How to get grass stains out of cricket whites

SusannahSu · 06/06/2024 08:24

Hello,

I have tried soaking in Vanish for whites for hours and hours to no effect. Has anyone found anything that actually works? I daren’t wash them on 60 degrees, only 40.

Thanks

Just wash as normal. Old stains are gradually covered by new stains. And no one really cares anyway .

and this
you will get many stains fade with the methods of this thread but some will remain and add to the character

Apply Dr Beckman's carpet stain remover to the stain, then wash at 40C with bio soap powder.

As mother to a cricket playing son this is my genuine advice. Don't bother. They will just acquire grass stains next game.

Green fairy liquid rubbed in before water goes on them and scrub with a nail brush. Then vanish. Then sun.

Above works well. Most cricket 'whites' are cream polyester and mud is much tougher to get out than grass. Plus the red dye from polishing the ball on their legs! Even if they're not a bowler, all the fielders 'shine' the ball as they pass it around. Vanish again for this.

Thanks a lot for the responses. Using the sun is the hardest one to actually try out this year.
