Hi all.
Went to post about an hr ago but PC shut down mid message!

Anyway will try and remember what i put!

Had a busy day yesterday. Put 2 high sleeper beds up by myself (With NO instructions and only a little tiny help from DS's!). Need to do quite a bit of furniture/toy moving to get the bed up in DS2's room. Most of his toys are still in DS1's room! Need new storage boxes.

I was shattered last night! But quite proud of myself for managing to do it alone!

Today i have done a bit!
Took DC to school
Walked Mickey
DS2 emptied DW this morn(But he is trying to earn pks of Match Attax!)
Re-loaded DW
WM on
TD on
Floor swept
Shoes rack tidied
Man came to fix upstairs light
Cleaned work top
Cleaned cooker
Watered house plants

Have actually done quite a bit.
Need to do more though!

Front room needs hoovering
Need to make Egg and Bacon pie for tea
Dining table needs clearing.

Better post this before it gets lost again!!

swanriver · 19/01/2009 12:31

That's amazing Tortoise to put the beds together yourself.

galen · 19/01/2009 12:38

tort yes wel done on the beds
swan I was dissappointed too when I discovered what house blessing was - like your idea much more LOL!

Have:
hoovered stairs and upstairs
Nappies in dryer
Wm reloaded

To do:
Clean washing sort and away
mission - drawers under bad actually OK as have Ds2's stuff in, but will maybe move bad and hoover under if I feel brave ( very big super kingsize though so moving it quite challenging LOL!)

oh bum school just rang - dd1 feels ill - must dash,....

scattyspice · 19/01/2009 12:47

Tort - i'm impressed with your handyman skills.

Ruby - hope you are feeling better.

Swan - I had a fantastic day off . Feel young again . DD told me they have bought me a prize . I tried to trick ds into telling me what it is but he is holding out!

Greyskull - I honestly don't know how sit ups got on my list .

Still raining.

Tortoise · 19/01/2009 12:52

Thanks .

Have now hoovered front room.

About to start making the pie BUT the battery is flat in my scales(stupid big cell battery ). I don't think i have enough money to buy one until tomorrow.

Galen Hope DD1 is ok.

I am feeling really tired suddenly. Will have an orange and sit down for a bit i think.(As i can't make the pastry for the pie!)

swanriver · 19/01/2009 12:56

Could you look up an american cup measure version and do with it teacups? Is it my imagination or is 1 level tblspoon of flour I oz?

Tortoise · 19/01/2009 13:02

I possibly could do that but what size cup is used?
Will have too see how much i have in the bank then make it when i get home. Doesn't take too long.

swanriver · 19/01/2009 13:11

Wilkipedia implies 2 tblspns to oz, but flour compresses, so maybe it's I heaped tblspn of flour makes I oz. Don't know about cups.

Tortoise · 19/01/2009 13:13

Thanks.
Think i will try and get batteries or cook it tomorrow.

Wolfcub · 19/01/2009 13:16

wendythepositivethinker · 19/01/2009 13:38

hello everyone!

DH just home for ten minutes so grabbed the opportunity to see you all - blimey it's busy on here today!

I like the name Home Blessing actually - it's an hour's cleaning so I can count my blessings and not do so much for another week

Not that I've done it yet

Been to Lidl
Cleaned the fridge
Made leek and potato soup
Done jigsaws with ds
played with dd

Now, washing up, tidy, vac round
Home bless later!
Out to a friend's for sticking and glittering with her dc and my dc!
Yoga this evening

Will BBL

grouchyoscar · 19/01/2009 16:44

Ruby NOOOOOOO we need you, don't become a moldy (they've gone and they would be the flamers) Silly teas once in a while are good fun anyway

Oh, Hello everyone

I've been out all day. Holistic therapy course then into town, get prescriptions made up for me and a mum from school, English with IT course Ed to school library and home

I walked to and from town today Went with the daughter of one of my friends, she's 17 and DC#2 is on the way So I spent the walk chatting and offerring practical and moral support. She's a good kid and she will go far with the right support.

I think I'll kick the English course into touch TBH. Sorry to sound swotty but I think I am beyond it TBH. I have GCSE B English and I'm pretty computer literate so I think I'll be wasting everyone's time.

DH's contract has finished. He's disillusioned with the company and wants out. I'm going to get him some careers advice so he can re-work his CV. Not a good time to consider a role change but...there you go!

Better do some flying TBH. Did lots yesterday so it's basically S&Sing to keep on top of it

Sorry, long, just needed to spill

Countingthegreyhairs · 19/01/2009 17:21

Hello everyone again and thanks for your reply SwanRiver ...

Totally agree, I know in my heart of hearts that getting to bed and having a decent night's sleep is probably THE most important part of flying for me ... otherwise I eat too much and don't make the most of the day ...might treat myself to a couple of new books to lure me to bed early ...

Hope your dd feels better soon

One more question for everyone:

how many hours of ironing per week is the average do you think for a family of three?

(A family who probably has too many clothes and lots of different activities and loads of visitors, therefore lots of bedlinen.)

The reason I ask is that I am doing hardly any at the moment and it is often the case that dh and dd go and rummage in the clean washing piles for clothes. Want to change this as it is a bit irksome for all concerned ...but what is realistic? (Sorry for such a boring question ...)

ShannaraTiger · 19/01/2009 17:49

Evening all

I'm hovering around, not much FLYing done.
Will be back on tomorrow as my brain isn't functioning today.

grouchyoscar · 19/01/2009 18:27

Done some FLYing

Got uniform ready for morning
Made lunch for Ed
Emptied DW
Put away
Loaded DW

I'm totally shattered. DH watched the America Football games last nightand as he's a BIG Pitsburgh Steelers supporter he Had to watch the late game (in bed ) at 1:30 he starts getting overexited as the touchdown is scored ('Go on, go on, GO ON FELLA whoo-hoo! Nice one') Good job I wasn't trying to sleep huh In 2 weeks time the Steelers are in the Superbowl so I bet it will all happen again. At least that's it for another season

Sorry, I ramble. As a sports widow I have no life

scattyspice · 19/01/2009 18:59

Ironing about 1-2 hrs/wk (4 of us). Its gone up considerably since I stopped using the tumble drier .
