Ali - that does sound like a dilemma. Hard to say what the best thing to do is? You could see how you get on without them and try some counselling or something if still feeling down??? I know everyone is different as to whether this would work for you. It did work for me when I had PND.

JKS - the excitement continues as the heating stopped working this evening. DH has got it working again fortunately .

Yay for DH getting the heating going!

Wasting - I don't know what happens wrt giving birth and wanting to BF. Tbh that's one of the reasons I want to get off the tablets altogether.
at DS sleeping so early! DS had a 10 minute nap today, that's all and it took me until 9pm to get him settled. He's only 17 months fgs, he should be napping during the day for another year!!

JKS - it does make you think doesn't it? My GP was v.nice about it, she is lovely and very supportive of me still BFing DS. I know she will give me all possible info so that is very reassuring.

We are completely snowed in here, I think we've got almost 20cms. I have declared a 'snow day' for myself, so no jobs this morning. DH is working from home, DS is in his cot looking at books quietly so I've retreated to bed and am thinking about having a sleep!
DS was awake early for him today, 7.15 - I think because he only woke twice in the night (yay!) - so he is looking ready for a nap. V. happy for him to have one this early in the day, should affect bedtime

Clairey - gah don't say that!

Now I have a dillemma, when I took dd to school they said they were probably closing at lunch but they'd review and call me at 11 to let me know if I needed to come and pick her up. If they don't call do I assume they are closing or staying open?

BertieBotts · 06/01/2010 11:55

I really must come back on this thread. My house is a disaster zone

So this is the list of what needs doing desparately:

Clear table in kitchen
Sort washing up
Sweep kitchen floor
Mop kitchen floor
Clean out cat tray + food bowls
Put away food
Sort clothes from holiday (Christmas )
Sort dirty clothes in bedroom
Do a load of washing
Hoover living room
Do DS some lunch
Try to sort out some food for the next few days (thinking a giant chilli in slow cooker!)
Get rid of rubbish piling up everywhere

I have got no TV signal as well so DS (15m) will be "helping"..!

BertieBotts · 06/01/2010 11:56

Bertie sensible idea (I hate using the phone so the idea of actually picking it up and calling someone never occurs to me!)

DS was asking to go out and throw snowballs (like the teenagers who have been throwing them at my windows making me jump all morning) so we wandered along to preschool to check and they were closing.

Am being so slack with the housework atm

JKS dd had a really cute pic to bring home of her and the other 3 kids who turned up at preschool all wrapped up in hats, scarves etc standing next to the snowman they'd made. They all look so dinky and proud of themselves

WHSmith order arrived today inc a letter rack to help sort one of my areas of doom (the incoming post area). Annoyed though as there was meant to be a pack of files in the order (to file said incoming post once dealt with)and they are missing. Also ordered family atlas and encyclopedia for £5 each but got 2 copies of atlas and none of encyclopedia

That sounds a bit rubbish Clairey. They've messed everything up there! So annoying esp when you have a plan to use the items to stream-line your home.

Can report that on snowday Tesco is full of people 'stocking up' and lots of kids due to school closure.

DD and I survived the mission and are back with the essential crisps food to tide us over if it snows again.

Our local Tesco always grinds to a halt at Christmas/New Year and when it snows - it's silly, you'd think they would know to pre empt it with a load more stock.

Clear table in kitchen
Sort washing up
Sweep kitchen floor
Mop kitchen floor
Clean out cat tray + food bowls
Put away food
Sort clothes from holiday
Move dirty clothes from bedroom
Do a load of washing
Hoover living room
Do DS some lunch done
Dort out some food for the next few days in slowcooker - making kitchen nice and warm
Get rid of rubbish piling up everywhere

DS has had a sleep so you would think I'd have got more done... Must make a start on the rest. I had to walk to the shop with him in a wilkinet on my back which was not comfortable at all, he is too big for it and fell asleep so was all floppy. I am getting a Patapum with some Christmas money, just have to wait for the cheque to arrive!

Hello Bertie How are you doing today, I was on your thread the other day when DS was having a bit of a meltdown!

HMHB - Well done for completing your mission for food! People are venturing out here, some silly mare was slipping and stumbling along in high-heeled boots earlier

Wasting - what are you researching and planning?

Still snowing, our road is completely impassable!
My brother and his DF are moving house today, their new place is about 40 mins away from here on a good day. I've just had my Dad on the phone saying 'ooh maybe they could stay with you tonight if they can't get into their new house'. AAARRRGGHHH - this is the brother I've been rowing with. We kind of patched things up a bit over Christmas but I'm definitely not ready to have them to stay here - his DF wouldn't come to my parents house over Christmas because I was there!
Now I feel angry with my Dad, and guilty that I don't want them here. Am supposed to be dieting and I just want to eat an enormous cake now to cheer myself up.
