I need a new integrated dishwasher!

Ours has stopped working after 10+ years of heavy use. Which one would you recommend? We're a family of 5 and put it on at least twice a day. I'm not interested in bells and whistles, just in reliability and sturdiness.

It must be integrated. Thanks!

We can see this thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best dishwasher page with plenty of great integrated options, as rated by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

We have a Neff
Have had it for about 8 years - use it once a day though (sometimes every 2nd day) so a lot less usage than yours.

Thanks! I hear good things about Neff.

I have a Miele integrated and a Miele freestanding. Love them both. Have also had Neff and that was good too. All depends on budget!! I prefer the ones with a top tray for cutlery instead of a basket.

I agree with Neff. We got their entry level one and it has been excellent.

I bought a Neff before Christmas and really like it. We use it daily, sometimes more. The only slight issue is that it doesn't bleep when the cycle is finished.
I wanted another Bosch but no one had any stock, and after 6 weeks of washing up waiting for stock to come into JL, AO, Hughes etc I found a couple of integrated Neff models in the local Euronics store. I don't know if the stock situation is any better now, I have had 1 email telling one of the models I wanted was back in stock.

Our integrated one broke and I replaced it with a freestanding one in the gap. It was so much easier and cheaper.

We did this too - for the same reasons.

Yes, freestanding dishwashers are meant to be better but they wouldn't work in our kitchen.

I've seen a Bosch one which seems ok. Our current one is a Bosch too and I guess it's lasted well considering the heavy use it has.

When I had to replace my integrated, I found that there wasn't a lot of difference in the costs when you factored in most only had the 12 or at best 24 months warranty. So I opted for a Bosch with their 5y warranty. Its great!

caringcarer · 06/03/2022 14:02

We have Bosch and it is used at least once a day, sometimes twice and now 6 years old and works perfectly. If it broke I would get another Bosch one.

Cookerhood · 06/03/2022 14:11

We replaced our 12 year old Bosch with another Bosch last year. The original one did 12 years of great service without a hiccup. This one seems fine, although not as quiet as we were promised.
To be honest we had no choice at all as there was a shortage last year (Covid, Brexit) & it was the only one we could get.

lisaandalan · 06/03/2022 23:04

What about the brand you already have if it's lasted that long. X

Don't get hotpoint

Had a Bosch one which was great but came to end of life. Was short on money that month so went for a hotpoint. It's like a lottery every-time you open it up after a wash as to which crockery is still dirt. I clean and maintain it and it's still rubbish

TR888 · 07/03/2022 22:10

Thanks everyone. In the end, I'm getting another Bosch, given your own good experiences and my own.

Can I recommend a Siemens? They are internally stainless steel,, whereas the Bosch is plastic inside these days. I vastly prefer mine to any other make and I've had dishwashers for many years.

Oops, too late! Argh, you make a really good point...
