so much so that it's coming up the plug hole into the sink and leaking down the front of it from the drawer??

I only put a normal amount of powder in........it's supposedly already done it's rinse - but it's just white in there.........

what powder?

Overmydeadbody · 22/04/2009 12:00

I accidentally used handwash powder once and that same thing happened.

Pour a load of salt into the drawer and send it through a rince cycle.

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 12:00

just the normal Cyclone (Morrisons own) that I've used for years (3/4 of the way through a massive box and no problem previously).

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 12:01

I don't have any other powder that I could have accidentally used - it was definitely the normal washing powder as I couldn't find the plastic measure thing so had to use a mug instead and it only just fitted into the box.

oh gawd..........I've just had a thought - what would happen if you put too much powder in - like several scoops full????

OP posts:
KingCanuteIAm · 22/04/2009 12:04

Any chance you could have accidentally put in a bottle of shampoo? Dd did this once, the top came off during the was and all sorts of bubbly fun ensued

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 12:04

how much salt??

OP posts:
Overmydeadbody · 22/04/2009 12:05

lots of salt
lots and lots

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 22/04/2009 12:05

It sounds like your overflow pipe is blocked so the soap hasn't been able to rinse away.

Overmydeadbody · 22/04/2009 12:06

oh dear

the salt will kill the bubbles though, I promise!

Overmydeadbody · 22/04/2009 12:07

oh gosh, it could be that, but then the water wouldn't be draining away wither? Is the water draining away FAQ?

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 12:08

oh sh*t - just rushed upstairs to check the bathroom contents

my shampoo and condition - check (just as well it's just about the only thing I splash out on for myself it's Treseme !)

all bubble baths - check

DS's brand new bottle of shampoo............can't find it.......had a look in the bedrooms but can't see it anywhere

There were a few bits in the machine waiting to be washed before I put the rest in, I didn't check it.......I know I didn't pick up the shampoo by accident - haven't been anywhere near the bathroom to get this mornings washing............but DS3 probably has

ARGHGHHHHHHHHH

Overmydeadbody · 22/04/2009 12:10

oh dear, sorry but am pmsl

Have you put the salt in?

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 12:10

ermm I think the water is draining away..........can't see through the white foam on the door to see if there's any water in there..........but surely it must be draining away if the bubbles are working their way into the sink????

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 22/04/2009 12:10

If it's coming out though the sink I would imagine so.

This happened to us, the water was trickling away but as it did more bubbles formed so it came out of the sink plug and overflow. I ignored it until I did a load and flooded my kitchen and damaged downstairs neighbours roof.

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 12:10

no it's just finished it's "wash" cycle now and I've put DS3 down for a nap...........about to go and tip salt in and set it to rinse..............d'ya reckon the washing will smell all lovely and appply

OP posts:
Overmydeadbody · 22/04/2009 12:11

put some salt down the sink too to kill the bubbles there

Overmydeadbody · 22/04/2009 12:13

Good luck!

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 12:13

ok I've just put half a bucket of salt in and set it away.......

the water seems to have drained (I opened the door and it didn't come flooding out.......although the washing seems a lot wetter than it usually would - but that could be because it didn't rinse properly because of bubbles??)

OP posts:
KingCanuteIAm · 22/04/2009 12:22

I don't mean to laugh in your moment of pain but !

Any sign of the shampoo bottle?

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 12:25

not yet - I put it on the Rinse+ cycle to make sure all the bubbles went and it was rinsed properly.

Salt has worked - thank you - all bubbles have gone - 20 minutes and then I can take it all out and hopefully find the evidence

OP posts:
Overmydeadbody · 22/04/2009 12:32

glad to hear the bubbles have gone!!

Sidge · 22/04/2009 12:33

Reminds me of when my dear friend phoned me in a panic because he had foam all over the kitchen - turned out he had put Persil in the dishwasher!

FAQinglovely · 22/04/2009 13:31

hmmm - the plot thickens - there was no bottle of shampoo in there....................

OP posts:
KingCanuteIAm · 22/04/2009 13:56

Ooh... erm... Did the monsters do it? That is who always does things in our house (well it is according to dd anyway
