I'm sick of buying mops that don't last very long. I don't buy the Vileda line anymore as they keep on changing their products and you can't buy the heads for them anymore after about 6 months. I've resorted to the old fashioned stringy mops but they don't dry that quickly. Can anyone recommend me something that can last, please? Thanks. (It's for the kitchen floor.)

This thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for mop recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best floor mops page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

I love my vileda turbo kit but I agree the heads don't last. Is it worth looking for non branded heads on Amazon?

I buy the old fashioned white mops (from any supermarket) buy I wash the head daily ! I can’t stand a dirty mop and we’ve all hard floors here that need cleaning 🧹
I put it on a 20 min wash so it dries out quickly

For home use, I’m currently in love with with my spray mop with the Velcro microfibre pad. Cannot see the pads wearing out for years - given that I’ve got microfibre cloths averaging 15 years old. Easy to bung in the wash and dry quick. Plus can always make my own pads and attach a bit of Velcro.

string mops are good, but a tumble dryer is the only way to get them dry in a reasonable time (ime as a commercial cleaner).
