Everyone welcome, newcomers and old(ish) flappers alike!

Here you can do any of the following:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I will also be posting Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm making the coffee and brewing tea. There might even be toast...

Good luck!

Signing off until Boxing Day so have a fabulous Christmas everyone. Looking forward to your suggestions for what to do with leftover turkey

DSis is making mulled wine with homemade, two-year old sloe gin so might have a bit of a hangover on Boxing Day. Coffee and paracetamol on standby!

MrsDingDongMerrily · 24/12/2009 13:34

Just a quick post to say Happy Christmas Everybody, I have so enjoyed being on this thread and am looking forward to picking up again in a few days time.

walkthedinosaur · 24/12/2009 18:44

Just want to say Merry Christmas to you all, thanks for all your support in my flying through the last few months.

I probably won't be back until Monday so have a fab Christmas.

DidEinsteinsMum · 24/12/2009 18:55

Merry christmas everyone. I have again fallen off the flying perch, but hope to hop my way back over the festive period fready to start a fresh with the learning to fly in the new year. My first challenge is the 2010 challenges. 2 things i want to achieve during the next year, plus a resolution. Not sure quite what it is going to be but hey time to think over the next few days.
Hope you all have a wonderful christmas and that the day brings as much peace and tranquillity as possible with excited dcs running round.

Happy Christmas.

mummyclaus · 26/12/2009 08:50

Happy Boxing Day!

I doubt many of you will be thinking of flying today, but just in case I'm posting today's link.

Today's babystep is a really small reading one

Hope your Christmas is wonderful

See you tomorrow

DidEinsteinsMum · 26/12/2009 13:23

Blimey Mummyclaus that is dedication. Thank you for the thoughts. Merry christmas and hope you are enjoying yourself.

mummyclaus · 27/12/2009 09:32

I knew someone would be about yesterday!

Just in case any of you stop by today here is the babystep.

The zone for next week is the living room so you might want to start finding homes for all of those presents!

swanriver · 27/12/2009 11:08

Hope everyone had a good Christmas, and just enjoyed their families - without feeling too stressed by the washingup...

Now I am steeling myself to tidy our bedroom.
Dh has taken kids out.
I am setting the timer for 30 mins. Perhaps 40 as I also need to get dressed

swanriver · 27/12/2009 11:37

Stripped bed
books in shelf
dh receipts and flotsam back in his drawer
took all dirty laundry out of room
put hot wash on
put all socks in sock drawer
folded washed pjs and put in drawer
made pile of clean clothes to go in wardrobe
put odd christmas stuff back in wardrobe
got dressed
now to run up again and finish

optimistletoemumma · 27/12/2009 12:34

Hi everyone and a very belated Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a lovely time and are enjoying the weekend...I love this time of year when everyone is at home but the hard work is well and truly over! My house looks a mess but hey, no flying for me until Tuesday!
We are about to walk to the pub for lunch - oldest DS has gone to Twickenham so all I need to say is have a wonderful few days and I'll see you all on Tuesday!
Thanks for being such a great bunch of supportive ladies - I am looking forward to next month's flying already...

dreamingofawhitexmasteamgirl · 27/12/2009 14:52

Thanks mummyclaus and well done swanriver

Not much done here- got home last night with a streaming cold and thank god DS had gone to his dads so I went to bed 8.30 and slept for 12 hours and feel more human now.

Have stripped bed and washed sheets from my bed and about to do DS' as I didnt get them done before I went away
About to put them in tumbledrier and stick another load on then think about tackling a few of the presents

MUST resist putting DS' presents away before he gets home as its unfari enough that he has to leave them and go off and see his waste of space father the day afetr he gets them and leave them behind without them just being away and assimilated before he can truly investigate them.

Then I just need to hoover upstairs and can go back to bed LOL

Merry Christmas everyone!!
BTW, do we have a name for our New Year thread yet?

mummyclaus · 27/12/2009 16:43

Working on it! Suggestions welcome

DidEinsteinsMum · 27/12/2009 23:06

Fledgling flyers: Resolved to cure the chaos!

Resolution to ban chaos or something along those lines...

best i have got at the mo.

mummyclaus · 28/12/2009 07:37

Good morning!

Thanks for the suggestions DEM. How about 'January fledgling flyers: resolving to do it for 15 minutes'?
Today's babystep is a reminder to look after ourselves

I'm going to start getting back into my routines today but not going to do a list

See you all tomorrow - turkey casserole anyone?

swanriver · 28/12/2009 09:17

Or what about
January Fledgling Fliers - The 15 Minute Mess Busters?

Or January Fledgling Fliers - Turn Mess into Magic 15 minutes at a time

mummyclaus · 28/12/2009 11:55

Thanks swan - keep them coming!

Plutothatpresentdown · 28/12/2009 17:44

We need to move! My house is too very tiny. There is Christmas crap everywhere. I have the big pram and the McClaren blocking the hall, the tree and the Wii stuff has taken over the living room and DS1 has set up his big electrics kit on the floor of the dining area. If he starts a fire with his electrical experimentations we probably wouldn't be able to get out for tripping over toys, failed storage solutions and remote controls. Ah well, there's always the January thread. Happy Christmas everyone

droitwichmum · 28/12/2009 19:19

Roll up! Roll up! The January Thread is here!

Who will be first to mark their place?

Oh and I've changed back to my original name now that Christmas is over

droitwichmum · 28/12/2009 19:21

Oh and Pluto - hate to break it to you but no matter HOW big your house, DCs would STILL create chaos throughout the living/dining rooms!

MrsDingDongMerrily · 28/12/2009 20:26

Hi everyone,

Been away for a few days with relatives, back tonight to the big sort out, and wishing I'd found time to hoover before I went .

We've had a lovely Christmas, DCs have liked all their presents, I've mostly liked mine.

The snow has virtually all gone, hoorah, but sounds like there may be more on the way.

DWM - well done for keeping up the posts.

Pluto - I feel the same, there is never any space in this house, even with the improvements that Flying has brought, every time we buy anything at all, it seems as though the entire house has to be re-shuffled to make room. I think DWM is right though, someone I know has recently built a huge extension, more or less doubled their house and it is still very cluttered, it seems that Nature truly does abhor a vacuum. I know that is a risk of Flying for me, if I clear too much space I will think "oh good I've got room for a new whatever now" and rush off to the shops fill it all up again!

Off to stick some washing on and ponder storage issues for all the new stuff! Waves to everyone who is looking in.

SantasBigboots · 28/12/2009 23:07

Hope everyone had a fab Christmas! Have been away visiting family - chaotic but fun and nice to come back to a tidy house! Will re-join in the January thread, thanks for all the flying help and advice

DidEinsteinsMum · 29/12/2009 00:08

Right, i have discovered i need to get more organised. I shall be flying before the end of the year. Office and bedroom tonight and tomo. Laundry tomo. Then wednesday the paperwork mountain... and once that has been done essay and control journal. This is the plan for getting to the point of initiated the master plan...

droitwichmum · 29/12/2009 07:32

Good morning

Babystep today is to do something for yourself

The mission is to throw away the rubbish from your living room. Could be a while...

Unexpectedly got DS home for next few days. He was going to stay with family but they are ill so he can't go. I had sooooo much planned for while he was away but it can't be helped. He has promised to help me with my flying so that should get done if nothing else.

Today:
ironing
15 mins per room decluttering/tidying/cleaning as necessary
change beds

See you later

MellieChristmas · 29/12/2009 08:11

Morning everyone

hope you all had a lovely christmas (keyboard ishoos back so apologies for lack of punctuation) we had a very relaxed christmas here in the elliepac household almost managed to keep it together until yesterday and now the house is a tip so serious flying needed from me we are having a small party on new years eve (just dsis< bil and dn plus our best friends and their dcs) but some serious flying is needed before then plus fil is coming for dinner tonight so have got to get house looking presentable

i am with you pluto on the space thing my living room was overflowing with toys pre christmas and you now literally cant move in there and they have filtered out into the hall where dd has set up her babys bedroom and the dining room is taken over by lego pirate ships and the wii> am going to have to have a big toy recycle i think because one toddler does not need the amount of toys she currently has

today@s list looks like this:_

dw on
wm unloaded and reloaded several times
general tidy downstairs
floors mopped
rubbish to skip
bathroom clean

ds stayed at his grandma@s last night after family get together and dd is still in bed after a late night so am going to get going now

have a good day everyone i definitely need the january thread

optimistletoemumma · 29/12/2009 08:38

Morning all! Morning mellie, DEM and MC
Tea on. Coffee in pot. Help yourselves to left over goodies!

Back to reality here today! Have already taken DH to station so he can go to work (poor thing!)
Am about to boot DS1 out of his pit so he can be reintroduced to his Economics books (he has an AS mock in January - er- next week-eek!)
The one advantage of having teenagers is NO MORE PLASTIC!! The biggest received pressies were clothes - oh - and Guitar Hero!
I do remember being buried by many Builder Bears and all their clothes and accessories and we still have boxes full of dismantled Harry Potter and Star Wars lego models
Anyway, today I must get organised as we are off tomorrow night for New Year until Sunday. Off to the East Coast to get some sea air and blow away the cobwebs!

To Do:
Washing/drying/ironing
Tesco for NY Eve dinner ingredients
S and s of bathroom and ensuite
Hoover downstairs

Have a good day everyone!
