Hi everyone

It snowed here earlier, but we seem to have more of an ice issue, everything melting then freezing again

I can see over the fields to the main road and everything moving very slowly

dcs back tomorrow but I might keep them off as I have not been across the door and dd is at hosp on Friday and that usually results in a day off anyway

Got abit more of VAT return done
and am now trying to motivate myself to start dinner

CC did you enjoy desperate housewives last night, can't wait for next week

PlumBumandBaublesMum · 06/01/2010 16:44

Wasting - what's brain gym? i couldn't do Home Ed, though i am fussy about schools and shudder at some stuff i read on MN.

Had more snow so went out with DS1 and had lots of fun play made a (sort of) snowman and 'buried' some garden toys to hunt for tomorrow - ds's idea!

I realised today that it's nearly DS2's 2nd birthday (end of this month) and we had planned to start TTCing then. Need to try and have a serious chat with Dh about it this weekend to decide what to do, go for it, wait til things are more settled with DS2, or what...

Ah. And Snowday draws to a close. Hope everyone is nice and warm.

Ali - that sounds like a nightmare . Lets hope they can make it to their house and leave you in peace.

Berti - DS is 3.5 and is gradually getting better with baths and hair washing. He got a Bob the builder bath toy for xmas which really helps him actually want to go for a bath. Will get a link to it in a sec.

BertieBotts · 06/01/2010 19:47

That looks good Halfmum. There is a similar (simpler) one in ELC which I got for a friend's DS for Christmas and she says he has so much fun with it that I might get one for DS too. It's this one.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 06/01/2010 20:13

That looks like a good one too. The bob one is quite big. Someone also bought DS a man in a canoe which I won't recommend as it sinks in water .

JustKeepSparkling · 06/01/2010 20:31

I like both of those, though we have loads of crap toys already in the bathroom

Hello!

JKS, brain gym is a system of pseudo-scientific exercises that supposedl help learning. Includes bobbing he head up and down o increase blood-flow to the brain ec.

Well, the tree's down, so I'll clean up and hoover round tomorrow. Not sure if we're going to toddler group in the morning, so mai not ne online first thing.

Hope u all get the weather u would prefer. :-D

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/01/2010 23:35

Wasting - is that brain gym common in schools then? Sounds very odd! Although all exercise is to be encouraged I suppose...
I could not Home Ed, I would feel very isolated I think, but I really admire people who do it.

JustKeepSparkling · 07/01/2010 06:50

Sounds v odd....

I know how much i already enjoy/appreciate the time when DS1 is at pre-sch, and how much he loves it too, so although dreading 'letting him go' off to school, i know i'll like the 'time off'.
How to HE parents manage to get 'time off' i always wonder? or don't they need it? and does it make me a worse parent for wanting it?

Thurs:

  • all up 3up, breakfasted & dressed

Gosh - been busy on here since I posted last night.

Bathtoys - they multiply on the side of the bath til there are just too many of the critters.

JKS - TTC might be one more thing for you to deal with when you have so much else on. Unless you are prepared just to wing it and see what happens .

Re school etc DS is already there and is only 3.5. He is doing 3 half school days followed by Meitherin nursery which is also based at the school and he can do a full day of school on monday. He is loving it. They do lots of play/learning. Yesterday he didn't want to come home as they had him in waterproof trousers and he was playing in the snow. I am glad cos it means I can have some time with DD while he is there. I am not brave enough for Home Ed.

Trying to get a quick clean/tidy before going to town in 30 mins...

WME wow big respect to you for even considering home ed. I know for me I really like the fact that someone else (preschool)is now doing the educational stuff with dd 3 days a week so | don't feel guilty if I only watch dvd's/read books/let her play on her own most some days. Mind you I remember when she was 2 not even being able to imagine letting her go (I think I even started a thread asking if preschool was compulsory)and although most of her friends started at 2.5 I kept her home til she got her free place (she was 3.3 when she started). Glad I did now though cos most of them are bored with preschool now (different one to dd though so maybe not as good)and for dd it is all still fresh and fun
