you are so right - I am dreading the day we have no day time naps - they are part of my sanity at the moment.

Swan We took out National Trust, English Heritage and RHS membership and make sure that we use them. Loads of things to do even if it is just an old run down castle, plus we feel like we need to make our moneys worth

Busy afternoon

DH spot painted our room
Re-hung DS1 curtains - bloody plasterboard walls
Put up two curtain holdbacks - his is the coldest room in the house and the rad is covered by his curtains

Boys fed again
2 games of monopoly
Ski sunday
Boys bathed
War waged to get DS2 to bed (45 mins)
Ironing done (inc 8 new shirts for DH - Tesco 2 for £4 in sale)
Ironing put away
Washer on

Me too - It was like a bereavement when DS1 dropped his. I used to have 2 hours all to myself when both boys slept.

Read ds2 two stories
avoided dd who was on brink of another nervous breakdown and is shouting ITS NOT FAIR at top her voice from her bedroom (she wants ds1 to sleep in her room tonight

20mins later. now told dd another instalment of made up story - only solution

Enchanted April. I saw the film and read the book in my 20's. I loved it then, might try it again now. I'm trying to read Shirley Hazzard TRANSIT OF VENUS for bookclub and finish off something called Ten Year Nap. I also want to read Inkheart which dh says is brilliant as he's reading to ds1.

Wendy perhaps you could co-ordinate a fly bookclub for us?

Soup and bread now on the table for grownups.

London has loads of things to do. but only one child really likes museums - ds2
who can conceive no greater pleasure than numerous train/tube connections and running round exhibits preferably of engines but anything brightly coloured and shiny will do (Chinese pporcelain, rare crystals) Dd hates walking (loves seeing friends), dh hates driving (so do I too) so that is why we end up rather confused. Last year we made a vow to invite more people to Sunday lunch and that worked very well!!!

dylsmum1998 · 01/02/2009 21:23

evening all.

swan our weekends depend mostly on which child is visiting their dad. we then plan around this, sometimes we just go to the park, other times its a trip to london, the beach or the farm depending on the time of year and that days weather. i tend to have one day for running errands, shopping etc and then let the dc decide what happens n the other day.

wendY hope dd is better tonight poor love

am exhausted but no reason why.
popped to asda this morning, had a few snow flurrys while there.
came back made soup wit dd and had it for lunch. the snow was coming down well by then. so we went out to play in the snow, not enough for a snowman but we were drawing with sticks in it, very proud as she drew a number one and said look mummy i can draw number 1'ss (she's only 2)
then when she decided she was freezing we came home and played with barbies, she phoned her fav. cousin and they had a rather amusing phone call.
then we made dinner and played farms.
i have ironed what is needed for tomrrow, can't be bothered to do anymore so its just piled up.
floors are clear, dc are in bed think i'm gonna go to in a mo

TheMadHouse · 02/02/2009 07:30

follow my foot prints in the snow
