Hello again to all. Lots going on here.

ic Thanks for letting me down gently with you declining my offer. [small sniff] [weak smile]

FGS I'm jealous of your morning! Was that a proper fair teacup ride? Re: the windows. I have 7 downstairs plus conservatory and 6 upstairs. We do have someone who comes around the area cleaning windows monthly and I think he charged £15 for the house only. He doesn't come here, though. [skinflint emoticon]!

TMH I seem to have missed out on hearing about future ops. I hope they go well for you.

go I told ds the other day. "When you come home and see the kitchen lovely and tidy, it doesn't mean you can think "Oh good, nothing to be done, I'll go and chill/watch tv/play music", it means you should think "Oh, Mum has been busy. I'll offer her a cup of tea!" He'll be a good lad for someone one day once I've finished training him. She'll have to be fond of sport and music though!

Grouchyoscar · 23/02/2008 19:18

Hello again you lot

Seems like I'm getting my own way for once. Rather than staying in to FLY this aft I went down town, had a coffee and a manicure, pottered round Tesco and pottered home.

DONE

Mopped bathroom
Mopped downstairs
Dusted mantlepiece
Dusted bedroom
Put clothes away
Been shopping
Home and put it away
Remove usable meat off 2 ham bones and put in freezer (carbonara stash)
Put ham bones in freezer (minestrone stash)
Make a 'birdcake' for our feathered friends from left over seeds, lard and ham fat (It's hardening in the fridge for morning)
De soot fire and light
Fill in bird spotter sheet (Great tit and collared dove)

No one has noticed I have done very little so why do I bother. The Boys get home and DH goes to his office and Ed just wants to play his Lego StarWars game. I think that makes me redundant now

Have a great night Ruby

and everyone else have fun

Janni · 23/02/2008 20:32

Ruby - hope you have a great night.
Well done to all the spring cleaners - am nowhere near that at the moment, just trying to restore some order before getting back to my weekly routine.

PuppyDogTails · 23/02/2008 20:59

Blimey, haven't you all been diligent!! I've cleared out the food cupboard and chucked away everything out of date (which was more than half the contents ) if that counts?

TheMadHouse · 23/02/2008 22:52

I am on the just getting things straight thing too.

As we are going to try and decorate throughout, I will spring clean each room once it is painted before everyting goes back in.

One good thing about flying is that I dont really need to spring clean it is great at keeping me on top if things

BiancaCastafiore · 24/02/2008 07:19

I've been awake for ages - can't sleep again Have been trying to put off coming on MN cos once I'm here I'll be here for ages

Wow, everyone was productive yesterday!

Luda I think I'll join the Spring cleaning once the kids are back at school I'm feeling so much better for making such a visable improvement to our utility room that I feel spurred on to get the rest of the house sorted.
Ruby I hope you had a great evening

Dh moved some pegs in the utility room last night so that's helped it look even better in there. We just need some paint on the wall(only one visable wall) and it'll look finished (I hope)

We were up till late last night working in dds room. We've moved her desk and a couple of other bits and taken down her string of artwork....I hope she likes it the way it is...I'm not sure, she's so sentimenal about things...we'll have to wait and see when she gets home this afternoon. We're going to get her a large notice board to go over her dest for her pictures etc.
We've decided against the stickers, they're not the same colour as they look on the picture I ordered from so would dominate the room too much I think.

Well, I've sorted some laundry and had a tidy-up downstairs. I need to get some more washing in the machine but dh is sleeping so I don't want to wake him by going up and down the stairs too much.

I've lost my best watch (a Tintin one ) and a LOST dvd we were sent so have been searching high and low for them but they have both vanished

TheMadHouse · 24/02/2008 08:11

Morning Bianca I hope you find the watch and DVD, I am sure you will

DS1 is up and dressed and watching the lion king. I am still in PJ's. DH is having a lie in and I am going to go and get DS2 up in a minute.

We are off to Newcastle and Ikea today, to check out some storage for their new room. I also want to look at those duvet covers in person adn that is our nearest John Lewis - I do miss having one on our doorstep.

Fly wise - not planning a lot today, weekends are family really, but will get the washer on and general everyday stuff.

Hope you all have a lovley Sunday

PuppyDogTails · 24/02/2008 08:21

Morning Bianca and TMH.

Not planning much FLYing today, need to do the ironing but I might just leave it at that.

I'm still the only one up (with DS of course), been up since 6:30am, I'm not sure if I'm being unreasonable (but I'm not going to start an AIBU thread!!). DP has to be up at 6am in the week for work so I do feel he deserves a lie in, but I do get up with him most mornings (albeit I don't have to go to work) so I never get a lie in. Yesterday DS woke at 7:15am and that's the longest lie in I've had since he was born.

Ludaloo · 24/02/2008 08:25

Good Morning Everyone

BTW, In an hour of moderate housework, you burn on average, 234 calories!
So you can do a few hours, then treat yourself to something yummy and not have to worry!

RubyAndgoNumberOneFan · 24/02/2008 08:57

Hello to all. TMH I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know what to say that doesn't sound trite. I don't know if you do hugs but I am thinking of you.

luda Hi. Did anyone you know go to see the medium recently? I was just reading about it in our local paper.

PuppyDogTails It is hard, isn't it? I think sharing the getting up on the w/e is fair. Maybe you do the Sat and him the Sun morning?

BC You have been busy! I expect the lost items will turn up somewhere unexpected - hopefully soon.

Ruby I'm glad you liked the name. Tbh, I've fancied a change for a while so I'll change it again soon. I don't know what to, though.

Right. I've got some work (paid) to do today so I'd best get showered and dressed and get to it. See you later!

intravenouscoffee · 24/02/2008 09:02

Morning all. Sooo impressed by how productive you all are! Just plodding on here. Dh is at work so I've stripped the beds and done normal morning routine but nothing more exciting than that. It does make a difference. I've only been doing Fly for a week and already the house looks infinitely better. Also, DH is making a huge effort - washing things up as soon as he's used them, putting washing in the dryer etc so I feel a whole lot better about the housework in general. Hadn't realised how much it was getting to me until things have started to improve. So a big thank you to whoever started the anti-Fly thread last week or I might never have found you lovely ladies! Hope you all have enjoyable Sundays
