Blimey Rebel, how do you cope with that level of laundry? I feel overwhelmed with one uniform!

unknownrebelbang · 14/10/2007 21:44

Erm..... not very well! lol.

DH does a lot when he's off, and tbh the boys will iron some of their stuff. They will occasionally put a load on if I ask them.

It's all a bit chaotic though, and the karate stuff is a blardy mare. I detest having to put the stuff away once I've folded it all up which also doesn't help. (Do as little ironing as possible).

I do the bare minimum too - only shirts. Everything else gets hung to dry so that I don't have to iron. Fortunately by the time DS starts wearing uniform DSD will have finished!

Next year, DH and all three boys will be wearing white shirts (DS3 wears a polo shirt at the moment.)

Sink is shined; clothes are out (mine at least - did them way earlier this evening to make sure they'd be done). House is tidier than it was a few weeks ago, though nowhere near pristine. I think this is working because it gives me a sense of control over those 2 things, sink and clothes, then I have the motivation to fit in others, rather than just feeling completely overwhelmed and then not being able to do anything.

Though this progress has its limits, I had to get washing in in the dark because of too much computer time earlier, so annoying because it's then damp and needs hanging up A SECOND TIME which I do NOT have energy for!! so it's next to the radiator now and that's going to have to do as it's way past my bedtime.

V impressed at ironers. Dp does his own ironing (massively stressful as he does it in the morning before work and is always late and tired) and I just gave up on that sort of thing after ds was born, though am lucky to have a job where I can get away with that.

Have added in 'tidy up time' to ds' bedtime routine - he seems to like it! He is born organised, he insists on grabbing the cloth and wiping the kitchen table after meals (which I am slack on as with so much else) and this evening was happily putting wax crayons away in a pot while I tidied around him. He must have my mother's genes, they skipped a generation with me ...
