but can't be arsed.

This is the start of my time having the whole day with just DS3 (nearly 17 months) as it's DS2's first full day at school, having been part-time previously.

Today didn't start well, despite an early night (for me) - I was woken at 8.45 by a hammering on the door - DS1's friend who knocks for him to walk up to school together.

I leapt out of bed - thankfully DS1 had already got himself dressed and breakfasted -but DS1 was still in his PJ's - a mad frantic dash with me helping him get dressed (he can do it perfectly well himself and pretty fast too -but not as fast as me dressing him lol) and get some breakfast down his throat and I booted him out of the door on his own (don't worry - school is literally my next door neighbour - and I rang just to double check he'd actually gone through the inner gate into school ).

However that left DS3 and I still in our PJ's - and after my mad rush this morning I'm now sat here totally unmotivated......

Haven't got loads to do - but need to do some stuff - but the knowledge that I don't HAVE to get dressed until 3pm isn't helping the motivation factor.

Jobs I need to get done (if you've read through all my waffling ). Are

Get DS3 dressed and myself
Empty the dishwasher
Reload dishwasher and put it on
Do the washing and get it dried
Hoover - upstairs and down
Put the pile of ironed clothes away properly - I shoved it all in the bottom of the wardrobe on Saturday as I was expecting viewers and didn't have time to put it away properly
I do also really need to go to Morrison (not sure if this will happen as it's cold, grey and windy outside lol)
Cook dinner
Try and get some of my stuff on ebay

My house is an utter tip. I have 2 kids at home who seem to get whingey as soon as I get up to do anything. What am I to do??

I have to tidy up;
lounge
kitchen
bedrooms
bathroom

incl hoovering.

I have switched on the washing machine and have taken rubbish out. We're all dressed and have eaten.

I also need to;

Fill out some nursery stuff
Do ds1's school application
send off new passport form
Pay nursery fees

God, the whingeing drives me mad.

chloemegjess · 22/10/2008 14:46

Hi ya. I would like to join in here if that is ok?

Bit late for today as I have been in and out all day BUt I have:

COllected my new double buggy from freecycle,
Hoovered living room and hallway,
Took mindee to school this morning
Tidied living room and hall,
Had my loo fixed
Sat on here for ages .

I need to:
Collect mindee from school,
Phone Ofsted,
Work out how to use new bugy!
Hoover DDs room when she wakes up
Put some washing on and hang up
Clear my PC desk - did the big job the other day and don't want it to get messy again.
Tidy all the paperwork that DD pulled out of the cupboard!

Haven't read all posts but are we all going to come on daily to give each other a kick up the bum?

Need to cook dinner too

UnfortunatelyMurderedMe · 22/10/2008 20:07

Did you two get done? My whole house has fell apart.
IM SURE I got a fair chunk of it done...I am going to keep going tonight till all floors are walkable on without treading over anything...and no shoving it to the side.

Tyme · 23/10/2008 08:54

I didn't get much done.

I managed to clean the kitchen and hoover the lounge and tidy it up a bit (could do with more stuff being put away)

So today;

Clean bathroom
more tidying
clean kitchen
cook lunch for kids and cook dinner for family

All the paperwork I mentioned yesterday

Today I have;

Got us all up and dressed
Had breakfast
Switched washing machine on

FAQ · 23/10/2008 10:19

aha - I see this thread had being used still.

Well Tuesday I didn't get everything done the other day - but the downstairs of my house was looking fabulous.

Now here I am still in my PJ's, as is DS3.

The house is chaos again (and I was out all day yesterday!) how can it descend so quickly?

Anyhow today I must

Have a shower and get dressed
Get DS3 dressed
Empty the dishwasher
Re-rinse the washing I did yesterday which I forgot to dry
Empty the kitchen bin
Go to DS2's first Harvest Festival at school
Sort dinner
Bath the DS's
Iron
Tidy the lounge/diner
Hoover
Sort dinner

I am back too

I have had a couple of days of a tidy house and it obviously got bored being so tidy and has made itself all messy again in case I was getting too much me time

I have got to

Strip beds
Do two loads of washing and somehow get it dried and put it all away
Wash up
Maybe go food shopping but not sure if I can be arsed with that today

I am sure their is more but it makes me sad to make too long a list so I will start with this first

FAQ · 23/10/2008 10:55

ok slow progress here so far - DS3 is now dressed........

ermm and that's it

OP posts:
Tyme · 23/10/2008 12:55

I have

Done lunch and dinner (slow cooker)
Cleaned kitchen
hoovered
put laundry to dry and yesterdays away
cleaned bathroom

Hooray! Not a bad day today. I think we can spend the afternoon out now.

(still got more to do and haven't even touched the paperwork!)

FAQ · 23/10/2008 12:57

I've showered and got dressed, had some lunch and emptied the dishwasher........and that's it lol

I'll be going out in a while to watch DS2 sing "I'm dingle dangle Scarecrow" with the rest of Reception at the harvest service soon

OP posts:
Cadmum · 23/10/2008 13:08

Might this make me accountable?

Daily chores have fallen by the wayside for so long that the list is long. At a bare minimum I must:

Unload the dishwasher.

RE-load the dishwasher and turn it on.

Hang washing. Put on a second load. Fold dry laundry and sort into baskets. Deal with odd socks. (drawers are empty! )

Build Ikea bookshelf. Put away the piles of books that have gathered in every room of the house since we ran out of shelf space.

Buy DS2 a new Hockey Helmet after ensuring that one of the many pairs of skates in the basement will fit him for this season. His first practice is Saturday...

Biggest Hinderance (besides laziness) is DD2 (2.5) as she is poorly and clingy. Big 3 are currently running wild with Lego upstairs.

Thanks for the idea/accountability.

chloemegjess · 23/10/2008 13:32

I have done nothing today. We were up all night as DD teething and was just screaming no matter what we did. So me and DD didn't get up till 10.30am!!

Taking DD to an active tots class today to get her out the house and to hopefully wear her out so she will go to bed at her usual 7pm today.

I want to just do the minimum today:
Hoover DDs room
Washing up
Cook dinner
Do 1 load of washing
Tidy living room and hoover if/when DD goes to bed.

I do cheat with the hoovering though as many of you will now know from the roomba thread.

FAQ · 23/10/2008 15:54

ok I've been to watch DS2, then my BF came round for coffee (as we had a 1/2hr between picking up our infant school children and picking up junior school ones). Just got back from picking DS1 up.

And now it's panic stations - as one of the TA's (who is also the church warden and a good friend of mine) accosted me on the way out of picking DS2 up and asked if we could plan the hymns TONIGHT -

ArGHHHHHHHHHH

OP posts:
chloemegjess · 23/10/2008 16:56

Well I have taken DD to active tots so she has had a good day at least. Trouble is, she is getting tired and grumpy but I can't deal with a repeat of last night so going to keep her up. Just means I have to try and get things done with her around. Going to put the washer on now and hope she will watch it while I start dinner!!

Hoping to put the hoover on in her room before she goes to bed. It is always hard to clean her room, as the main chance I get to clean is when she is asleep!

FAQ · 23/10/2008 16:57

I have now managed to empty the dishwasher, and empty the kitchen bin.

I think I'd better get on.......3hrs until my meeting and I still need to sort dinner

OP posts:
chloemegjess · 23/10/2008 19:18

Dinner sorted
Kitchen and bathroom hoovered

Just going to eat dinner now and then do the washing up

Dh has ds1 and 2 away on hol so am at home with ds3 and have done nothing ... it has been lovely ... but have just remembered that MIL is coming to stay next week so need to start now if the house is to be up to her standards ... maybe I'll start tomorrow ...

Cadmum · 24/10/2008 10:31

It's a new day and the routine starts over...

Unload the dishwasher. AGAIN

RE-load the dishwasher and turn it on. AGAIN

Hang washing. Put on a second load. Fold dry laundry and sort into baskets. AGAIN

Deal with odd socks. (drawers are empty! )DONE (Everyone has their own odd sock basket now so that should simplify things immensely!)

Build Ikea bookshelf. DONE

Put away the piles of books that have gathered in every room of the house since we ran out of shelf space. TO DO

Buy DS2 a new Hockey Helmet after ensuring that one of the many pairs of skates in the basement will fit him for this season. His first practice is Saturday...DONE and packed away in hockey bag with appropriate skates.

Make Stew for Dinner

Shower and get dressed.

Biggest Hinderance (besides laziness) is DD2 (2.5) as she is poorly and clingy. Big 3 are currently longing to make Cuneiform Tablets... The last thing in the world that I need in another craft project... Ho Hum.

Thanks again for the idea/accountability.
