Poor ds sodor, and poor you hope you get some rest later.

Ruby - that is crap!

sag - hope your back settles down (pilates would be good for it, but not while its still sore).

mad - Phew glad your ds is still using the buggy - although I know my DD is a terrible walker (she didn't walk until she was 2.5!).

Gallen - good luck to your dd.

tigger - at your friends husband!

Bella - news like that really shakes you up though .

jas - I struggle when dh is 'underfoot' he gets bored and follows me round (tsk).

tickle- I don't envy your husband on the roof in this weather.

To do:
tel calls
get puzzles out.

BBL.

Back from school, thinking of everyone in trouble.

Work went fine, feeling slightly high despite administrative chaos galore. Yr 6's at school seem to be reading at last! and not just Horrid Henry and Captain Underpants.

Now to drop off ds's violin which he has forgotten. Was hoping that there was no (group)lesson today as he has done hardly any practice over hols.

Tickle · 08/01/2009 13:29

back in again - and I'm glad to say twas PONIES
Causing consternation on a flying thread when I've only just arrived ... oh dear

Not much flying today as I have been on the roof with DH as chippie's assistant - helping him fit a window.

Off to pick up LOs from kindergarten, then hope to attack their room with the hoover at last!

Hope the day cheers up for those who are having a rough one.

swanriver · 08/01/2009 13:30

Happy anniversary too Grouchy. Did you have a magical winter wedding?

grouchyoscar · 08/01/2009 13:45

Magical...Odd tbh

Midnight, Las Vegas, bride in a plaid Flannel dress and 8 holed DM boots, groom in creased linen jacket.

It worked tho

swanriver · 08/01/2009 13:52
Smile
galen · 08/01/2009 13:56

sag hope your back gets better soon
grouchy happy anniversary - sounds a cool wedding!
NYNMH have been pacing myself for a change LOL, in the past I would have decided I needed a clean tidy bedroom NOW and gone totally overboard, emptied out my entire wardrobe and drawers etc... then got totally overwhelmed and given up!!
Thankfully taking a steadier approach today - will be happy if you can see all the floor by the end of the day!

Anyway back from collecting DD3 - she had a great morning. DS2 has been sad and grumpy all morning - won't sleep, wont eat.... think it's his teeth. Finally got him off now, but not much elese done so far this morning.
Fair ammount of mess around. Feeling a bit bleugh, so taking a break , having some fruit and water and MNing for a bit.Back for another school run in less than an hour -sigh-

Will do quick tidy before school, and need to do another couple of loads of washing tonight(unearthed a fair bit when excavating my room!)

Oh bum DS 2 awake AGAIN aaarrrggghhh
OK will have to live with mess today it seems!
BBL

swanriver · 08/01/2009 14:10

Galen, I'm going to live with mess upstairs today too.
DW unloaded and loaded
lunch eaten (a very old casserole)

Given up on meal planning, there's something in freezer thank goodness we can have with couscous and salad. Now defrosting.

Only goal is now to tidy livingroom before they come back from school.

Back in 40mins.

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 08/01/2009 14:40

Spent some time playing pirates with DS1

I am now sorting bolegnease for dinner

Happy Anniversary Grouchy

We have our 10th anniversary next month We're toying with having a party...

I have sorted dss room His wardrobe is lovely and tidy as is his bookcase - no sign of the missing library book though
I have also written some over-due emails and sorted some bits for posting.

Off to collect ds from school now. Dd is hopefully staying on to do a cookery class for another hour

Back later x

swanriver · 08/01/2009 15:11

We went to the seaside, in autumn/winter for our tenth anniversary, 2007 - with children - in Swanage and stayed in a perfect 1950's cottage for five days! The sort of thing we never usually do, being too cowardly to go many places with small unruly children. It was a wonderful memory to keep, walking running along the beach in the equinoctial gales.

Have hoovered livingroom at last, it was becoming a forest what with all the pine cones and pineneedles on the floor and picked up all the stray daleks and tiny Ratouille rats/ladles.

Also made children's beds hurray, that never gets done.

Off to pick up now.

scattyspice · 08/01/2009 15:49

Afternoon All

been to visit my friend and she is surprisingly well and seems to be dealing with things really well.

Happy anniversary Grouchy

I can't believe how constructive everyone has been today

I am going to make a bolognaise in minute and then some ironing later.

Tomorrow I get on and play catch up!

AnneOfAvonlea · 08/01/2009 16:57

Hi All

Happy Anniversary Grouchy

for Ruby and Bella's friend.

Been out all day so nothing done

Saw the thread about babyjjbaby last night. Dont think she was malicious troll but must have some problems.

swanriver · 08/01/2009 17:40

Anne, It would be so easy to become another person - like writing an interactive novel really - and see what people say to you.

Done the mission, and some picture cleaning and forced ds1 to do 5 mins violin practice (I am becoming obsessed by this). Today they were allowed some telly after school - hopefully they will accept new routine without a problem. Despite yesterday's mealtime muddles, they did seem to play quite happily without it. I think I just have to stick to my guns. Next week will be much more frazzly because lots of homework and clubs, and there really won't be time for telly Mon-Wed. It is a source of quarrelling when they watch it in week, AND they scream at me when I turn it off so...

Hope you've had a calm day TMH.

TheNewYearNewMadHouse · 08/01/2009 18:44

Thanks Swan this afternoon has been lovley actually. Spent it all play with the children. It is nice as we started with a homestart visitor just before christmas (again to help out when I have my op) and she is a lovley retired teacher.

Boys are now winding down now - it is about time TBH and I am going out to a friends for coffe, as I need a break.

Might be back later

scattyspice · 08/01/2009 18:55

Hi again.

swan you are doing well with the TV restrictions. I may well follow your lead. My 2 are getting to the age when they want to watch different things too .

mad you deserve a break.

Done
speeding fine
laundry
ds words
played games with dc

galen · 08/01/2009 19:26

Evening all.
Not the best of days here. Ds2 has been really sad all day. Didn't nap longer than 1/2 an hour all day. Having some probs getting him to take his bottles too, have just weaned from breastfeeding ( for various reasons - no tomatoes pleae) and think he is missing it

Anyway.... did manage to get bedroom floor cleared . Have hoovered, dusted and changed bedding - so clean and tidy on the surface at least. What lurks in drawers and wardrobes is another matter altogether!

NYNMH thanks for the link - great idea! Will try that to do a proper declutter of bedroom a bit at a time. Will have to wait till wkend though so DH can help out with DS2 I think....

Also have managed to hoover lounge, dinner done, cleared away, couple of loads of washing done , house in reasonable order downsatirs...

Going to veg on sofa for a bit, make to do list for tomorrow , shine sink and that's it!

may bbl - if not have good evenings all!

scattyspice · 08/01/2009 19:33

Galen - poor wee man. DS was really clingy from this age. I was lucky to get a load of washing done in a day, nevermind any housework. Hope you get a better night.

swanriver · 08/01/2009 19:36

Done ds1's homework, helped dd with her reading book and fed everyone. Dh is putting all to bed now.

Now I am determined to read a book after supper with dh.

swanriver · 08/01/2009 19:45

not with him but after supper.

Wolfcub · 08/01/2009 20:41
