Hmm odd, can't seem to get upp page 3 - sp feel out of touch LOL

Anyway evening all!
mad very impressed at plastering!
swan sounds like youre doing well
grouchy busy day again - well done you for walking
ruby if you go I'll have to join you! Friday night is easy tea night here and often it ends up being something like chkn nuggets or even pizza - gasp- from a shop- and not homemade! They get healthy stuff the rest of the time - and they are fit and healthy so figure it can't do that much harm!
counting barely any ironing here! I try to fold it when it finishes in the tumble, or as soon as I take it down - most things are OK with a good shake LOL

So an odd afternoon here!
Went to pick up DD1, and as I suspected she wasn't ill at all. This is the third time I've been called to collect her. Turns out she didn't want to do maths this afternoon.
I knew as soon as I saw her she was fine. Secretary was a bit taken aback by my lack of sympathy I think LOL ( kept saying "she does look pale, and she's not one to complain")
Had a long talk with her when we got home and she finaly admitted she wasn't ill, and hadn't been the other times either. (didn't want to do french on those occs) Made her aware I wasn't happy LOL and had a chat about the boy who cried wolf etc... don't think she'll do it again!

Anyway that sort of threw me a bit, and my afternoon didn't go quite to plan!
I did get a lot of sorting done in the bedroom though.
Hoovered under bed
Sorted out wardrobe and all my drawers - 2 black bags full for charity shop and one for rubbish! - boy I REALLY need some new underwqear though!
Thought I was doing really well on bedroom till I realised my watch had stopped and it was an hour later than I though so had to rush to get Dc from school!
As a result still to do:
Mop floors
Clean washing to put away

may get that done tonight - but really may be tomorrow as tired now!

Wolfcub · 19/01/2009 19:18

evening all counting about 2.5-3 hours of speed ironing for my family of 3 but I don't always do it especially not in winter when we are using the drier more and I never iron bedding unless its really bad

grouchy you have been seriously busy

I left work early today, have to go north tomorrow for an event with the big wigs and having not dry cleaned my suit I needed a new outfit, plus new underwear, new tights, new shoes and new makeup its all because I'm really nervous, I hate these sort of functions, I am a natural wall flower.

EHM · 19/01/2009 19:21

RR hope you have a pain free evening ouch!
tort Impressive as ever.
mad good news on BP
swan hope dd is ok?
grouchy hope you enjoyed the course?

bugger I've forgot everything else

Have done ironing.
looked after, dressed & fed Teddy from Preschool having sleepover at ours.return him tomorrow with details of what we have done in his book.
handyman looked at broken tap & bathroom lock/handle
coming thursday to replace both.(new bought by us on saturday thankfully)
Appliance man coming tomorrow between 1-3pm to look at WM & DW.also hopefully fix knob on oven.
Booked facial for wed for me & haircut/color for 3rd feb
cooked cottage pie for tea & lasagne for freezer or tomorrow.
general tidy throughout.

going to have bath & then loll on sofa feel like I am coming down with something again...arrrrrrrrrgh!

night night all.x.x.

EHM · 19/01/2009 19:23

wolfclub good luck with the big wigs. you'll be fine just imagine them in fancy dress outfits or something just as daft. you may feel less stressed. they are only human & probably feel just like you do.

swanriver · 19/01/2009 19:33

Counting, I never really do any ironing AT ALL but didn't really dare mention it on this thread.... But it is one of those things I ENJOY, (just as I enjoy making jam, and growing things from seed) but always fail to do, before wearing clothes, esp in winter (under jumpers nothing shows) The kids' uniform is entirely made of polyester, acrylic dripdry heaven. DH irons his own shirts and hates me ironing in living room. So I would say I iron once a week for an hour.
I am getting more iron friendly tho with routines.

swanriver · 19/01/2009 19:36

Galen I think you struck perfect balance with not so ill dd1.

Tortoise · 19/01/2009 20:05

Galen Sounds like you handled it well with your DD1.
EHM Hope you aren't coming down with anything.
RR An easy tea doesn't hurt sometimes. DD's have breakfast friday nights! Their choice, which they would choose everynight if they could!

Well, i forgot to pick up the battery from here so i couldn't get a new one. Chicken and homemade chips instead of pie! Will do the pie tomorrow!

DS's are in the bath, DD's in bed! DD1 ended up on the naughty stair for screaming at me. Getting too frequent lately so she has been told she will go on the naughty stair each time if it carries on! She has always had a short temper, moody monkey!

TheMadHouse · 19/01/2009 20:09

Counting I guess I iron for about 15-20 mins a day. Mainly DH's work shirts. I try and do it as soon as I can or it mounts up and then I dont do it. I dont iron bedding unless really bad.

galen Well done with getting the truth out of DD and also with the bedroom.

EHM I need to sort my hair too - hope the appliances are not too pricey to fix

Groucy Take it easy and keep Boris in his box

Swan No shame in not ironing - I hate it

Wolf I am sure it will be fine, but new toggs can not hurt and will do wonders for confidence.

We have put up old/new blind - filler not dry yet, so will paint in tomorrow.
Dinner is on
Boys are in bed, although DS2 is going through the not my bed mummy phase - he has asked for a bigger bed (he is in junior bed) and asked for daqddys glue and hammer to do one himself tonight.

I have done most of the zone clean, only the skirting left.

I have to take mum to hospital tomorrow, come back and collect DS1 from Preschool and then go get her again. Her arthritis is so bad that they are going to pop her on a steriod drip for the morning, which is cool, but put pays to my plans.

I will end up giving the boys lunch out, must get birthday cards and pop to DIY store for hooks come hell or high water.

oops sorry for doublepost - PC was misbehaving - better now!

wolf good luck tomorrow
mad hope your mum gets on OK, well done on the zone clean!
ehm I also soooo need to get my hair cut - I hate having it done so always put it off, but it's desperate now LOL

I actually felt quite sorry for DD1 - she was sooo upset when she admitted to not being ill. Think she felt genuinly bad about it all. She is such a brilliant actress though - can see why school were taken in LOL

Have
sorted and folded washing to put away tomorrow

Vegies chopped for slow cooker in morn

lunchboxes sorted

to do:
Mopping ( officially moved to tomorrow)

Tomorrow:
Mopping
Make up some meals for DS 2 for freezer
clothes away
Toddler storytime at megakidz
Need to bake but may not get round to it
Mission

Right have shone sink, off to read, then early night
See you tomorrow!

BiancaCastafiore · 19/01/2009 21:43

BiancaCastafiore · 19/01/2009 21:55

Hi Tort Can't sign into MSN this eve (did some sort of cr*p cleaning thing on the comp yesterday but have now forgotten my password !!) I will remember eventually
I'm fine thanks Tired - had a very busy day at work. How are things with you? Well done on the bed building

Tortoise · 19/01/2009 21:58

Lol! You and your password forgetting!
All well here thanks.

BiancaCastafiore · 19/01/2009 22:00

I'm hopless at passwords - can't understand it as when we set up this laptop we used the same 2 or 3 passwords for everything! It must be along the lines of what I think it is but I'm getting it wrong somewhere....
Glad all is good with you Are your boys fast asleep in their new beds?

Tortoise · 19/01/2009 22:09

You will work it out in the end.
Yes they are. They are very happy with the beds.
