks for posting, massive fan of hers too. Fab article.

amandabusy · 07/05/2011 20:03

love her too..
am searching on line to try and find confirmation that she has safely popped him out but can't find anything??

SpringHeeledJack · 07/05/2011 20:08

hope it's not going to be a Tory

and hope she's going to come on here a bit when she's on mat leave. I luuuurve her. And Zoe Williams.

SpringHeeledJack · 07/05/2011 20:09

...she did write in her column in the magazine this week that she would either be having him or have had her baby by now...

FessaEst · 07/05/2011 20:19

Glad I'm not the only one to have had a google to find out if she's had it yet after reading her column today!

Paulthebread · 09/05/2011 20:50

I've been a fan of LM's for a long time - and like the rest of you I was surprised to see she was 8 and a half months pregnant. I was googling her to see if she'd had the baby when I came across this thread.

I don't think she's had it yet, but I'll keep an eye on here to see when it arrives.

I first began to appreciate her when I read her weekly children's book reviews (I've got three grandchildren, 9, 7, and 5) in the Family section of the Saturday Guardian. (It's not been quite the same since she stopped doing it.)

Hope it all goes well with her - I can't wait to see her articles on how she and Toryboy (especially Toryboy) are coping with parenthood!

(My sympathy to all you SPD sufferers - had to google it, then stopped reading very quickly!)

Paul

indiechick · 09/05/2011 21:05

She had the baby last week.

Ponders · 16/05/2011 21:14

she tweeted a bit ago

'Torybaby' born last Thurs. Bad time but out of hospital now. Thank you all so much for your lovely messages.>>

They have really helped to lift my spirits now that I am (semi-) compos mentis again xxx

(she's a twitter pro - does arrows & everything!)

lisianthus · 17/05/2011 07:01

She's great. I love her column too. Sorry to hear she had such a rotten time with it, but it's lovely she is back home now with her baby.

Worrying that she is now surrounded by Tories on all sides, though. ;)

amandabusy · 20/05/2011 20:59

v glad to hear he is safely out and looking forward to her witty words on the delivery process! come back to work soon!!

BPisme · 20/05/2011 21:14
