Overflowing When are they going home? If I were you I might be tempted to start crossing the days off the calendar even if it's perfectly obvious that it has never been done before! I'd put a circle on the date they are returning home if I was feeling really aggrieved!

Ruby I'm not going to be much help to you, I'm afraid! The few days we were without an oven a few years ago were a torture for me!

Slow cooker:- Sorry, I've never had one.

Cook on the hob:- I mainly use it for cooking veg, sometimes use a frying pan for bacon or eggs or something, oh and omlette and french toast (eggy bread).

Microwave:- I tend to use it for cooking frozen veg, heating up baked beans and that's it.

No cook:- salad, buy cooked chicken or joints from the butcher or supermarket and put with salad.

No other ideas, sorry.

Ok, off to do some ironing as our sheets from last week and ours that have been washed today all need to be ironed and I know for a fact that I don't have a third set of king size bed sheets!

Ruby Dont you dare!

OFM I would not be able to contain myself, my home, my rules.

I have just cut out 24 mini stockings to make an advent thing out of a red fleece from Ikea. I now need to get some ribbon, may raid boys piggybank it is for them.

DH birthday tomorrow, we have made birthday cards this afternoon after our visit to the park in the wind.

Ruby, fish cakes made with tinned salmon are perfectly delicious and can be made in advance refrigerated and fried

Anything fried is always delicious
Most Italian dishes are hob based (except pizza and lasagne)even the stews - any Italian cookbook would have dozens of recipes

Have you ever come across Marcella Hazan?

Just banish thoughts of Shepherd's pie, quiche, pastry cakes biscuits and roasts and you will be fine without an oven.
