And not long to go. I'm so delighted for her - what excellent news :). I can't wait to see what sort of a father ToryBoy makes.

Please don't let me be the only Lucy Mangan fan here.

Never heard of her

VivaLeBeaver · 26/04/2011 19:08

Who is she?

AgentProvocateur · 26/04/2011 19:20

I read that she is on crutches with a pelvic problem, so I did wonder... How do you know?

She is a very good columnist - writes for The Guardian, and either Red or She, I think, too.

BikeRunSki · 26/04/2011 19:31

Hi Hassled I didn't know either, and I read her column every Saturday! I knew she was on crutches, but not why. She is obviously less shouty and "look at me" than her Guardian colleague Zoe Williams, who can not seem to blow her nose without writing about it.

nethunsreject · 26/04/2011 19:32

I like LM too.

I remember the column about PGP, yes, but didn't twig.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 26/04/2011 19:36

Never heard of her.

suzikettles · 26/04/2011 19:39

I love LM. She's v v funny.

Kudos to her for not documenting every second of her pregnancy in print.

bluerodeo · 26/04/2011 19:42

Oh I think she's very up herself. Stopped reading her column ages ago

BigSooz · 26/04/2011 19:44

I lie her column. Had no idea she was upduffed. I hope she doesn't start maundering on about it, though. I can just about hack Zoe Williams, because She Is Funny and I Love Her, but please no more 'I am the first woman to have a baby' navel gazing...

BigSooz · 26/04/2011 19:44

like her column

Hassled · 26/04/2011 19:49

Twitter was my source. Not that I tweet, but DS2 follows GuardianG2 and they said she was on maternity leave, and then I looked at her feed and she talks about it. 9 days to go. I wondered re the whole pelvic problem thing as well.

coccyx etc - she's a very funny/clever Guardian columnist and does TV reviews and columns etc. Well worth looking for.

She hasn't written any column about it afaik, but I don't always get the weekend guardian. She has been nesting though as she has mentioned the work done on her house. I'm not much of a fan any more, her back page column is less funny than her shorter half pager she used to do.

mondayschild · 26/04/2011 20:31

Ah, makes sense now about the pelvic problem she was talking about a few weeks ago. Congratulations to her and Toryboy Smile

Lucifera · 27/04/2011 14:56

I love her writing and had no idea she was pregnant. Hope she isn't on leave for too long. Particularly enjoy her writing about children's books, like the series she did in Guardian Family a while ago.

Ha! Feel very pleased as I thought she was, a pelvic problem that's definitely going to get better... Hope everything goes well for her.

pirateparty · 27/04/2011 21:36

She did a great webchat on here. I read her column most weeks and did not know she was pregnant; I am sure she hasn't written about it. Nice not to go down the 'I'm the only one to ever have a baby route', I agree.

I have SPD too but not on crutches - poor her, and you StayFr0sty. I just can't sleep much or walk too far, but not enough to need crutches so far. I really feel for those who have it that bad as it's miserable enough having it mildly.

I didn't know either, but I love her column in the Guardian Weekend mag. Lovely news :)

ogredownstairs · 28/04/2011 17:42

I think she's great too - I did wonder whether it was SPD, but she hadn't mentioned pregnancy in her columns so wasn't sure.

chipstick10 · 28/04/2011 19:49

who is toryboy?

DilysPrice · 28/04/2011 19:56

Toryboy is her husband. She wrote at long and amusing length about the wedding, but not a whisper about the pg in either the Guardian or her Stylist column. (in which she is portrayed in a presumably highly inaccurate full length photo).

gingercat12 · 01/05/2011 19:30

Oh, I assumes she was pregnant and having SPD, but DH thought I am just jumping to conclusions.

All the best for her and Toryboy.

GeorgeEliot · 01/05/2011 20:43

Big piece about her pregnancy in yesterday's Guardian weekend mag. Not her column, separate article.

sunchild77 · 01/05/2011 20:51

I didnt know she was knocked up either.. Love her column and the kids books stuff too :)
Big fan here too :)
