And what do you use it for?

We're moving into our shiny new house soon! Grin And I'm hoping to kind of have 'capsule' cleaning products/cloths so that they'll fit into my new caddy (which I love!)

Ideally everything will fit in together and I can just carry it from room to room. Instead of having loads of random stuff under the sink like I usually do, I'd like to whittle them down to the best ones and keep 'em all together.

So what's your fave cleaning product?

Method wood. Smells like almonds. Instantly makes the room seem ‘done’

PenOrPencil · 20/08/2020 19:34

All you need is Koh, it does everything.

Anjo2011 · 20/08/2020 19:35

White vinegar, great for limescale.

sycamorecottage · 20/08/2020 19:37

Washing-up liquid.

Kidneybingo · 20/08/2020 19:40

Method rhubarb all surface, purely for the amazing smell.

NannyR · 20/08/2020 19:44

Cream cleaner and stardrops covers most cleaning jobs in my house.

MintyCedric · 20/08/2020 19:46

Anti bac floor wipes...possibly not quite necessary if you're a cat free household!

Atalune · 20/08/2020 19:48

Steam mop with a drop of zoflora garden in it.

Also worth a mention- micro fibre cloths. I mean we all use them now I think, but they life dirt so so well

DH

missmouse101 · 20/08/2020 20:58

Cif cream cleaner.

GuyFawkesDay · 20/08/2020 20:59

Flash "french soap" fragrance.
Smells amazing. £1.50 in Wilko.

Thecobwebsarewinning · 22/08/2020 10:02

I agree that Koh used with ecloths is a wonder product. It’s all I use nowadays throughout the house. I also add a little Zoflora to the spray bottle to make it smell nice and also makes it a sanitiser. (which wouldn’t have bothered me six months ago but I’m a bit more concerned about germs than I used to be).

How2Help · 22/08/2020 10:16

Washing up liquid for me too.

CremeEggThief · 22/08/2020 11:06

Washing up liquid, sponges and rubber gloves. I also get twitchy when out of kitchen roll and it's a couple of days before shopping day!

Franticbutterfly · 22/08/2020 16:38

Elbow Grease (the product, not the action). I also love Aristowax Invisible Window Foaming Glass Cleaner which I buy from Poundstretcher.

isseywith4vampirecats · 22/08/2020 21:33

washing up liquid and microfibre cloths can clean almost everything in my house with this combo
my hoover with four cats a vital piece of equipment

kirkandpetal · 23/08/2020 19:17

'Elbow Grease' spray, 'Pink stuff' in the tub and zoflora.

Napqueen1234 · 23/08/2020 19:20

Pink stuff is great. All method products. Please not wipes so bad for the environment!

Mixingitall · 23/08/2020 19:21

E cloths, perfect for glass, mirrors, kitchen, anything shiny!!

Microfibre/e-cloths also polluting the seas: www.greenpeace.org/international/story/6956/what-are-microfibers-and-why-are-our-clothes-polluting-the-oceans/
Napqueen1234 · 23/08/2020 21:34

@Cynderella horrendous! I tend to use the minky pad type things I hope those are ok!

LightAsTheBreeze · 23/08/2020 21:36

Marigold 'no more elbow grease' stainless steel pads, excellent for cleaning oven shelves and grill pans, I also cleaned paint of glass with one, don't use on your best saucepans though.

Alicatz66 · 23/08/2020 21:41

Minkys, pink stuff,Zoflora, Method bathroom and the rhubarb one, microfibre cloths ... I tried Koh but really don't like it .

Anything synthetic sheds micro plastics. I try to minimise the amount of polyester etc I buy, but I happily used and washed microfibre cloths without thinking it through.

It really annoys me that they are marketed as environmentally friendly when they're anything but, because it exploits people's desire to do the right thing.

sqirrelfriends · 23/08/2020 21:48

Vinegar and e-cloths. The only thing I don't use vinegar on is the granite worktops.
