My robot hoover has changed my life!

Ok so maybe a bit dramatic BUT I have a very big house and lots of children and I hate hoovering! I do all my housework when the youngest three are napping, which means if I'm doing upstairs I can't hoover because I don't want to wake them up.

I bought a eufy and it's made life so much easier, I put it on in the kitchen in the morning and when I get back the floor is clean and I mop it straight away. Then whichever area of the hous sim cleaning that day (I follow tomm) I just run it when I've finished dusting.

I just thought I'd post about it in case anyone is considering getting one, I'm so impressed with it!

Currently looking at coverless washable duvets to try and make my life even easier Smile

Yup, changed my life too. I love mine.

blinder · 09/03/2022 12:23

Love my Eufy. Pop it on in the morning and it finds its way back to the charger when it’s finished. Also, we have these non-slip tiles which hold dirt really well. The constant brushing up from the Eufy seems to dislodge everything.

I’m thinking of buying a robot mop next.

But I’m most interested in these coverless duvets, @Foxglovesandlilacs86! Please tell us more!

Seasidemumma77 · 09/03/2022 12:46

My mum's arthritis has got so bad that she was struggling to hoover. I finally persuaded her to get a robot hoover, and she loves it.

I’ve seen some by a company called the fine bedding company, I think there’s some on M&S and John Lewis too.

Only thing is I have a super king bed and Im not sure if it would fit in the washer, I really want to see if anyone else has one first before I buy one!

@TheVanguardSix

Ah OP! I bought a Eufy when my former husband left the family home. It was sort of my "Fuck you and the horse you rode off on, I'm buying a Birkin Bag Eufy and there's nothing you can do about it!" victory dance. Grin He's been replaced by a robot vac and life is soooo sweet! I love my Eufy to bits!
This made me laugh!!
Foxglovesandlilacs86 · 09/03/2022 14:25

I can’t remember the exact model as I got rid of the box but it had a 30 on it?

I didn’t know there was a robomop until this thread, we have all hard floors downstairs so that would be amazing!

OP posts:
Houseplantmad · 09/03/2022 14:40

Can you tell me how a Robomop works please? Our downstairs is a mix of tile, wood and LVT plus a couple of rugs. Would Eufy cope with that and how would robomop avoid the rugs? I think I need both in my life.

blinder · 09/03/2022 14:42

I go through three bucketfuls of water when I mop the kitchen and living room. How on earth does a robomop not just move dirty water around? Maybe this needs a new thread…

CointreauVersial · 09/03/2022 14:43

Ohhh, you are making me want one even more!

Octomore · 15/03/2022 12:21

For those who use a Eufy with wool carpets - do you know what model you have?

We have wool carpets downstairs (pile, not loop), so I think we would be looking for a robot vacuum with soft/gentle bristles so as not to make it go fuzzy.

sunshinesallday · 16/03/2022 09:43

I'm definitely going wrong somewhere then - I've been so disappointed with mine, and would like to sell it (I've used it max 20 times), but it seems I won't get much for it so I've kept it.

My problems are that it is very noisy, so I can't really concentrate on anything when it is on. It leaves very strange lines, circles, and random marks on the carpet from the trail it takes. It seems to create fluff?

Please send me some tips to help me love it. It was a very expensive mistake and I want to love it! :(

(it is a Roomba 980)

Lavendersquare · 18/03/2022 11:35

Well I've just ordered a Eufy G30 currently a very good price on Amazon. Wish me luck, I hope I won't regret this.

Whatapickle21 · 18/03/2022 11:47

Just received a Eufy combined robot hoover/mop as a present - and it’s the best thing ever! I’m totally in love. Ours is called Goofy and runs round so happily, doing a better job than me. I was struggling with health issues and this has honestly changed my life.

brokengoalposts · 18/03/2022 11:51

Eunice the Eufy is a good friend to me.

CanIPleaseHaveOne · 18/03/2022 12:47

@Soffit

I think it only works in houses which are already spick and span (by my standards anyway!). They are not miracle workers. They are unlikely to rise to a challenge with the same gusto as elbow grease
Not so sure about that @soffit! Our house gets massive amount of wear and tear due to lots of kids coming through everyday, long haired dogs and a working yard outside.

Euffy keeps it under control. I run him all the time.

Agree with poster who says you need to keep the floor reasonably clear. Once you get into the swing of it the wonder never ceases! Grin

Re coverless duvets, my friend has converted her duvets to popper on down the sides (as well as the bottom). She spit the side seams, and hemmed them with reinforcing tape, then added the poppers along the sides. To change the cover, she simply starts one side unpoppers all the way round, & removes duvet from the middle. Then chucks cover in machine, hang or tumble dry. To re-cover the duvet, she lays the bottom of the duvet cover flat on the bed bottom side down with the bottom edge at the bottom of the bed, allowing the rest of the cover to congregate over the pillows. She then simply puts the duvet flat on top of the bottom of the duvet, pulls the top of the cover over the duvet till it's flat, and does the poppers up all the way round. I cannot think why nobody has thought of doing this before, no ungainly tussles with the duvet ! Absolute genius!

BigGreen · 18/03/2022 13:21

Oh God totally. Plus the Vileda spray mop from another thread. Game changing!

But doing the poppers up is the bit that takes the longest? (For me anyway)

@Hugasauras

Ours is amazing. He's called Gus and has googly eyes on him.
Oh jeez I m not alone with the googly eyes and naming them. Mine is a eufy and his name is Jaun. He's not perfect and gets stuck in stupid places sometimes. He's a hybrid so mops too.....though it feels more like he just drags a wet rag around. It's good though. Keeps on top of the mess. .
AeroMocha · 18/03/2022 16:46

Apparently the Roborock S7 is supposed to be very good for both hoovering and mopping in the same gadget! But expensive.
I have a Neato D6 and pretty pleased with it. It doesn't get into all the corners but better than some because of the D shape. Mostly it's that my flat is small and there's a lot of furniture and other objects to go around, so that makes it harder. I like that you can set no-go lines, and a floor plan etc, though it doesnt' always know where it is (becasue I don't put it in an area that is clear on both sides, like recommended; I hide it under a chair!).

Recently I have been impressed with two other gadgets - both made by aircraft vacuums. One is a powerscrub thing for cleaning tub and tiles and things, and the other is powerglide for cleaning hard floors (wouldn't need it if I had the fancier robo vacuumn I guess!). But it works well and so easy to use - you press a button the handle for it to squirt water or cleaning solution, then the machine rotates these round cleaning pads to clean the floor. Not too heavy and so easy to use - I got a smaller version of the main one, from the Aldi middle aisle, on sale recently!

SecretPineapple · 19/03/2022 22:50

Right I've gone and ordered a Eufy G30 on the back of this thread, so if it's rubbish I'm coming back and having some seriously stern words with you all.
It had better be as life changing as you say!!Grin

SecretPineapple · 20/03/2022 19:11

Right, OK, fine, you were right. It IS life changing! I have been using an Electrolux Boss for the last 20-odd years and I thought it was great. I was wrong. THIS is great. Equal parts amazed and horrified after just one hour of robovaccing (see photo) ShockBlush
£199 renewed G30 on Amazon. Brand new with a small tear in the outer box. Best bargain ever. Thanks for starting this thread OP!

@Whatapickle21 our Eufy is called Goofy as well! I'm very fond of it. I do need to do some corners but it means I tidy up so generally the house looks a lot better for very little effort.
