Last one - anodised, cost a small fortune - hasn't lasted long at all.

Any recommendations please?

This thread is a bit old now, but we’ve recently refreshed our best frying pan guide with plenty of high-quality, non-stick pans recommended by Mumsnetters. We hope you find it useful.

Woll. I have the saute pan with lid, bought 7 years ago this month. Used several times a week - with the lid you can do lots more than with just a frying pan, it's still genuinely non stick - and I do nothing special with it, and did cost a small fortune but it's the only one I ever had that's lasted this long! Added feature I like is you can detach the handle for washing up/dishwashing/storage.

I've just bought a set of 'OXO ' frying pans from Costco . Seem very good so far

SilverHairedCat · 04/04/2022 15:58

Following as I go through a frying pan at least once a year.

Whitney168 · 04/04/2022 16:01

Ninja, lovely pans.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/04/2022 16:02

Scoville

BeginningBridge · 04/04/2022 16:08

Le Creuset non stick pans are excellent - mine has been used virtually everyday for about 4 years and is still ok ( I put in the dishwasher too).

amazonianwoman · 04/04/2022 16:10

Thanks. Keep 'em coming Smile

Have heard good things about Woll, and just looking at Ninja online now.

Torn between forking out a lot on something I hope will last (although paid a decent amount last time), or going relatively cheap and chucking out when it deteriorates. Although that totally goes against my loathing of throw away culture

Oxo pans for me.

JauntyJinty · 04/04/2022 16:10

We bought a Tefal one years ago - stil going strong!

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 04/04/2022 16:11

I have bought pans at lots of price points and IME non-stick pans just have a shorter lifespan.
the best price:longevity ratio I have found is with the £12 one at IKEA. Reckon I get a good 5-6 years out of them despite considerable pan abuse.

amazonianwoman · 04/04/2022 16:15

I have a really old Tefal wok style which is still going strong after about 10 years - but now have induction and it doesn't work on that

I am not usually a fan of buy cheap and often but with non stick pans I tend to mostly do this. Partly because DH is a nightmare - he'll turn the heat up to super high and then spritz with a low-cal spray and get surprised when the pan can't cope. I have considered that perhaps a really heavy duty one would defeat him and be worth the money but am not willing to risk it.

I get fairly decent ones from Sainsbury's usually. I don't usually buy their budget budget range, but the one up from that. I expect to get around 2 years out of one, depending on use etc. I've just bought a sort of cross wok/frying pan version which I'm quite liking and think it's a bit more industrial than the ones I've had before.

PierresPotato · 04/04/2022 16:26

It's the one sort of pan i don't spend too much on. They shouldn't really be used when even just a bit damaged.
So last time I went to look in a big Asda for best offer on a Tefal. It's doing well three years in. T k Maxx can be good too, that's where I'd got the one before.

Purpleavocado · 04/04/2022 16:28

Have you got Tesco clubcard points? The Denby pans are really nice and you can get get a really good bargain by using points.

Guiltypleasures001 · 04/04/2022 16:33

Tefal love them I've got the red spot ones lasted me many years

amazonianwoman · 04/04/2022 18:16

Thanks all again.

It's a toss up between a new cheap and cheerful Tefal for just over £20, given old one far outlasted my v v expensive most recent disaster, or a Ninja for £50. Too scared to spend close to £100 on a Woll if it doesn't last!

I had the same dilemma last week! I googled loads and still couldn't decide. Went and had a look in Robert Dyas and came out with two (small and large) Tefal ones that cost £12 for the pair from their clearance section. They seem good for now but if they don't last I won't feel too hard done by!

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005DMDQS8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8 Hands down the best pan I have ever owned. And I've tried plenty, from cheap and cheerful to Le Creuset and similar. This knocks them all into a cocked hat and would have paid for itself if only I'd bought it in the first place.

If you don't want to spend that much then these www.amazon.co.uk/JML-Copper-Stone-Pans-20/dp/B01LZY8PKF/ref=sr_1_7?s=kitchen&crid=2257CPHJR6IY6&keywords=non%2Bstick%2Bcopper%2Bfrying%2Bpan&sprefix=non%2Bstick%2Bcopper%2Bfrying%2Bpan%2Ckitchen%2C85&th=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1649095291&sr=1-7 are pretty good.

Ninja

DrNo007 · 04/04/2022 19:08

Procook granite lined pans. We bought 3 and they are amazingly good — non stick — as well as far lighter than our le creuset saucepans.

CheeseMaiden · 04/04/2022 19:18

We had a similar issue with non stick and switched to cast iron, it was a complete game changer!

amazonianwoman · 04/04/2022 19:21

I have some excellent stainless steel pans (over 25 yrs old and still look amazing) and also 3 excellent cast iron pans, but really need a frying pan/wok that is non-stick, which neither of the other styles are.

Scoville or circulon

ElvisPresleysSideburns · 04/04/2022 19:25

Came on to Circulon. Really pleased with mine. Also have a 'Whatever' pan, equally as good, but ridged, so may not be what you're looking for.

viques · 04/04/2022 19:30

My two circulon frying pans have been brilliant to start with ( and my wok still is) but the metal bit on the base has detached with both of them. I will be taking the second one up to John Lewis for a replacement. Last time they replaced immediately.
