It's sooo annoying! Any tips?

Fairy pods - why do they stick to the washer door?

Mine have never done that. Do you chuck them into the back? I usually put a few things in, remember to chuck in a pod, and then the rest of the clothes. Is your washing on very cold?

bestbefore · 28/03/2022 11:45

Hmmm, I put it in normally at the back or mixed in with the washing - if I ever try and casually throw them in they come straight out!
I wash at 40degrees as per the current advise...
Stumped and it's so annoying - I swapped from a powder as it's supposed to be better for the machine..

Used to happen to me all the time. Worse still when they’re stuck on clothes. I just use liquid now.

Snap. Except I went back to powder.

Powder is better for the machine than pods

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2022 11:59

I don't think pods is better for the machine where did you hear that? Anyway put them in before your washing not mixed in are you doing a full load ?

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2022 12:02

Are better* sorry,

WhatIsThisPlease · 28/03/2022 12:03

Think you're supposed to put the pod in first then put the washing on top?

crochetmylifeaway · 28/03/2022 12:10

How long a cycle are you using? For a short cycle when I'm in a rush I dissolve the pod first and then chuck it in. Mine are always fine unless it's a quick wash.

RedLeggedChuff · 28/03/2022 12:12

Aargh, mine do that - I thought I must be doing something wrong. I'm going back to powder after I've used up the ones I have, as they stick if they go in first, last, or half way through loading the machine!

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2022 12:14

They maybe need a longer wash to dissolve then ?

bestbefore · 28/03/2022 12:32

RedLeggedChuff - glad it's not just me!
There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it frustratingly. The shortest wash on my machine is 1hr2mins so it's not a short wash.
I am sure someone told me pods are better but then equally at one point someone probably told me to use powder...Confused

I'm going to try putting it in first and then the washing as logically that makes sense but then it gets mixed up first of all anyway so who knows....
thanks

Powder contains bleaches and helps keep the drum cleaner. Easier to adjust the dosage with powder too

Northernsoullover · 28/03/2022 12:36

After years of being a pod fan I have now reverted to powder. I used to have smelly towels (thanks to teenagers leaving them damp in their laundry) it also removes the sweat from tshirts (teens again) much more effectively.
I chuck the powder straight in the drum. No gunk. All hail powder!

Northernsoullover · 28/03/2022 12:37

I meant to add that my towels are no longer a biohazard since switching to powder!

choosername1234 · 28/03/2022 12:39

This happened to me all the time, I used to have to put the pods in mesh laundry bags to stop it happening. I have also gone back to powder

Mrsjayy · 28/03/2022 12:39

Probably the pod company told us that pods were better,

MeanMrMustardSeed · 28/03/2022 12:41

Powder is better all round. Usually comes in cardboard, not plastic, which is far better for the environment. Also agree that with smaller loads / less dirty, you can adjust the dose easily.

Sprig1 · 28/03/2022 12:41

Is your washing machine level? If it is tilted forward slightly that could happen.

pradavilla · 28/03/2022 14:09

No never seen that happen. I've been Isaiah pods for years and last 5yrs fairy pods.

PieonaBarm · 28/03/2022 14:23

Got to put them right at the back of the drum before you put the load of washing on top. Mine never stick to the door when I do it but DH's do!

CottonSock · 28/03/2022 14:39

Happens since I got a new samsung machine..plus the smaller socks get stuck in the door too. I hate the bloody thing.

nearlyspringyay · 28/03/2022 14:41

I've gone back to powder too, my machine kept getting gunked up with the pods and stinking.

Dbank · 28/03/2022 14:46

In short, use powder... but if you really want to know...

huffyhufferson · 28/03/2022 14:47

I use Aerial pods - put pod at back of empty drum then I put washing in. I haven't experienced pod sticking to anything. Good luck.
