Set a bed time and stick to it??? Yeah right!! Anyone else think this will be a hard one?

OP posts:
unknownrebelbang · 11/10/2007 19:14

I managed last night, purely cos I was feeling rough, lol.

flowerybeanbag · 11/10/2007 19:16

My bedtime at the moment is about 12.30, because DH and I are completely addicted to our box set of 24 season 6, so have to watch at least 2 episodes a night.

It's knackering me out I can tell you! Good job DS is sleeping through .....

SuperMonkey · 11/10/2007 20:00

I can't do it - I'm always asleep by 11pm. But then my alarm does go off at 6am.

unknownrebelbang · 11/10/2007 20:00

It's usually that time when I go to bed.

Bienchen · 11/10/2007 20:41

Getting up at 6, trouble with non sleeping baby and DP getting up at 4 usually mean an early night for me anyway, so that's easily done.

Actually DS now goes to bed after us

mylastrolo · 11/10/2007 23:48

I think you are all doing brilliantly considering you have such young children. I think first year was just a blur to me .

off work tomorrow and intend to fly and catch up with missions so want to hope i do
night all.

systemsaddict · 12/10/2007 07:05

My bedtime is between 9 and 9.30 at the moment so this is an easy one!!

SuperMonkey · 12/10/2007 07:35

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 09:08

Morning all

Bienchien sorry about the job. If you want any application tips/interview tips next time, hop over to Employment topic and I'm happy to help, or have a look at your cv or whatever

Monkey I feel exactly the same way, much happier and less stressed!

Bienchen · 12/10/2007 09:26

Thanks Flowery. I was a well paid project manager until about a year ago and was made redundant half way through my pregnancy. Really only want p/t job now with two DC. DP works most Saturdays so that rules out a Sat job too. I have good qualifications and lots of experience but the sort of job I am applying for now could just as well be filled by someone half my age. There's still another job application outstanding with slightly better pay ...

SuperMonkey · 12/10/2007 10:04

OK, boyo is asleep so I can catch up:

Morning
Get clean, dressed and make up on Done
Make bed
Give DS breakfast Done
Empty dishwasher Done
Get my own breakfast Done
Clear away breakfast stuff Done
2 minute hotspot Done
5 minute room rescue (utility room) Done
15 minute decluttering (cleaned the kitchen windows) Done
Kelly's mission (clean the kitchen floor) next
What's for tea?

Afternoon/evening
Cook tea
Load dishwasher
Complete one admin task from list

Bedtime
2 minute hotspot
Put dishwasher on
Rubbish out
Shine sink
Put all dirty washing in basket
Put clothes out for tomorrow

Cleaned the inside of the kitchen windows and I can't believe the difference it has made ( shhh... we have lived here for about 7 years and the windows have never been cleaned, inside or out )

Sorry about the job Bienchen, a better one will come along.

I'm trying to decide at the moment what to do when my mat leave ends (I've still got 7 months to go). I really don't want to go back but I'm worried (a) that we'll struggle without the income and (b) that later on I'll regret leaving and giving up on the time I've already invested in my career. On the other hand, I think I would regret more having missed DS as a baby/toddler. Ho hum, 7 months to decide.

On with the kitchen floor then before he wakes up...

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 10:12

I have fallen woefully bwehind and haven't flown at all this week (just keeping my chin above water really).

I'm trying to catch up, really I am.

hope I'm not confusing everyone with me persistent name-changing.

SuperMonkey · 12/10/2007 10:22

Who are you?

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 10:24

runs away to clean out trash can.

Is anyone else starting to use Americanisms?

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 10:25

I'm firmly resisting Americanisms here...

purpleturtle · 12/10/2007 10:27

Will save the mopping for when ds2 sleeps.

Think I might venture to the council offices to sort out our Council Tax.

I suppose my bedtime is about 11pm, although I'm often there earlier, thanks to a 6am start!

funnypeculiar · 12/10/2007 12:44

wotcha all
Totally fell off the wagon yesterday as I was out working from 9.30am -10.30pm!

And not doing brillinatly this morning, as trip to supermarket was waaaayyyy overdue & dcs playing up.

Off to do everything now

(Oh, and dd is 19 mths and STILL not 20lbs!)

mylastrolo · 12/10/2007 12:48

hi ladies,

have to do catch up on missions
bin
surfaces
fridge minging
floor
[bought new mop squeezy thing in woolies ]

bought soap dispenser too and new bath mat

bought a control journel too
so determined to do this properly.

want the happy feelings of being organised best get off here then.

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 13:43

Well I've done the kitchen floor.

The dog decided to 'help' by careful investigating all the little piles of crap I made with my broom and spreading them all over the floor again, and then when I got down on my knees with the dustpan and brush, pouncing on the little brush.

SuperMonkey · 12/10/2007 14:09

Encouraged by the improvement made by cleaning inside the kitchen windows, I've just done the outside too (no big deal really, only 2 windows, took a total of about 7 minutes!). I can't believe the difference it has made, the room looks soooo much cleaner.

Wisteria · 12/10/2007 14:20

Hijack - FUNNY PECULIAR

Get thee back to the school thread and give me a clue! We must have been in the same year I think....

Sorry and profuse apologies for hijack xx

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 14:22

Just mopped floor. Dog was safely in garden. Floor just drying, dog came galloping in at 100mph carrying an exciting clod of earth which he'd managed to dig up, with a view to dismantling it in the lounge.

systemsaddict · 12/10/2007 15:11

Ah, but you wouldn't be without them flowery!! I grew up with retrievers - whenever we lost a dog Mum spent about 3 days enjoying her clean kitchen floor and then it was the lack of muddy footprints that drove her to get another one! V. that you have one, we can't really get one as we both work (me 70%, dp full time) but I would love a dog. What sort of dog is it? Am picturing an Old English Sheepdog or similar, with mention of hairiness ...

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 15:14

definitely wouldn't be without him! He's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He's lovely - he hasn't realised he's supposed to be a lap dog - he thinks he's a border collie like his mate up the road
