I've been married 8yrs too!

Can't seem to get much today as dad is taking over the house even though he is only tiling.

But I don't mind as I can sit and knit instead

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 21/07/2009 14:15

CWWM Dont't be sorry for moaning we all need a good moan now and again, I have had many a day where I feel like screaming because the house is a tip and I don't know where the hell to start.

Well I have tried to do some clutter clearing but when ever I try to bin or donate something someone decides they would quite like to keep it, Grr.... My DH has decided he would like to keep the box of videos with films recored off the TV on 'just in case' Why the hell would we watch them now, we haven't even looked in the box for over 2 years. Well they can go to his garage and stay there!!!

Everybody up, dressed and fed done
Make beds done
Run DW
Put away clean washing done
Decide what to wear for meal tonight (it's our wedding anniversary and like PBM we can't afford presents this year, the decorating is so expensive, but my mum and dad are treating us to a meal.)

alicecrail · 21/07/2009 14:36

Plum i found the thread theraputic. It is difficult with families because generally you are thrown together with a random bunch of people, and if you weren't related you wouldn't even give them the time of day, but because you are 'family' you are supposed to agree with all their bad deciscions and stick up for them. All a load of bollocks i'm afraid.

Cwwm It sounds tough
I always find the best place to start is to put a load of washing on, do the washing up and empty the bins. Even if you don't do anymore, that will keep you ticking over. I'm about all afternoon if you need some support

Everyone up done
Everyone breakfast done
Everyone dressed done
Make beds done
Put washload on done
Dry washing done
Put second washload on done
Unload dishwasher done
Go to babybounce didn't bother
Go to the market for tomatoes done
Go to young parents group? done
Pick up all random clothes scattered about
Pick up all toys scattered about the house
Dry second load of washing
Hoover living room
Hoover sofas
Hoover bottom half of stairs swept all stairs instead
Dust downstairs done surfaces
Lunch done
Tidy hall and sweep
DD nap next

I decided to get the dustpan and brush onto the stairs as i hate hoovering the stairs and thought it could be classed as exercise. I am ashamed at how much dirt and dust is now on my hall floor from the stairs

PlumBumMum · 21/07/2009 14:42

CWWM here's a hug, sit and relax and cuddle lola, get some of the dcs to tidy up!
I'm going to bed have a migraine think AF is its way(would need to be, its getting later every month!), hopefully get up and make my buns and get the washing sorted

ithinkmydaughterispeppapig · 21/07/2009 14:42

You can choose your friends but not your family, unfortunately.

PlumBumMum · 21/07/2009 15:21

Hi CC, can't sleep had a wee read of my book, think the migralive(sp) are starting to kick in
I've tried to stop worrying about money(hard I know) dh worries enough for both of us!
(Although I worry hes not worrying enough),
I think most people are in the same boat they just don't like admitting it to each other! If you want to chat let me know on chat thread!

Right
see whats for dinner
maybe make humming bird cupcakes
dry some more washing
ds staying at his friends for dinner

PlumBumMum · 21/07/2009 15:27

hummingbird cupcakes

alicecrail · 21/07/2009 15:38

Plum i just re-read my post, and realise that it may have come across wrong (yet another badly worded post today ) I meant that the people who think families should stick together regardless have completely got it wrong, and that it is all bollocks. I think if you are that worried about sticking together as a family, you shouldn't do things that can hurt the other members. (iyswim?) Like your dad and bro not understanding why there isn't a relationship between you, but they are the ones that have put all the strain on. Does that make more sense? Or should i just get back to my hoovering?
I hope your head is feeling better. It is terribly close here weatherwise, so it's not surprising if anyone gets a migraine.

PlumBumMum · 21/07/2009 15:41

No don't worry, I knew what you mean't, I got a letter from my mum today, well more of a poem about god making mothers, it was abit hypocritical, she will probably ring later to see what I thought of it!

alicecrail · 21/07/2009 15:49

Oh dear, what are you going to say?

alicecrail · 21/07/2009 15:52

Ooh those cakes look good, i might make some this week. Do you think you can freeze them?

cikecaka · 21/07/2009 15:53

Mothers who would have them, mine was up for tests last week and was told that she had to take her tablets (or risk having a major stroke) and go to day care but she is doing neither. Mam tells everybody different things, telling everyone what she thinks they want to hear!! Even told a friend of hers that she is going for an operation this week and there is no talk of it, she needs to go back for a review in Oct but nothig else. There was talk of me doing carer for her (money might come in handy) but I dont know if i would have the patience! I think as a carer you would need to be doing it out of love and commitment and not for money!!, just feel it is being left to me because I dont work and there is just me and DSIS living near, other siblings live a fair distance away!

jks it must be very hard, but you know that the sooner they know exactly what they are dealing with, the sooner you can get used to it and accept it. Hopefully they will find something that will stabilise (for want of a better word) his condition and he can get on with being a little boy. Fingers crossed that you get the right outcome

As for pink clothes, try just washing them again without the tablecloth

JKS it will hit you in waves and you'll thinkyour over it until something else, don't compare him to your friends dd, in my experience little girls are always ahead, my ds walked later talked later than dd1 and he could buy and sell you now, so please don't worry about that

Made my buns forgot the pineapple still tasted nice though!
