Tell me about your heated airer!

I have realised I cannot stand another winter full of damp radiator clothes. We don't have space for a tumble drier, and I'm not keen on them (or the cost) anyway.

The Lakeland soon:dry seems to be the fave in online reviews but it's a big spend for me. I can do it but I wanted to know if it was as good as suggested!

We have a small flat and ideally an airer would have a small foot print, and also have the option for me to put it outside in summer as I don't want to keep a heated airer and a clothes horse if I don't have to...

I have the Lakeland one, the biggest one, I bloody love it. I used to have a tumble dryer, got rid of it, spent a fortune on the heated sired and use it everyday. I dry the dog beds it as well. If there isn’t much washing to do I fold one side down. Depends on whether DP is staying with us or not. I’ve got mine plugged into a smart plug so I can time it to be on at certain times. It does have an inbuilt timer but that’s a countdown rather than switch in at 6pm etc

Considering one of these heated airers instead of a tumble drier - can you dry towels on them? Do they get crispy?

Nope to crispy and yes to drying them. I lay them flat on the wires whilst my next load is washing and then finish them off on the bathroom towel dryer thing.

I use an oblong one with "wings" iyswim. It fits our room better and was only £30 on Amazon. The wings heat up and I'm not sure they do on the same shaped one from Lakeland

First wash on the heated airer and I love it 🥰 I'm excited to combo it with my new dehumidifier which comes this afternoon! These towels are going to dry so fast!

Ooh, my tumble dryer is in the garage and seems to take ages. Started using my normal ones in the bathroom but they take a while. Can’t afford the Lakeland ones so v interested in the eBay store ones. There’s a few. I need it to fold flat and ideally the sturdiest one. Which one of the eBay ones looks the best? Are the seconds? Assume they are ok? Help appreciated.

I would love one of these!

If you do not have a cover for it, put a duvet or fitted big sheet over it and the dehumidifier underneath. It traps the air in and dried quicker and the dehumidifier isn’t just pulling moisture from all over the room

I have two pro breeze ones which I think are on a prime day deal on amazon. There are a few others. I’m actually ordering another two because I get such bad condensation in my bedroom!

Ebay has a Lakeland refurbished shop - basically the ones that people have taken back (not necessarily because they are broken but don’t want etc) that are refurbished and resold.

I got mine from there - £50 instead of £200 and it’s amazing.

Thanks so much for this tip! I have just ordered one for DD Uni house. It already has a bit of mould in the house and hasn't stopped raining since they arrived and DD has a chest infection. This will be perfect!

Ordered one this morning from the eBay shop. Looks like it takes around a week. Will update if it’s good when I get it.

Well I’ve had mine got a few weeks, a bit underwhelmed if I’m honest. It’s ok, I think I was expecting too much.
I have just draped a sheet over it though, not sure I want to buy the proper cover considering I think the actual heated airer is only ok. Glad I didn’t pay full whack tbh.
