Afternoon all.
Welcome newbies.
TeaDr1nker I read your name completly wrong until i saw Luda's post.

I made a good start on the kitchen this morning. Will carry on after lunch. Which is only cooking thanks to Bianca and her DH's advice re; cooker not working! Thankfully only the fan oven and one ring not working so far. So i could carry on cooking my carrot, orange and coriander soup!

Hope op goes ok FGS.

I don't wear shoes in the house either and only wear slippers when my feet get cold!

Ooooommmmmmm....'Ting'

Grouchy say you cannot organise clutter, just get shut of it

'ting'

I hoard stuff for months/years I always feel that the something will come in useful somewhere. Then I get a declutter bug, chuck out the stuff and...

...'Oooh, I have something for that I'll dig it out'...

And lo, it came to pass that I shoved it in the recycling bin that was emptied 2 days ago and I'll have to buy a new one.

I think I hoard for security, I need to have 'stuff' as it will make me useful to have around. I'm getting much better at letting stuff go now.

Oooooooommmmmmmmmmm

If you can live without it be ruthless and get rid of it.

OOOh, it's all gone a bit Arthur Sultan and The Bognor Express! Sorry

Musings of the overactive brain of Grouchy....I'm thinking of getting Ed a ukelele for his birthday I think he'd like it

tortoise · 29/03/2008 15:34

lol you two!

I have a nearly tidy, clean kitchen. Floor has just been washed.

Have a horrible cold sore on my lip again though!

DontDreamItBeIt · 29/03/2008 16:23

GO and Ruby
I've decluttered so much that the two thigs I now need, and know I had, seem to have gone to the charity shop. (Summer shoes for ds, and a really nice Tutankhamun book for dd1s holiday homework)

We had fun at the farm, but dp forgot to bring in the washing before it rained.

Just realised I'm too late for FGS....I hope i goes well this weekend.

Grouchy - Where are you hearing/seeing Yo Gabba Gabba??? It only means the Ramones to me....

Grouchyoscar · 29/03/2008 17:01

Jas it's on Nick Jr and it's just down right weird. Takes a lot to get me to say that about kids tv

Just spoken to my bro for the 1st time in at least 6 mths We need to meet up and touch base.

Need sleep

TheMadHouse · 29/03/2008 17:11

Evening all

Belated hope all is OK for FGS

Waves to newbies

Ruby Bad habits and doctors - I have no ideas do fill us in

GO I do not get yo Gabba at all infact I turn it off as it is strange

Strange day here - i went off to Ikea with mum and the boys and all was well, but just as we were leaving DS1 started sreaming that his tail was hurting - It is really sore and swollen, so administered drugs (calpol) and dashed the hour home. Rang out of hours service and they can not see him till 8.10 pm

So he is running round in the nube helping his daddy paint a wall in his new bedroom.

I am doing tea and then dropping mum home with DS2 and then doing the bath time routine. I will also need to buy more paint for his room as we have run out of the light bblue. We compromised with light blue and dark blue he wanted light blue, red and pink!!!

The reason I was at ikea was buying red lampshades as I agreed red can be his accent colour - he is a really grown up 3 year old - chose not to have a theame, so he could have it for longer

Grouchyoscar · 29/03/2008 18:57

TMH which IKEA? If it was the Leeds one you could have popped in for a cuppa. I only live in the next town

Oh DS's 'tail' (ahem) Ed had that this year. His was sore and swollen and bright red on the foreskin. Seems it was an infection (probably from fiddling . Just needed anti-bios and calpol

The artist on Yo gabba gabba just disturbs me. and the hat that DJ Lawrence wears (eek) and I thought Nick Jr couldn't get worse than Wonderpets! (Then again, The Faries are puke inducing and the Wiggles were just creepy)

IVC any interesting cookbooks to let go of? I'm after another Georgio Locatelli (actually I'm after Georgio but that's a different story). Would you be prepared to sell me any that I might be interested in? ,,Cheeky mare emoticon>>

Ruby Bad habits....hmmm...are they as bad as mine (falling off ledges, changing lightbulbs with the power on, falling down ladders) You don't go in for box jellyfish wrestling do you?

House looks very clean now, just watch DH mess it up for me DH is making a curry so yum yum

Ommmmmmmmmm 'ting'

Everyone stop FLYing and have a lovely evening

'ting' Oooooommmmmmmmmmmm

TheMadHouse · 29/03/2008 22:10

Just got DS1 back in bed and his Anti'bs - GO you were right as always master. If his swollen and puss filled, but it hurts him to go to the loo so much. We ideed do live paralle lives.

I went to Newcastle Ikea, but it is same distance as Leeds, so next time I might just take you up on that cuppa

I hate wonderpests, but the ds's love them and the wiggles too, dora and diego are favs at the moment.

FLy wise DH ran out of paint, so I need to get some in the morning and then I need to sort the chaos upstairs out - change curtains round etc. So that is my job for tomorrow, in addition to:

Roast beef and yorkshires
Ironing
Swap boys warbrobes round
Build Bunks when they arrive with DH
Build table from ikea (Child size) and paint top with blue black board paint (get your heads round that one)
Mourning routine

Oh and remember CLOCKS GO FORWARD TONIGHT

babyjjbaby · 29/03/2008 22:32

hello everyone
done
tidied up upstairs

tidied up downstairs
vacuemied downstairs

washing done and drying
nappies washed need to hang up
baby food made blended and in freezer

haven't been doing much flying just keeping the house ticking over and trying to keep it tidy and just giving it a quick clean up as i am getting the baby into a routine the last couple days so hopefully will be back on track tomorrow

DontDreamItBeIt · 30/03/2008 08:44

morning

I don't think we get nick Jr...sounds like a good thing tbh

Clocks going forward meant the dds lay in today. I put them forward as soon as they went up so after playing for an hour, dd1 came down, saw it was 10.00 and went straight to bed to sleep
DD2 is still asleep.

I have no plans at all today, so I may try and get some FLYing done, as we will be very busy next week (I have days out planned every day)

Ludaloo · 30/03/2008 08:47

Morning All

Up bright an early this morning. Sun is beaming in through the kitchen, hopefully it will be a nice day!!

GO I have to endure annoying children's tv too. Actually its not that bad...DD2 is addicted to Dora...and Go Diego Go, she loves Fifi and Peppa Pig...those I can tolerate..
I agree with you on Yo Gabba Gabba...but my all time cringe inducing crap is The Doodlebops...AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH I hate it!
There was an article on the Doodlebops somewhere...and they are really big in America apparently...have made millions!
FGS!! DON'T ENCOURAGE THEM!! Stop watching them America!!!

Well I have a fair bit to do in the house today. I was out a lot of yesterday, so I can hopefully let the kids out and get cracking.

Morning Dream, Tea and Luda. This clock changing thing has thrown me totally! Don't know how it is 9.25 already. Just finishing breakfast while DD rolls around on the floor and tries to work out how to crawl. She can only go backwards at the moment and is getting v annoyed with herself!
Morning routine mostly done just need to wash dishes and put nappies on to dry. Lovely and sunny here too but it was like this yesterday and by lunchtime it was so dark I had to put the lights on.

TheMadHouse · 30/03/2008 10:06

Morning all

Tea welcome back - good start with the shinny sink.

Well - I just need to comend M&S, we ordered bunk beds off them, to be delivered between 10 and 2 today and they are here and they are also building them and price wise they were same as argos as we bought with 20% off

Then we are off enfamile to B&Q.

DS1 update - no wee, still green goo. We are giving him loads to drink.

So loads of flying and stuff, ehoy the sun

Ludaloo · 30/03/2008 10:47

Its 10.43!!! I got very distracted!!!! I've been watching "Evan Almighty" very funny.....we got it out from the video shop yesterday.
Its the one where a very well to do business man gets a mission from god...to build and ark....I enjoyed it but the kids got fed up after 10 mins!

Half the day has gone! I had better go and get dressed even the kids are dressed!
DH is still in bed, so I'd better get him up too!
Gawd...

TeaDr1nker · 30/03/2008 10:49

Lovely to know i am not the only mother up with a DP in bed still.

Have put washing on and loaded up tumble dryer - but still in PJ's

DontDreamItBeIt · 30/03/2008 10:56

DP is up, but only because he is a work

I'm no dressed, nor are any of the children. I have washed up and cleaned the hob, plus second load of waashing is in the machine. I'd better o and hang the first lot up,it won't dry inthe basket, will it.

Grouchyoscar · 30/03/2008 11:21

Morning ALL

I had a bad night's sleep. DH didn't put any ginger in the curry and it sat heavy on my tum Plus it was so nice I scoffed buckets of it which didn't help

My DONE list stands at

Make our bed
Make Ed's bed
Fill bird feeder

and....errh, that's it. Everything has been done by me yesterday. If pushed I could

Ironing
Clear the cat cellar
S&S the white goods in the kitchen

But the battle of wills is due to occur. Ed keeps wheedling out of reading practise and he will do some today.

Oh heck, I forgot about the Doodlebops [shudder]. I've become immune to Deigo but Dora does annoy me, she just seems to shout everything 4 or 5 times and it makes me cross. I'm a old school kid's TV nazi though. Ed will watch say The magic roundabout (replace with Mr Men, Roobarb, Basil Brush) and I will dig out my old videos and do the 'this is proper Magic Roundabout, isn't that better?' Haven't unleashed the glory of Dougal and the Blue Cat on him yet though, I think that requires the ingestion of psychoactive narcotics tbh. Good thing is Ed loves the Trumptonshire Trilogy, Jamie and the magic -tongue- torch and Mr Benn so there is hope for him there

I will desist in prattling. See you soon - over the moon
