Hello

For some reason I can't hear Orson...dh has muted something somewhere I think

Madhouse Ham cooked in Coke did I read....ooooh what's that like? I have given up Coke as one of my new years resolution, I was drinking about 4 cans a day I haven't had any since New Years eve.

(You'd never believe the withdrawal symptoms! Its like I was on drugs or something!)

I was in Iceland yesterday and as I came up to the Ham section there were 2 cans of coke perched on the bottom shelf! I got to the check-out and wondered if I was hallucinating, and whether my mind was trying to tell me something LOL! Coke in the ham section!!?????

BiancaCastafiore · 08/01/2008 18:36

lol luda, I read TMHs post and thought of you

Thanks Tort Janni* my dd and ds like completely different foods so I've become really lazy too. I'll be out at work two days a week so we can have simple suppers then, otherwise I'm going to try and find a few new easy-to-cook family meals so we all get a bit of variety.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 08/01/2008 18:39

Sorry, no way can I catch up. Dr things DD1 has colic pain in her tummy. I havent heard of that in an older child before. She has to do a urine sample to rule out a uti but he thinks it may just take a while to settle down and eventually go by itself.

ludaloo · 08/01/2008 18:42

Ahhh got it working! I can't say I have heard that song before ( I don't listen to the radio much though I have to say) It is pretty good though.

Right I am off to have a bath, and thrash my DH at scrabble Scrabble on facebook has got us both hooked, but we have been playing real scrabble, he is much better than me but I am Sooooo competitive I insist on another game, just so I can beat him...but rarely do. [damn]..... gibberish I need you to pop over just so I can see him beaten

TheMadHouse · 08/01/2008 19:22

The ham in cole is really nice, not coke tasting, just lovley and it is so easy to bung in the slow cook, non of this timing, glazing lark. Or with a fried egg on top - the boys got poached egss and oven chips delicious.

iIt is chicken pie for tomorrow, I just have to thicken the stock from Sunday and make the pastry next.

Grouchyoscar · 08/01/2008 19:50

Hello again

Ed had a good time at school, he seems to turn on the tears for me

On the way home my reading friend from last term invited himself round. Him (7) and Ed (4) played Knex, Hotwheels cars, looked at books, had hoy chocolate and biscuits together. I saw him across the road then I realised...I shouldn't have done it really. I don't think his parents knew where he was and I've left myself open. I'll mention it to school tomorrow to cover it.

I've done my bedtime routine so it's just dinner, tv and bed. DH came home with Gordon Ramsay chocolates and a bunch of flowers

Thanks for all the kind words for Ed and about my celebration
xx

grannyslippers · 08/01/2008 20:21

Yes, I'm still going on the babysteps. I've dragged out my pre-baby filofax to put all my routines and diary in.

Very hard to get up and immediately dressed, shower, fix hair and makeup, when you are woken up by the DC's bellowing "bekfast! bekfast! po[rri]dge!"

DontDreamItBeIt · 08/01/2008 20:36

grannyslippers - I have to see to ds before I can do anyhing else, for similar reasons.

GO - You will soon learn to repeatedly ask any child who invites themselves over , if they have told a parent I wouldn't be cross with you in that situation, bu would be very angry at the dds for not checking first.
Have a lovely evening wh your dh. Happy anniversary

Ludaloo I bough a new scrabble for dp and the girls for Christmas. DD1 isn't bad for an 8 yr old, and dp and I are evenly matched, but he tends to make up words.

I can't click the links. I tried the diaper cake but it killed my computer. What was it if not a cake shaped like a diaper????

FGS - not heard of colic in older children either. What is the dr testing her urine for?

Ooops. I got to jannis post and saw wine mentioned. I am going to go and open mine I think, ready for the new series of CSI.

Hello everyone
And goodbye (for a while a least). I may be back later if anyone is around.

Diaper cake is basically rolled nappies stacked into a cake shape.

Bewilderbeast · 08/01/2008 20:42

DontDreamItBeIt · 08/01/2008 22:12

My whole house is still a big hot spot.
Hopefully will get on top of it one day!

Tested the DW again and it blew the trip switch again instantly. Didn't even start up even though it did earlier. going to ask a friend if her DH 'mender of all thing' can have a look at it for me.

its times like this i wish my dad was near by. Surely he should be around to help me out. Mum and Dad have finally moved into their new villa. mum sent a txt a few days later. On the end it said 'we are all so happy here' But i guess i have to be [happy] for them however hard it is for me.

tortoise · 08/01/2008 22:22

Sorry, few too many sad faces in that post. Feeling a bit glum and lonely tonight.
Probably should just go to bed.

tibni · 08/01/2008 22:33

EHM thank you!

Had a hectic afternoon, I got back from the gym to a mass of e mails and calls I needed to return.

School run then quick turnround to ballet. Was going to grab a coffee and jump on pc for 30 mins before having to go back and fetch dd from ballet. Saw your post wishing me luck with the mission (that I hadn't done) and I took my coffee downstairs and sorted the plastic.

So thank you fly ladies - support really worked for me today.

DontDreamItBeIt · 08/01/2008 22:36

Tortoise
Would you ever consider moving out to be nearer them?

I hope the mender of al things dp can help wih the d/w

tortoise · 08/01/2008 22:41

Jas No, I don't want to live in Turkey. Im sure its a lovely place but i don't think i would want to live there. It would be too big a move for the kids too. I know my little bro misses being over here.
I don't even know when i will get to visit. I am worried about going on a plane and taking 4 kids with me on my own having never flown before.

Janni · 08/01/2008 22:58

Tort - sounds like you have such a lot to deal with. I don't blame you for not wanting to fly on your own with four kids!!

I had a nap this evening and I did have my wine!! Am all calm and prepared for tomorrow, so feel good.
