Honestly. That would be about £75 per second.

I know a few ppl that pay £40 every week to see a football match so £20 isn't too bad but then I live with a day trip to London and dont have to factor accomadation.

The Tennis is not bad, centre court tickets for £35 for the first few rounds which is alot cheaper than the normal Wimbledon prices.

We'd have probably tried to go if Paris had gone, becasue we like the city but won't go to London.

We'll wait for the Commonwealth Games on our door step in 2014 :)

It is a one in a long time experience. I was a volunteer in Sydney and I can honestly say it was worth quitting my job over. I tell everyone I know they should volunteer.
As for tickets, well buy the cheap ones. Go to the less popular events. I went to the waterpolo, synchro, equestrian, athletics, and beach volleyball (now that is just a fab fit man watching party).

There is no way we could afford that sort of money to watch one race. For 5 of us that would be £3625.

I remember going to the Manchester Commonwealth games and enjoying the athletics at the City Of Manchester stadium which is now home to Manchester City.

I have been to see a few cycling events at Manchester Velodrome which my 8 year old son enjoyed. I'm paying for him to have a session on one of the bikes for his birthday next year.

My hubby, son (8 yrs) and I go to watch City play at home. its about £25-40 for adults and my son can get in for £10. They have a great family atmosphere before the match where there are penalty shoot-outs, mini-games and competitions to be mascots and player escorts in the programme. We now have a season ticket for home games (works out a lot cheaper) so it guarantees a seat but next year we may have to pay as we go as Luke will be playing football matches at different times on a Saturday.

I am really shocked at the prices. I though it would be a tenner each or something for routine events. I am not sure we will be going now Sad I feel quite left out as we never got to the Dome either.

Bit pointless me having a tube ticket included as I can't use it anyway. It's not exactly an accessible Olympics IMO.

No I wouldn't pay that much for the 100m final but DC and I are planning to see as much as we can of both the Olympics and Paralympics (DH not that interested though may be persuaded!)

Have been putting £10 a month away for past 2 years to help towards cost and DC already drawing up list of events they want to see - tennis, diving, gymnastics, athletics, rowing, beach volleyball, wheelchair basketball (and now rugby!) so far.

Burst into tears when London was announced as knew DC would be perfect age to be involved and remember it forever (will be 9 and 6)
Counting the days now :)
