Limescale on glass shower doors

Hi everyone,

I'm in a fairly hard water area and I have such a build up of cloudy limescale on the shower doors it's really annoying me! They always look like they need a clean even when they're freshly done. I've tried Viakal, LG, cleaning little and often with Vinegar, rubbing every week with Cif.

Is there a good limescale cleaner I've missed or do I have to just accept it?

Thanks in advance all.

After every shower we spray shower spray on the glass door and leave it. That’s it, no need to wipe it off or swill it. Just spray and leave. Most brands of shower spray are quite cheap too, around £1 in Asda. (It is actually called Shower Spray).
ETA: never ever had to scrub our doors clean since using this

I can’t scrape or vac as have curved screens.
Will have to try the spray I think.

White vinegar and Isopropyl alcohol 2 to 1 mix in a spray bottle

Spray ( ventilate well ), leave a few minutes, wipe and rinse

Will come up like new with no effort

Yes you can, you can’t go from top to bottom just go side to side. My screen is curved this is how I do mine.

I think it really depends if you live in a hard water area. We do and it’s awful for cleaning

Oh my goodness why hadn’t I thought of that? Lol.
I suppose was thinking I had to scrape downwards!
Thank you

Mines the same. I've always used Viakal and given it a gentle scrub, quick go over with the Karcher and then spray some glass cleaner. It's a pain having to do it so often.

However....I've just had an AQUABION limescale converter fitted to my pipes and it's a game changer. It was only fitted on Saturday and I'm already seeing a massive difference. They're not cheap at £600, but they last 5 years. It treats all incoming water so will help stop other appliances clogging up with limescale such as the dishwasher, washing machine and shower valve. My plumber fitted it free as I was having a new boiler installed.

I just use a dry hand towel to wipe down the inside of the cubicle and the actual shower head/hose/controls when I’ve finished. Something weird happens when you disrupt the droplets, you don’t need to get it bone dry. I don’t get any limescale marks at all and I’m in Kent, hardwater central. I have a couple of hand towels in colours we would never use to dry ourselves, and keep one hanging over the cubicle.
I don’t want to get myself all clean and smelling lovely then start spraying chemicals around.

We live in a hard water area & get bad limescale. Viakil always does the trick on the shower screen - I’m surprised it hasn’t worked for you.
I’m not trying to patronise you so please don’t think that, but have you used it exactly as the instructions say on the back? Only because I have done similar with products myself - but have been genuinely impressed with Viakil on our shower screen which I thought was beyond salvation!
Yes also a squeegee after every shower but tbh we’re more likely to just spray the cheap Tesco shower spray round & just leave it, & I find that quite good.
