Morning All

We have had a tough night with DS1, his chest is bad again, though DH has took the brunt of it last night - thanks dear

Right, so were are we. Well today you need to read a fly testimonital or another bit of the fly site

It is also time to add the laundry in to your daily routine. It doesnt matter wether this is evening or morning, just when it suits you.

So our routines should be looking something like this

Morning Routine

  • Get up and get dressed doing your hair and face
  • Make your bed
  • Looking at your posted reminders in the kitchen and bathroom
  • Reading 2 minutes of reminders
  • Recognizing the negative voices and changing them
  • Put out your Hot Spots for 2 minutes
  • 5 Minute Room Rescue (pick any room in the house) set your timer and go!
  • Laundry
  • Mission

Before Bed Routine

  • Keep your sink shining
  • Lay out your clothes for tomorrow
  • Put out your Hot Spot
  • Laundry
  • set a regular bedtime and stick to it

As you can see our routines are getting larger and should be becoming natual to do.

Love your thread. I've started another one just because I've got a day off and have such odd things to do. I want to share it with other people just for the motivation. Hope you don't mind. .
I've got Hunnybun on my thread but I don't think she's back from school and I need to get going. She might have already gor started and dropped the internet stuff to save time.So here goes. It's a huge list
The race is on. I've done a little preparation today, put the toys that need to go to the charity shop by the trolley today. I'm going to wash Fireman Sam's helmet (does that sound rude?!!!) in a moment as nursery have fancy dress tomorrow, pls pray that he still wants to be Fireman Sam tomorrow.
So the list goes.
1.Take DS to nursery. quickly check what time the laundry opens.
2.Return home and put washing on dryer washing in machine.

  1. Put outside dryer in the shed doubt if we get a dry day now.
3 clean up toys to take to charity shop. 4.Tidy toys and probably add more if they fit in the trolley. Put various items (potty that a friend thought she wanted but changed her mind back in the loft.) Look for spare single quilt for Mum to when she stay over. It must be some where.
  1. Get Ds toddler linen under my bed or in a draw in his room.
  2. Order online QPR stuff for DH. Get songs for a song sheet (long story)
  3. Take toys etc. to shop.
  4. return home see if I have time to get another load drying.
9 Get a service wash for summer quilt and pillows. 10. return home have Roast lamb sandwich 11. brush teeth (garlic in lamb) 12. Go to hairdressers 13. Buy two single sheets for spare new bed 14. Collect boots, fab Duo boots. 15. Collect dresses that have been altered 15. If I have time look for camera Haven't a clue where it might be. 16. before collecting Ds at 5.30pm pop to jenny's with her pie dishes. 17. Photocopy Birth Cert 18. Post bill to council It's a tall order but it got to be done. You would think I lived in a huge house with all the stuff I lose but it's only a 2 1/2 bed house. The camera & quilt must be some where under something????
TheMadHouse · 25/11/2008 09:31

Welcome Starbear - anyone is welcome on the fly threads

I have hoovered upstairs
We are all fed and dressed
Washer is on
hotspots x 2
took mat outside and beat it within an inch of its tiny life

DS1 wants to be able to tell the time, so we have just gone though how to do it and I have given him a watch we got (in the sale at disney store ages ago for £2.50) and told him when it gets to 9.55 am we are leaving for toddlers. I guess it will be hard work, but at least he wants to learn.

BiancaCastafiore · 25/11/2008 11:07

Hello

TMH thanks for the thread, and your lists - they're great for inspiration
Star wow at your list - good luck!
Fivedollar Good Luck with the theory test FLYladies have a good record for driving tests - EHM passed easily last month
Greyskull I saw that thread. I kind of get where she's coming from in a way. Dh and I had a horrible time a while ago and since making up made a real effort to be extra nice to each other - it all felt a bit fake at first but I have to admit we both feel better for recognising what we each contribute towards the household, IYKWIM? I'm not sure I could do the whole bringing him a drink every eve when he gets home thing though, and I don't think he'd like it anyway.
Sag Glad you had a fun weekend. How are things with dh away?
Wild hope you get a rest today x

I am feeling much better in myself today but am still being ill so am going to try to take it easy. I have had a quick walk around the house putting the worst mess away. I am always grateful to FLY when I've been ill because it never seems to take too long to get the house back to a reasonable standard
Dd is performing in a HUGE choir event today which I was very much looking forward to seeing but I have had to accept I won't be able to go I am really very disappointed about it. Dh will go though, and possibly my dad too

My food shopping has just been delievered so I'll put that away then sit of the sofa for a bit. I might try some soup for lunch but will see how I feel.

Jas · 25/11/2008 11:13

Morning

Thanks for the thread TMH.
Poor ds1. I hope he gets well soon.

Good luck with that list starbear

No idea what I need to do yet today[blsuh]
We overslept this morning and I went straight to the shops from school so nothing has been done yet.

I did look at that thread briefly Greyskull but tend to agree with custy, mostly. I have a friend who tried it, and it was great for a while, but very hard to keep up long term, and i think she ended up resenting the work she was putting in.

I do try not to make things more difficult at home, and will try and do a job I don't care about but know dp will appreciate, but it is much more of an equal relationship than what is being discussed there.

Jas · 25/11/2008 11:15

Bianca - Will he be able to video it for you?

BiancaCastafiore · 25/11/2008 11:25

I'll send dh with the camera, Jas, but doubt he'll be abel to video it (or even see dd tbh - it's a huge event with choirs from all over the region) There'll be a CD we can buy in January so I'll wait for that. Dd is sure to give me my own show at some point over the next few days too It'll be a very late night for her, they're predicting the coach may not be home till midnight!! And all pupils are expected in school as usual at 8.30 tomorrow morning....not sure dd will cope very well with that.

Jas · 25/11/2008 12:12

Oh, I didn't realise it was that big an event.

I hope she enjoys it.

TheMadHouse · 25/11/2008 12:13

Ah Bianca I didnt quite comprehend it was such a special event - sorry , but glad you are on the mend

Sag You will have wild weekends so serves you right

Waves to everyone else.

greyskull I looked at that thread, but I dont want to be a subservant wifey. We are a partnership. I get a cup of tea in bed every morning from DH and he gets one as he comes in from me .

Somedays I have the boys bathed before he gets in, somedays he does the bathing. It is quiet time though after bath time.

I think the secret is not taking each other for granted, to count your blessings on a daily basis and be gratful that you have each other.

We try and play to each others advantages. I am definatly not a subserviant wife - if you new me you would know just how unlikey it is. In fact before I had children, people thought I would go back to work and never be a stay at home mum - little did they know.

OP posts:
WhereTheWildThingsWere · 25/11/2008 12:23

Just cannot get motivated today I am just sooooooooooo tired.

Bianca glad to hear you are feeling a touch better, sorry you are going to miss your dd's performance.

greyskull I looked at that thread earlier, I think there is something in it, but it would be very easy to be totally taken for granted and end up begrudging it no end. I think we should all try to appreciate out other halves more though, but this obviously includes them too, iyswim.

scattyspice · 25/11/2008 12:43

Hi all.

Re that other thread: dh would run a mile if I turned into a doormat lol (he likes my feisty side).

To do:
Laundry
ds homework

starbear · 25/11/2008 13:09

I read a little of the thread re stepford wife. I do little things that make me a bit 50's wife but it suits us. As I can't clean house gutters, fix doors, tile floors, build foundation to the shed etc.. But if we need as family for DH to cook, look after Ds, make beds and put on washing & hang it, he does that to. I will fix electrics, deal with gadgets and computer stuff and of course go to work. Oh!! mustn't get side tracked still have tons to do. Have done on lot on the list so far and a lot of walking fast as I don't have a car. Keep on truck people (just in case there is a bloke on this)

Bewilderbeast · 25/11/2008 13:18

afternoon all

Get well soon to all the poorly little ones

ds had a better night, still woke up with the coughing but not until a much more reasonable hour - I think it was about 5.15

done
bed made
bath cleaned
rubbish taken out of bathroom
ds taken to granny's
arranged for engagement ring to be cleaned
continued writing xmas shopping list

grouchyoscar · 25/11/2008 13:26

Ruby Star I think I mentioned that I think Kelly lives in Stepford {blush] That is all I said tho

I have also commented that Kelly must live in Annette Benign's house in American Beauty. En-suite is a forign word to a victorian terrace really (as is 'laundry room')

Sorry

TheMadHouse · 25/11/2008 13:27

Argggggggggggggggggggggg I have bumped into someone in the car. Bollocks

Not a lot of damage, but she was a complete drama queen. She must have pulled out behind me, as I was coming back from preschool. DS2 was asleep in the back and stayed asleep throughout, but god you would have though I had killed someone. She had a passenger in the car and a little girl in the back and was swearing etc. My attitude is thank god everyone is OK and it is only a car - it was my fault I have insurance and all will be well.

Mad,Glad everyones okay. Glad I only had the trolley today otherwise would have ended up with tickets, crashes and v.badtemper.

wendylanguage · 25/11/2008 13:43

Oh no Mad nightmare. Hope you're ok. Like you say, it's only a car and all is well and it can happen to anyone!

TheMadHouse · 25/11/2008 13:47

I was just peeved that she took the moral highground. I said straight away I was sorry and that it was my fault, but her response "sorry doesnt fix my bleeping car, does it?" to which I responded "no, but my insurance does"
