but can't be arsed.

This is the start of my time having the whole day with just DS3 (nearly 17 months) as it's DS2's first full day at school, having been part-time previously.

Today didn't start well, despite an early night (for me) - I was woken at 8.45 by a hammering on the door - DS1's friend who knocks for him to walk up to school together.

I leapt out of bed - thankfully DS1 had already got himself dressed and breakfasted -but DS1 was still in his PJ's - a mad frantic dash with me helping him get dressed (he can do it perfectly well himself and pretty fast too -but not as fast as me dressing him lol) and get some breakfast down his throat and I booted him out of the door on his own (don't worry - school is literally my next door neighbour - and I rang just to double check he'd actually gone through the inner gate into school ).

However that left DS3 and I still in our PJ's - and after my mad rush this morning I'm now sat here totally unmotivated......

Haven't got loads to do - but need to do some stuff - but the knowledge that I don't HAVE to get dressed until 3pm isn't helping the motivation factor.

Jobs I need to get done (if you've read through all my waffling ). Are

Get DS3 dressed and myself
Empty the dishwasher
Reload dishwasher and put it on
Do the washing and get it dried
Hoover - upstairs and down
Put the pile of ironed clothes away properly - I shoved it all in the bottom of the wardrobe on Saturday as I was expecting viewers and didn't have time to put it away properly
I do also really need to go to Morrison (not sure if this will happen as it's cold, grey and windy outside lol)
Cook dinner
Try and get some of my stuff on ebay

Thanks Cadmum. I've done one of them, but have taken a look at the kids' one and decided I need a sit-down first. WHY CAN'T PESKY KIDS (and their dads!) HANG BLOODY TOWELS UP? And put their underwear in the basket? And the lid back on the toothpaste? Is it some genetic blip, that only kicks in in women in adulthood?

fullmOOOOOWHOOOOOnfiend · 24/10/2008 11:43

Am i too late? after 2 hours' mooching and procrastination, I am have bottomed living room and hoovered. Would like to clean kitchen, declutter stairs and tackle laundry Mt Everest...

FAQ · 24/10/2008 11:45

fiend - never too late to join the thread

I often don't start my jobs until after the DS's are in bed (8pm)- except today I hope to be almost finished by the time they go to exH's for the weekend - though will probably still have some ironing to do - but I'll do that straight away so I can just chill for the evening.

I only ever really get to tackle housework on my day off...but then there are so many other lovely things to do (MN, read, allotment, sleeep, bath etc)

NoMatterWhoIAmJustType · 24/10/2008 11:58

I'll join today!

Waking up when it's still dark just seems to make me tired for the whole day (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it)

I need to

  • Do a massive clean up in the DC's room, toys everywhere, ripped up books in one corner, clean clothes pulled out of wardrobe on the floor, paint chipped from the walls all stuck in the shaggy rug (sounds lovely doesn't it)
  • Thoroughly rewash every last plate, cup, glass, pan etc that was on the drainer after leaving the skylight window open over night and nasty dirty rain got all over it.
  • Laundry (never ending)
  • Go into loft and get winter duvets and take them to be cleaned (not easy I have to climb onto a chest of drawers to do it as we have no ladder)
  • Clean the floors

-Buy something interesting for dinner as have friend coming round

Have given DDs room a good tidy and clean. Have put everything away, put her new baskets out for little bits etc. Changed her sheet - again, hoovered floor, dusted everything etc.

Also done 1 load of washing and going to hang up when DD goes down for a nap once I have phones council tax (currently on hold).

Made me and DD lunch etc.

Still ideally need to go shopping for some food. Don't have a lot in at all. But DD is getting tired for her nap and then it will be getting late for her.

I want to go to bed

Cadmum · 24/10/2008 16:32

Dishwasher and Laundry are sorted but the living room looks as though a bomb has gone off and DH is home in 2 hours...

As for the rest:

Put away the piles of books that have gathered in every room of the house since we ran out of shelf space. 1/2 way there.

Make Stew for Dinner Done

Shower and get dressed. Not yet...

Big 3 are currently longing to make Cuneiform Tablets... The last thing in the world that I need in another craft project... Done Nice priorities eh?

DD2 is still asleep and the big three have been banished to the garden. If they come through the door, they must tidy up!

I need a cuppa...

FAQ · 24/10/2008 16:34

well I've packed their stuff - will do the rest of the ironing tonight once I've got most of it dried.

So I'm quite

I need to stop looking in Active Convo's because there is nothing there... Boo hoo! I hate housework.

Cadmum · 24/10/2008 16:49

Well done FAQ Does your ExH take all three then?

I cannot imagine my DH with a 17 month old all week end.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 24/10/2008 16:54

i'm in!

today i have:
-filled and ran dishwasher
-ordered flowers for DH's gran's birthday (and got DS to record a message for a talking tag - that took AGES!!)
-taken DS to toddler group
-picked up odds and ends at the shop
-made lunch for DS
-put away 2 MASSIVE baskets of laundry.
-emptied dishwasher & partially refilled it again
-did load of laundry
-dried previous load of laundry

oooh I LIKE this! i makes me feel like I've accomplished something more than sitting on my arse!! (and i can almost ignore the fact that the house is a tip!!)

still need to:
-make dinner
-do ironing (a lot of those clothes that i 'put away' were just dumped in the ironing basket!)
-more laundry (yawn!)
-general tidy of dining room and living room

DH is home in 2 hours. HOw much MNing housework can i get through?

FAQ · 24/10/2008 16:58

yes Cad - he takes them all

It's only recently he's moved somewhere he can have them all weekend, previously it was either all day Saturday, or just Saturday night (had a room in a shared house) - now living in a shared house, but one that he's renting with a friend - so have "free reign" over it (so to speak).

However he then overnight from when DS3 was about 10 months old.

You can't have been separated for 7 months already surely???

Do you still have your dp?

FAQ · 24/10/2008 17:07

Fimbo - yes nearly 7 and 1/2 months now! He moved out March 14th.

No I ditched the DP just over a month ago - he was irritating me, getting a bit clingy and needy

chloemegjess · 24/10/2008 21:02

Want to tidy living room and hoover it before bed so no bits for DD to eat tomorrow morning.

Also need to hand up washing, shame yesterdays still isn't quite dry

Cadmum · 25/10/2008 05:13

Dishwasher and Laundry are sortedAGAIN after dinner.

The living room looks presentable but still needs to be properly hoovered. (We couldn't find the power head. a bomb has gone off and DH is home in 2 hours...

As for the rest:

Put away the piles of books that have gathered in every room of the house since we ran out of shelf space. Now 3/4 of way there.

Shower didn't happen until 10:30 pm...

Today I must sort the landing and the bedrooms.

pumpkinscantdancethetango · 25/10/2008 13:36

Do dishes
put washing on
clean kitchen
general tidy up
clean clothes away
put shopping away

FrockHorror · 25/10/2008 13:48

Well, I'm holding a book party here this afternoon and have invited some school run mums, bearing in mind I have only known them about 6 weeks since DD has been at school, I don't want them to think we are a bunch of mingers! So preparation began yesterday. I cleaned both the bedrooms, the hallway and scrubbed the bathroom. I even hoovered !

I've just done the kitchen, living room and hoovered, and mopped the floors. My house never looks like this. DH thinks Christmas has come early and DD is intent on destroying all the work I've done.

Methinks I should hold book parties more often

chloemegjess · 26/10/2008 21:22

Been visiting family today so have done nothing. Only just gone in and I am off to bed ASAP!

chloemegjess · 29/10/2008 16:44

Where has everybody gone? I NEED to get some stuff done now. I have slept through both DDs Naps today, I am so tired and feel like shit. Had meant to go out to day and feed ducks.go into town but I am not even dressed. .

Want to just get my living room presentable and hoovered and then at least that is one room sorted. DH can do the washing up when he gets in as that is now his "job".

I am going to let myself sit here till 5 and then I need to get my arse in gear. If the living room is tidy by the time DD goes to bed I can hoover when she is asleep and then I can sit in a nice clean/tidy room for the evening and then do another room tomorrow. Need it all done by monday as I will be childminding again.
