Evening Everyone

Not having a very good day today. Im with dream and Tort and anyone else I have missed on the tired list. DS2 is tired as well. We have both been up most of the night. He said his head hurt and ear then started hurting. I took him to the GP but he could not see anything wrong. I have to take him back Monday if he is no better. Im just keeping him topped up with calpol at the moment. He is no-where near himself though.

@ Bianca for smarties eating. I have not had smarties for ages. I could eat some now and would do what you have done if I had some for going on cakes. They would not make it to the cakes. We have not got any chocolate in the house I could do with eating some as well.

The mum was not very good with giving ideas for party food for her DD. If my DD had to be dairy free then I would pass on anything I knew about what DD could and could not eat. I would not only be thinking of the person who does not really know where to start but also for DD as I would not want her to eat something and then become ill.
The weather is looking rubbish for here as well on Sunday. I was lucky with the weather for DSs party with 25 children. It turned out to be a sunny warm day for their party so they could go outside and play and we also done party games outside as well. It was just eating a bit of party food inside , but even then the kids were running in and out with crisp and chocolate fingers etc. They all had fun which was the main thing, although it was hard work after with all the cleaning up.

Right I better go and bath DD then DS2 and then run a hot bath for me once they are in bed. Only wish I had some chocolate to eat. I could have a hot soak while reading a book and eating chocolate

tortoise · 25/04/2008 19:15

DD's are in bed and i am eating chocolate digestives. (sorry HN)
I was Very calm with DD1. She was refusing to go to bed so now she has no tv tomorrow! She still refused until i said i had an ice cream recipe to try out and she wouldn't get any if she didn't go to bed! That worked! And i didn't shout at all.

hi all
no flying again today.
iwent into uni and gave my presentation, was in a complete state before hand, i was last so had to sit through 4 hrs of everyone elses very interesting and brilliant presentations. i was shaking by the time it was my turn,i think it went ok tho i didnt forget what i had to say, and am told by others i didnt speak to fast, some big smiles from the girls i practised with the other day, so it must have been better than the practise run ( well tbh i know it was, i even managed to work the computer slides whilst talking).
was very nervous when i saw the tutor marking, i like her think she is good lecturer etc. but she is very emotional and can come across like an over- enthusiastic 3 yr old sometimes i was dreading looking at her as i dont beleive if it was a naff presentation and i was talking balls she would have been able to hide it. she smiled at me lots, which i'm taking as a good sign.
just have to wait for the results now
oh and do my final 2 assignements which are due next week

grouchyoscar · 25/04/2008 20:24

Hello

Crazy Crazy Day here.

Lots of FLYing, Ed being lovely/annoying/demanding/sulky in equal measures. He left his book bag at school...well he blamed me (shock)I may have dropped it but he did dump a coat, jumper, backpack, lunchpack and bookbag on me, with a walking stick and a shopping bag, then attempts to 'abduct' another child to take home and play {shock] So I'm trying to put out that fire as well. Calmed down the newly whimpering kid and walk back to school. Caretaker is just locking up but lets us in and....Book bag in his draw {blush]

And grouchy who just popped buy to say Hi and rant and....oh, you know, I have no life...

Annoy you all tomorrow

tortoise · 25/04/2008 20:48

Glad it went ok dyls GO I wouldn't have gone back for the book bag, But it is nearly a mile walk to school!
Mine are all well trained in carrying their own bags!

BiancaCastafiore · 25/04/2008 21:19

Dyls well done [impressed] You have my greatest admiration for doing your presentation
Huts I have another packet of smarties here which keep calling me...I'm resisting so far!
Well done on the calm bedtime Tort
Luda the walking/running thing looks good...I'm tempted to give it a go. I've been cycling everywhere this week which has been great.

Well, I went ot the supermarket and got food for the party. I found some dairy-free marg (Pure I think was the name) so will make some cookies tomorrow with dd. I was amazed by how many foods contain dairy!

Very tired. Dh and I are about to have supper - all running v late this eve - dd has only just gone to bed

tortoise · 25/04/2008 21:34

Resist the smarties Bianca! I haven't used my bike much lately. Had to take DD2's seat off. It had a big crack in the plastic. Can't decide if i should get another or not. She can ride her own without stabilisers already! (Mainly down hills)
I really want to start the running again. I was enjoying it.

dylsmum1998 · 25/04/2008 21:39

tort how old is dd2?
could you try one of those hitch a ride bike thingys? that go on the back of your bike so she could practise pedalling as well? one of the mums at ds's infant school had one and it looked great her ds used to love it

tortoise · 25/04/2008 21:57

She is 3. (4 in july). I exect those aren't cheap are they?
Bloody pc keeps shutting down again. Even after doing 2 system restores!

If it goes again i will go to bed!

dylsmum1998 · 25/04/2008 22:07

wow thats brilliant, she's very clever riding a bike already
just looked up on halfords and no, sorry they not cheap- me and my big ideas they are£69.99, might be cheaper on ebay. had no idea they were that expensive

tortoise · 25/04/2008 22:09

She shocked me when she started peddling down a hill. She has good balance!
Will have to leave it a while then check Ebay when i have some money( never then!)lol.

dylsmum1998 · 25/04/2008 22:27

i'm absolutely amazed, you must be so proud of her, i've never heard of such a young one ridng. its brilliant!!!

dont blame you for having to wait a bit, i had no idea of the cost just like the look. i talked to the mum back then who had it, as i like the idea of having one for me and ds (this was before dd arrived) and he was too big to use one (or i was too small depending on your perspective. you have to be double (i'm sure it was) your child's weight for it to balance and be safe to use

Nutsaboutchocolate · 25/04/2008 22:40

@ Tort with her chocolate digestives.
Bianca you still have smarites I know! I know! they have to go on the cakes

Dyls well done for doing your presentation. I would have not got up in front of everyone let alone speak

I have just got DS2 of to sleep. He is not himself at all. He says nothing hurts but he is so quiet. He would start to go to sleep but then would move his head to his ear that he said was hurting earlier to day and then wake-up again. I`m going to let him sleep in my bed tonight. I can keep a better eye on him then. I would be up and down all night checking to see if he is ok if not.

I did not get my nice hot bath but DS2 needed me more than I needed a bath.

Oh Tort Do you have the ebay tool bar? I had it on my laptop and it kept making my browser close and made my laptop really really slow. I removed it (being the last programme I added to the laptop) and everything was fine from removing it. Dont know why ebay`s tool bar would do that though. I did not use it so it was a wasting space anyway.

Going to bed now. Hope to see you all over the weekend

Night night
