Evening ladies

I have the food cooking - just waiting for DH - sausages, new pots, veg and gravy

I have took mum to sainsburys
brought the washing in of the line - wetter than it went on
stopped the boys killing each other

Still to do - ironing away
Also now I have my boobs - I need to do a wardrobe review

Dil the others have explained it to a T. My control journal is a ss in excel and is like my bible. DH even knows where to find it.

I was in and out of hospital for 6 weeks and the house was fine without my input - it just show flying does work

Hi Dil

Work through the babysteps. They do work if you do it as instructed. Create a spreadsheet on the pc rather than a notepad if you are on here a lot.

Have had friends over for tea. House not too bad. Kids tired.

Dil I only joined this thread today, and started the baby steps. I do have a kind of routine for cleaning, but am already finding this is making me think of things a bit more. For example, I have set times of the day that I do the washing up which I am quite happy with, but have always let my dishes drip dry, and I put them away when I do the next load, so there are always plates on my draining board but I have tackled Day1 of baby steps, and never again. I can't stop looking at the sink area!!
I must admit, I spent so long doing the sink, that I didn't get much else done and was thinking, well there's always tomorrow, which is the exact attitude that got me into this slight mess!
Although, I did re-organise my cupboards so there is now a home for the drying rack so I can put it straight away. I have also made a new home for the washing up liquid and counter cleaner (they used to live on the window ledge and are now in the cupboard) so I do feel like I have had a good day.
I originally said I'd do steps 1-3, but didn't realise the sink was such a detailed job!

Grouchy, well mine's a bit mushy after too long slow cooking...
but basic recipe is
I tsp cumin powdered
I tsp ginger powdered
1 tsp cinnamon
fry an onion in tblspoon oil (sunflower?)
and some garlic
add a tiny bit of cayenne (quarter tsp?) or dried chilli
add in some carrots in chunks
celery, courgette and butternut squash in chunks (leeks too perhaps?)
add some stock and few squirts of tomato puree, and possibly some real tomato
simmer for an hour adding in a drained rinsed chickpeas near end
you could of course add meat at beginning too or chicken (browned a bit)but might need to cook longer before adding courgettes etc.

serve with couscous cooked separately very dry and fluffy (NOT SOGGY)
and harissa paste diluted with a bit of stock like ketchup to taste.

but I would look on internet for a more precise version

Just back from Beavers, doing scientific experiments and have burnt my thumb.

Back from scouts

Blimey, what's going on 'ere today?! Very busy flying!
Welcome LBB and Dil
Flying is great but it's this thread which is truly special - or the people who inhabit it, that is. We all keep each other sane and flying.
As said, start with babysteps, and do not run before you can walk - I did that smugly thinking it was easy and just miserably failed twice - then joined this thread, did babysteps, one per day and have been here ever since. I have moved house whilst flying and the house looks pretty good, except the spare room of course!!
Anyway. No time now for other hellos - except galen - spooky - I have been on the healthy eating today too - already feel loads better.
See you all tomorrow girls

Evening all, and welcome FLYbabies

Not much FLYing going n here this week, but dp and I are working hard to try and turn the old bathroom into a bedroom before dd1s birthday so she can have a sleepover. We have gutted it, and removed the ancient window, but no money for a new one, so making good with what we have, and spare bits from the shed More work, but alot less money.
Also needs a new floor (raining the level to get rid of a step, wiring and plastering, then decorating/

We have just over 2 weeks

Evening all.
Just thought i would pop in and say hi before bed.

Welcome Dil and Lbb.

Keeping up with house just about! No exercise today apart from school runs but that is ok.

Hair cut in the morn then will put washing away when i get home.

See you all tomorrow.

littleboyblue · 20/05/2009 21:58

I'm quite looking forward to tomorrow, and step 2, but I think it's getting dressed? I do that anyway
We are going to a soft play centre with a mum from play group tomorrow, so not sure how much time we will be in for.

I have showed dp where to put all his dirty plates etc, and told him abut drying the sink after use. Did he do it? No......nevermind. I have just shined the sink again ready for tomorrow. It's pretty.
So, how often do you all window-cleaner it?
