Morning all. Sorry for the title - not feeling very inspired. Will be back with the mission.

dylsmum - I've been FLYing for almost 2 years now and this is still an event worthy of comment.

Bianca - She obviously knows just which buttons to press for a reaction.(don't they all?) Mine seem to have to keep pushing until I get cross, too. I try to hold back on the angry response and tell them in a very calm voice that I WILL get cross when I'm giving my final reminder....it works more than 1/2the time.

DP got home and still managed to pick holes in the state of the house. No matter how much I do, there is always something I've not done.

Thanks Jas I usually manage to keep my cool she just pushed it that step too far this evening We have made up again now and agreed that we both have bad tempers which we need to control Feeling like a failure tonight though
Everyone else seems to know what they're doing, I'm just not up to this parenting lark

dylsmum1998 · 18/03/2008 20:09

ah bianca dont be so hard on yourself. yoou are not a failure- kids are sods they love to push and see how much they can get away with. you've made up with her- so you reacted in a way you would rather have not had ( which we all do), but you have shown her that you are human and dont always do things by the book, by apologising and sorting things out between you both you are showing her how to behave to make things right again.

dream could you not politely suggest that dp does the housework, so he can show you how he would like it to be done- by doing it himself

Not read the whole thread. Just last few posts.
Bianca Sorry you have had a bad evening with DD. It is really hard to stay calm. You are a good parent not a failure. I felt the same after swearing and shouting the other night. bug ((( hugs ))) for you. i am about if you need to chat. I would say you are maybe more on edge because of you worry about the weekend too.

dylsmum1998 · 18/03/2008 20:11

dylsmum1998 · 18/03/2008 20:22

TheTortoiseandtheEasterbunny · 18/03/2008 20:26

He seems ok now. I came downstairs this morning and found two more patches of sick! (Nice!) vet said it might be the tablets and to stop one lot of them but complete the course of antibiotics.

dylsmum1998 · 18/03/2008 20:40

ah hopefully that will work and make him better now

TheMadHouse · 18/03/2008 20:57

evening all

GO I am a firm beleiver that you will get the right job for you and that there is one out there, please dont be disheartened

Bianca I do know exactly how you feel. I am sure that we are hardwired to shout sometimes and they know which buttons to push. DS1 (3) can do it too.

Oh I had loads else to say, but have forgotten

I have been married 13 years today

DS1 had a full session at preschool and loved it and has asked to go back tomorrow

DH has dug 3 ton of soil (clay) out of the back garden to relay the patio. He is very sore and not used to hard labour being a pen pusher. He now has the patio to lay and a retaining wall.

Incase it rains I have also been out a bought a couple of cans of paint - he has taken the week off

I have had to mop the ground foor though due to all the mud being trampled in.

FLYwise I am doing OK, although I didnt do much whilst DS1 was a preschool apart from laze and read a mag

I need to get the washing sorted and ironing tomorrow and we are swimming.

dylsmum1998 · 18/03/2008 21:03

TMH congrats on your anniversary. Love the tins of paint as his present from you
glad ds1 enjoyed pre-school. takes a huge weight off your mind knowing they not gonna be kicking and screamin everyday

TheMadHouse · 18/03/2008 21:11

Thanks Dylsmums

I am a great forman you know - it comes from being in charge of this sort of thing when I worked (Facilities Manager). I like to keep him busy

DontDreamItBeIt · 18/03/2008 21:57

Congratulations TMH
