Kitchen bin

Sorry for the boring topic, but we are getting our kitchen redone and have opted not to have integrated type kitchen bin so im looking for a good kitchen bin.

Ideally looking for:

One suitable for a busy household of 5
Looks nice and sleek
Ideally 2 compartments, one for main waste and one for plastic

Ive looked at the "simple human" but seems expensive and perhaps not that large.

Also looked at this one, i like the idea of it https://www.amazon.co.uk/Addis-Recycling-compartments-Kitchen-Stainless/dp/B08V5BGKHT/ref=asc_df_B08V5BGKHT/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=573125676940&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15490933765824301764&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046947&hvtargid=pla-1600630574868&psc=1

But dont need 3 compartments.

Does anyone have any recommendations please

I'd reconsider the integrated bin, personally! We renovated last year and had our kitchen redone with everything integrated (including the bin). I MUCH prefer this as it looks a lot neater that having one on show IMO. Ours is quite large (double the size of the bunk you linked) and also has the two compartments plus a little shelf above for bin liners etc.

I'd also reconsider, we have an integrated bin with 3 compartments, waste, glass and recycling. Its brilliant, its between the sink and hob and I just open the drawer and wipe the crumbs etc st into it. There is also the little ledge above it as the previous poster said for the bin bags, and all the foils, films and greaseproof paper.

We currently have one, i just hate it. its really small and was a nightmare to use.

This time we had to choose between a full size dishwasher or a slim line one plus integrated bin.

So we chose the full size dishwasher which will change our life 😂

In hindsight I would not have an integrated bin again. The one we ended up with is way too small. It has two compartments, but the rear compartment is pretty much unusable as it is too difficult to use and the front one is too small, even for two of us. It doesn't use anywhere near the capacity available in the cupboard. Anything larger is cost prohibitive so I expect I'll end up making a custom one eventually.

I wish I'd left space for a free standing bin.

We've just renovated and also have an integrated bin in 3 sections. I use it daily, BUT, there is a large section at the top which is wasted space. Technically, the bins could be 1/3 bigger if this space was actually used. I've been temped to remove the integrated bit, and just stick a separate bin in there!

I prefer a bin where you can leave the lid open if throwing multiple things in. Not a foot pedal where you need to press it every time. I also have a simple human bin I bought about 12yrs which is still going strong.

There was a thread recently about bins, which I'll link if I can find it.

I would spend the money to get Simple human or something similar. Compared to the cost of a new kitchen it's a drop in the ocean but you're going to be looking at it a long time. The quality of the expensive ones does show through.

A lot is just how big you want it to be and how much space you have for it. I think this John Lewis one looks practical but they have quite a few. I tend to veer away from stainless steel as it shows every fingerprint and it always rusts in the end.
