Vacuum seal bags

Hi, can any one recommend good vacuum seal bags? I bought some in Home Store and More to pack away baby clothes that no longer fit (will hopefully have more DC) I also thought they would be really handy for my heavy winter PJs/ dressing gown.
They all vacuumed up well and I was delighted. But over the following 2 weeks they are all either fully unvacuumed or on route to being so. Apart from 1. I am willing to accept user error!

I bought cheap ones from Home Bargains/Quality Save and they have been great, no air leaks...I have found that you have to make sure the seal along the top is really tight though. I reseal it and make sure the edges are well pressed together before sucking the air out

Hey, I used the "spacesaver" bags! I bought mine on Amazon - mixed pack of 8 was around £20.
However, they have a lifetime guarantee! One of my bags split (pretty sure it was user error!) and I had to go through a contact form on their website, then they sent a whole new pack out to me!
This happened one evening and the new pack arrived two days later.
I haven't had any issues with the bags otherwise and am so impressed with the customer service, I recommend them to everyone 😊

Thanks both. I will re-seal the bags and try again. Well I did try re-seal 2 and try again but they un-vaxed very quick.

If not I'll try out those other one. Life time guarantee sounds good!

Hi there! I believe I had heard my friend suggest Ziploc when this topic came up. It's quite mature of you to accept it as a user error. But sometimes it can the product too. Okay, When using vacuum seal bags, make sure the seals are securely fastened and that the bags don't have any minor tears or punctures that can affect the vacuum seal. And you can always reseal if it's needed. Also, make sure that the bags you bought are meant for long-term storage, as certain vacuum bags are better suited for occasional use. That can be also an issue sometimes.

you may have just been unlucky. I’ve several from charity shops/eBay/Amazon and they’re all still going strong. I even put a single mattress in one. But like PP said, you have to be fastidious about the seal.

I never would have thought about getting them from a charity shop.

Most of the ones I have now are good, they are a mix of Ikea and amazon. I'm still using the other ones as they fit under the bed and keep dust etc off just don't vacuum. I have my hot press full the bursting with vacuum bags of baby clothes 😐
