I am a pissed off Mad - They never turned up. I rang them at 2.15 to see where they were - we are quite difficult to find. Never bothered to ring back. I have just rang again - to be told that she had handed it over to someone else and would look in to it.

You know this is why children slip through the cracks - no one takes any responsibility.

I know that I am going to be out of action for a long while and have taken upon myself to ask for help and they just can not be arsed. It took me ages to actually ask for help

I just dont know why I bother sometimes.

Anyway - DS2 is up and watching The Wiggles. I am going to collect DS1 and then we need to go to Tesco's as we dont even have beans in.

Daren't look at ghosty until dh back from trip!! I'm a coward.

Well so far I have:

  1. tidy master bedroom half done
  2. gather laundry and odd socks from their hiding places and sort and wash, dry and iron (3 loads per day for 3 days) clothes gathered and 1 load done, 2 more to go
  3. prepare office laundry to be collected to do
  4. quick tidy bathroom and kitchen (they are messy not dirty) done
  5. proper tidy and clean of sitting room half done
  6. clean out guinea pigs to do
  7. tidy and sort 'craft' cupboard - to do

and I have tidied and cleaned the study and sorted some sewing materials ...

why do I always find it easier to do things NOT on my list??

Congratulations on your forbearance Ruby

How is everyone else getting on?

Ruby sounds like you know your sister very well - even though you don't share her taste.. good on you for biting your tongue.

TMH - how bloody frustrating for you!!! how long until your operation?

GO your wedding sounds fabulous!

I find having the laptop on my knee keeps me warm although I do get strange chillblaine type things on my legs .

got to do some more ironing and tackle the study again. Will finish writing the Christmas cards this evening as DH is out on the piss with some work friends.

if anyone has any ideas on how to make a home made advent calendar out of card that includes sweeties, that a 2 year old could do.. please let me know.

Here's one but it's only for five days:uktv.co.uk/homes/item/aid/578440

I think I would sew this one rather than use a glue gun:

www.ehow.com/how_11216_make-advent-calendar.html

Time consuming:

blog.craftzine.com/archive/2007/11/how_to_make_an_advent_calendar.html

Match-box method:
www.creativekidsathome.com/activities/activity_14.shtml#Box%20Calendar

or 25 yoghurt pots or egg-cup shapes cut from egg boxes glued to board and spray paint dark green - add red sticker numbers - put little sweets in each - leave space at end of each board and add Christmassy cake decorations ?????

I know, I know, I should be cleaning ...

PS MadHouse - don't know your story but hope you are OK and sorry you have been let down today

LOL I have seen the scary ghostie clip before. Its not scary Tort

Well I am truly fed up of colouring and sticking googly eyes on things! I hope now that everything is ok for sunday (The things you have to do as a parent and living in a small village with kids in the only nursery and school!)

GO I have fantastic images of your wedding day and you in DM's

Bigbaubleyes well done on the list

I'm liking the xmas advent cone things but I'm a bit crafted out today! Maybe another day I might give them a go

how fustrating mad

Cold house here too...electric went earlier as well...Its getting ridiculous, we are spending about £10 every 3 days! That's without using the tumble dryer and bear minimum everything else!!

Evening all

I am a lit bit more calm now. For those that dont know I am having a double mastectomy and reconstruction in Feb due to an extreamly high risk of Breast cancer (85%). I have already had my ovaries removed in July. I want to live, to see my children grow up, but I also dont want to scar them too much as I will be pretty unwell for 12 weeks at least.

I have done the tesco shop and a big one for my mum too.

I need to iron, but that may wait.

I am going to sort the manic children out and then may be back.

Fuel bills We will be paying for ours still next winter

There isnt any local community nurserys - all went out of bloody business when surestart took over

This was arranged by Social Services, as they decided it would be the best way forward. Boys dont need a social worker, just some short term help. They are coming next week now, which is fine, as long as they turn up.

I just want the boys to be in a secure envirnment when DH has to go back to work after a couple of weeks off looking after us all.

Neither mum nor MIL are capable of looking after them both for any length of time (arthritus and lupus respectivley) my lovley SIl and Bro will help as much as they can, but looking after my two and their 3 year old and run the club wont be easy and also their 14 year old is going off the rails at the moment. Plus neice has moved back in (baby L's mum) after she split with partner. So in thruth I think they have enough on their plate without the mini mads.

I was just grumpy and have a headache. DH pissed himselve when I told him that I said "this is how children slip through the cracks". They have messed with the wrong woman. I suppose I am not their typical basket case

Well done you, I prescribe wine and lots of it for jaw ache
